Thin films of La_(0.80)Sr_(0.20)Mn_(1−x)Cu_xO_3 with x = 0.00, 0.04, 0.08, 0.10, 0.15, and 0.20 were deposited on single-crystal LaAlO_3 (100) (LAO) substrates at 250 ± 10 ℃ by using a nebulized spray pyrolysis technique. Structural, surface, and transport characterizations were done by X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and the standard four probe technique, respectively. XRD patterns revealed the formation of single-phase polycrystalline films with a rhombohedral crystal structure. Cu substitution resulted in a uniform decrease in the metal insulator transition (T_(IM)) temperature up to x = 0.10, followed by a drastic decrease in T_(IM) for x = 0.15. Finally, the metal-insulator transition vanished for higher Cu concentrations (x = 0.20) in the observed temperature range. The variation in T_(IM) with the amount of added Cu is explained on the basis of the double exchange mechanism. Cu substitution has been found to perturb the Mn^(3+)-O-Mn^(4+) network and has a strong influence on T_(IM). The variation in resistivity maxima with temperature for different Cu concentrations showed a systematic trend up to x ∼ 0.10. We also explored the electrical conduction at T > T_(IM) in the framework of small polaron hopping in the adiabatic limit. The activation energy showed a strong dependence on the Cu concentration. The maximum magneto-resistance (MR) up to 10%, was observed for x = 0.15 at low temperatures.

In this study we determined whether or not 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) has an effect on the pacemaker activities of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) from the mouse small intestine. The actions of 5-HT on pacemaker activities were investigated using a whole-cell patch-clamp technique, intracellular Ca^(2+) ([Ca^(2+)]i) analysis, and RT-PCR in ICC. Exogenously-treated 5-HT showed tonic inward currents on pacemaker currents in ICC under the voltage-clamp mode in a dose-dependent manner. Based on RT-PCR results, we found the existence of 5-HT2B, 3, 4, and 7 receptors in ICC. However, SDZ 205557 (a 5-HT4 receptor antagonist), SB 269970 (a 5-HT7 receptor antagonist), 3-tropanylindole − 3 − carboxylate methiodide (3-TCM; a 5-HT3 antagonist) blocked the 5-HT-induced action on pacemaker activity, but not SB 204741 (a 5-HT2B receptor antagonist). Based on [Ca^(2+)]i analysis, we found that 5-HT increased the intensity of [Ca^(2+)]i. The treatment of PD 98059 or JNK II inhibitor blocked the 5-HT-induced action on pacemaker activity of ICC, but not SB 203580. In summary, these results suggest that 5-HT can modulate pacemaker activity through 5-HT3, 4, and 7 receptors via [Ca^(2+)]i mobilization and regulation of mitogen-activated protein kinases.
Correlation between blood glucose and hematocrit: A new estimation methodology
Pawan K. Tiwari,남학현,손영수 한국바이오칩학회 2012 BioChip Journal Vol.6 No.3
The estimation of hematocrit in the enzy me and mediator configured blood glucose monitoring electrochemical strips is proposed conceptualizing an innovative data mining methodology. This methodology demonstrate assimilating the peak current(IP), and time(tP) to achieve the peak current of the amperometry; as a coordinate point in the indigenously nomenclated HMM(Hematocrit Monitoring Method) IP-tP Array. The array consists of onstructing a matrix(9×7 matrix) that could be extended to a matrix of appreciable size within the computational limitations. The computational results of hematocrit estimation are precise in the experimental range of 10-50% hematocrit volume. A mathematical model for the transient current emanating from an lectrochemical strip is also formulated corroborating our experimental results.
MOLECULAR SPIN DEVICES: CURRENT UNDERSTANDING AND NEW TERRITORIES
PAWAN TYAGI 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2009 NANO Vol.4 No.6
Molecular spin devices (MSDs) are the most promising candidate for futuristic quantum computation, having potential to resolve spin scattering issue which compromise the utility of conventional spin devices. The MSDs have been extensively reviewed from the view points of device physics and the application of target molecules, such as single molecular magnets. Fabrication of a competent MSD still remains an intractable task. In this review, we first describe the experimental studies where spin state of molecule and/or electrode affected the device transport, especially under magnetic field. Then, we correlated the number of theoretical and experimental results from various domains of nanomagnetism to highlight the scope and future directions panoramically. Finally, the key designs of various MSDs, including our recently developed multilayer edge molecular electrode, have been discussed. A multilayer edge molecular electrode, prepared by bridging the molecular clusters on the exposed edges of a customized ferromagnet–insulator–ferromagnet junction, can be a promising platform for testing the variety of molecular magnets.
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as futuristic options for wastewater treatment
Pawan Kumara,Vasudha Bansal,김기현,Eilhann E.Kwon 한국공업화학회 2018 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.62 No.-
To date, the utilization of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is found from numerous fields of applications including separation, storage, sensing, and many other miscellaneous ones. Their feasibility toward wastewater treatment (WWT) for several pollutants (e.g., heavy metal ions, pesticides, volatile organic pollutants (VOCs), and other hazardous chemicals) has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Here, we attempted to provide the current technical advances associated with MOF-based WWT in reference to conventional materials. Our review emphasized current perspectives on contamination processes in water systems and performance of MOF in diverse WWT applications.

Moisture management behaviour of modified polyester wool fabrics
Pawan Kumar,Sujit Kumar Sinha,Subrata Ghosh 한국의류학회 2015 Fashion and Textiles Vol.2 No.1
To support the thermo regularity system of human body in completely changed environment and physical activity the functional clothing must create a stable microclimate next to the skin. The present study deals with the moisture transport and moisture management behaviour of polyester wool yarn and knitted fabric treated with two types of enzyme viz; alkaline protease enzyme and acidic protease enzyme. The prime object of this study was to enhance the moisture transport and moisture management properties of yarn and fabric for use in active wear. The results reveal superior wicking behaviour by alkaline protease enzyme treatment, while superior moisture vapour permeability with acidic protease enzyme treatment. Moisture management properties of alkaline protease enzyme treated fabric gives better result, ranging its grade from very good to excellent with higher absorption rate, one way transport capacity and spreading speed. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied to test statistical significance level of all effects.
