        Fluorine-Doped Graphene/Nanosized Carbide-Derived Carbon Composites for High-Performance Supercapacitor

        A graphene-based composite with high electrochemical performance for supercapacitor applications is fabricated by introducing nanoscale carbide-derived carbon (NCDC) into the fluorine-doped graphene (FG). The incorporation of fluorine can increase the specific capacitance of graphene by providing more pseudocapacitance, whereas the introduction of NCDC into the FG/NCDC composite offers high specific surface area (SSA) (up to 1317 m2 g -1) and hierarchical pore structure, resulting in an enhanced electric double layer capacitance. Due to the synergistic effect of pseudocapacitance and electric double layer capacitance, the specific capacitance of FG/NCDC composite can reach 321 F g -1 at a scan rate of 5 mV s -1 in aqueous electrolyte. Notably, the specific capacitance of the FG/NCDC composite is very stable during long-term cyclic tests, with no significant degradation after 10,000 cycles. Due to its excellent supercapacitive performance, the FG/NCDC composite can be considered as a promising electrode material for high-performance supercapacitors.

      • Detecting the Hierarchical Community Structure Based on Advanced LPA

        LPA is a classical community detection algorithm with linear time complexity. It can be applied to networks whose community structure is known. However, the randomness of it's initial nodes causes a poor stability. In this paper, we proposed a new method to improve the algorithm by reordering the initial nodes. The advanced algorithm uses ascending order instead of descending order based on degree. It can improve the stability of the original algorithm and detect the hierarchical community structure of the complex network. We tested the algorithm on Zachary's karate network, Dolphins social network and American football network. The experiments confirmed that compared to the classical algorithm the improved algorithm has better performance in terms of rationality and accuracy.

        Regularity of the generalized Poisson operator

        Let $L=-\Delta+V$ be a Schr\"{o}dinger operator, where the potential $V$ belongs to the reverse H\"{o}lder class. In this paper, by the subordinative formula, we investigate the generalized Poisson operator $P^{L}_{t,\sigma}$, $0<\sigma<1$, associated with $L$. We estimate the gradient and the time-fractional derivatives of the kernel of $P^{L}_{t,\sigma}$, respectively. As an application, we establish a Carleson measure characterization of the Campanato type space $\mathcal{C}^{\gamma}_{L}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ via $P^{L}_{t,\sigma}$.

        Determination of escape rate coefficients of fission products from the defective fuel rod with large defects in PWR

        During normal operation, some parts of the fission product in the defective fuel rods can release into the primary loops in PWR and the escape rate coefficients are widely used to assess quantitatively the release behaviors of fission products in the industry. The escape rate coefficients have been standardized and have been validated by some drilling experiments before the 1970s. In the paper, the model to determine the escape rate coefficients of fission products has been established and the typical escape rate coefficients of noble gas and iodine have been deduced based on the measured radiochemical data in one operating PWR. The result shows that the apparent escape rate coefficients vary with the release-to-birth and decay constants for different fission products of the same element. In addition, it is found that the escape rate coefficients from the defective rod with large defects are much higher than the standard escape rate coefficients, i.e., averagely 4.4 times and 1.8 times for noble gas and iodine respectively. The enhanced release of fission products from the severe secondary hydriding of several defective fuel rods in one cycle may lead to the potential risk of the temporary shutdown of the operating reactors

      • NEGATIVE ACTOR ENGAGEMENT IN STUDENT LEARNING SYSTEM: CONCEPTUALISATION, SCALE DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION

        A predominantly positive view is shown in engagement literature in terms of positive actor engagement (PNE) expressions and outcomes. However, business practices indicate that the understanding of actors being negatively engaged is important. Yet a few studies in marketing, which attempt to conceptualise negative actor engagement (NAE), do not have a consensus as for whether NE and PE are reciprocal or NE is a distinct construct with a different nomological network and process. The purpose of this study is to conceptualise and operationalise NAE. Built on Li et al.’s (2018) conceptualisation of actor engagement valence, this paper follows Churchill’s (1979) methods of scale development and operationalises the construct of NAE. By developing and validating a NAE scale in specific online learning servcie platforms, we address this identified literature gap. Specifically, this study derives four NAE dimensions, including annoyance, anxiety, futitlity and failed expectation, which we proceed to validate within a nomological net of conceptual relationships in relation to the engagement behaviours (learning, sharing and endorsing). We conclude with an overview of key managerial and scholarly implications arising from this research. This marks the first study in the marketing discipline to operationalise NAE.

      • STSM : An Infrastructure for Unifying Steel Knowledge and Discovering New Knowledge

        There are rich data resources in materials science, but these data resources are heterogeneous in level of system, structure, syntax, and semantics. Therefore, a domain ontology is necessary and helpful for the integration of these heterogeneous data resources, and it is also one of the main tasks of materials informatics. In this paper, we propose a steel semantic model (named STSM) based on ontology and logic rules for the representation of the steel knowledge. STSM is developed with the consideration of the features of materials data and the developed process is presented. Then, we describe the content and organization of STSM which covers the basic knowledge in steel domain. Further, domain axioms and logic rules are designed to enhance the reasoning ability of STSM. STSM is built and tested in protégé, and an experimental prototype based on Jena is also developed to demonstrate the effectiveness of STSM.

        Calculation of the Allowable Drainage of Parallel Tunnels Based on Ecological Environment Protection

        To determine a reasonable value of parallel tunnel drainage, a steady-flow calculation model is established. The differential equilibrium equation of seepage is established, and the equation of the falling funnel curve in a steady state with drainage parameters is solved by using boundary conditions. The maximum drawdown depth of the control point is used to calculate the allowable discharge of the tunnel. Then, the curve equation of the falling funnel is determined, the volume of the drainage funnel is calculated, and the total discharge in the steady state is calculated according to the water storage coefficient. Finally, the theoretical formula is verified based on an engineering case and numerical simulation. Considering the actual engineering geology and hydrogeological conditions of the tunnel site, the total drainage, allowable drainage, and initial support bearing head height calculated with the proposed method are different from the actual measurements collected on site by 10%, 18.9% and 13.6%, respectively. Therefore, the calculation method can provide a reference for similar engineering.

        Across-fault distributions of radon concentrations in soil gas for different tectonic environments

        The radon concentration in soil gas at the crustal surface is closely related to the development of local fractures. Therefore, the spatial variation in soil-gas radon concentrations across faults differs between fault zones located in different tectonic environments. This study investigates the Beiluntai thrust fault and the Haiyuan strike-slip fault in west China, which are assumed to be typical examples of the different types of faults. Radon concentrations in soil gas were measured at various locations around these faults, and the spatial variation in these concentrations was characterized along fault-perpendicular profiles. For normal fault, our results indicate that concentrations are usually highest at the fault, and decrease gradually away from the fault in either direction. For thrust, however, concentrations increase in the hanging wall approaching the fault, but decrease sharply at the fault. For strike-slip fault with extension across the fault, soil-gas radon concentrations are relatively high at the fault, and decrease gradually with distance from the fault. For strike-slip fault with contraction across the fault, soil-gas radon concentrations are relatively low at the fault, and increase gradually with distance from the fault.

        Organic Montmorillonite/Polyethersulfone/Polytetrafluoroethylene Ternary Nanocomposites: Characterization and Tribological Performance in Dry Sliding Condition

        Polyethersulfone (PES)/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based composite were prepared with the nanofiller oforganic montmorillonite (OMMT). Compared with original OMMT, the interlayer spacing of OMMT in nanocomposites wasdecreased from 3.47 nm to 1.35 nm, attributing to the decomposition of interlayer quaternary ammonium salt. OMMTnanofiller was favorable to improve the thermal stability and abrasion resistance of PES/PTFE compounds. The preferablewear property of OMMT/PES/PTFE composite was mainly ascribed to the load bearing capacity of OMMT on the wornsurface of polymer composites. The OMMT/PES/PTFE compound with 10 wt% OMMT exhibited the lowest wear rate,owing to its densification morphology. Because of the absence of PTFE transfer film, the friction coefficient of OMMT/PES/PTFE compound with 10 wt% OMMT were higher than those of PTFE and PES/PTFE compounds.
