The paper explores a tri-trophic food chain model with density dependent mortality of intermediate predator. To analyze this aspect, we have worked out the local stability of different equilibrium points. We have also derived the conditions for global stability of interior equilibrium point and conditions for persistence of model system. To observe the global behaviour of the system, we performed extensive numerical simulations. Our simulation results reveal that chaotic dynamics is produced for increasing value of half-saturation constant. We have also observed trajectory motions around different equilibrium points. It is noticed that chaotic dynamics has been controlled by increasing value of density dependent mortality parameter. So,weconcludethatthedensitydependentmortalityparametercanbeusedtocontrol chaotic dynamics. We also applied basic tools of nonlinear dynamics such as Poincare section and Lyapunov exponent to investigate chaotic behaviour of the system.
Reduced Flow Fluctuation of Radial Piston Pump with Silencing Groove Valve Plate
Lokesh Kumar,Nimai Pada Mandal 한국유체기계학회 2022 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.15 No.1
The theoretical study and numerical analysis have been carried out on the valve plate geometry of the radial piston pump to reduce the flow and pressure fluctuation. The radial piston pump is widely used in industrial applications as a hydraulic power source. The pressure and flow fluctuation of pump produce an adverse effect for the hydraulic system. The geometries of valve plate are studies for the analyses of pressure and flow fluctuation of the pump. The explicit area calculation of the piston kidney over the manifold is carried out to simulate the main flow in between piston chamber and manifold in vale plate configurations of with silencing groove, without silencing groove and with silencing groove cum damping orifice. The analyses of cross-port leakage is done at transition zone near at top dead centre (TDC) and bottom dead centre (BDC) of the valve plate, study the effects of cross-port leakage on pressure and flow fluctuation with volumetric efficiency of the pump. Studies the pump pressure and flow build up characteristic under varying load and validated with existing pump performance. The simulation results suggest that the silencing groove valve plate model is better perform than other configurations in terms of high flow rate, low pressure and flow fluctuation with less cross port leakage and more volumetric efficiency.
Effect of Silencing Groove in Valve Plate on Efficiency of Radial Piston Pump
Lokesh Kumar,Nimai Pada Mandal 한국유체기계학회 2023 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.16 No.2
The recent trend is harvesting more efficient radial piston pumps for industrial applications. The valve plate geometry of the pump plays a crucial role in yielding the pump pressure and flow as a whole generated output power of the pump. The generated output power of the pump is dependent on pump pressure and flow rate, the required input power of the pump is liable to rotational torque and speed. This simulation study designed the valve plate geometry with and without silencing groove and analysed the pump performance, forces, required input mechanical power and generated output fluid power. The silencing groove valve plate plays a vital role in pump performance. The silencing groove is a gradual notch shape volume, contact surface area, and volume slowly increasing toward the manifold. The present study finds out the pump's efficiencies based on output fluid power and inputs mechanical energy for with and without silencing groove model. The simulation results manifest the silencing groove valve plate model is more efficient than the without silencing groove valve plate model of the pump.

류영아(Ryoo, YoungAa),나바다(Na, Pada) 한국지방재정학회 2022 한국지방재정논집 Vol.27 No.1
This study began with the recognition that performance inspection through evaluation of local subsidies is important in order to systematically manage local subsidies. We conducted for the research purpose of deriving improvement plans by analyzing the current local subsidy performance evaluation system. To this end, the current status of the local subsidy performance evaluation system was analyzed with a focus on the CIPP evaluation model, which systematically views the entire evaluation process. As a result of the analysis, it is necessary to explicitly present the purpose of evaluating local subsidies to set the direction of evaluating local subsidies. The evaluators should be changed to enable objective evaluation. It is possible to consider adding quantitative evaluation criteria to enable reasonable evaluation, and subdividing evaluation criteria according to the type of local subsidy project. The disclosure of local subsidy evaluation results and residents’ participation should be linked so that residents can check the use of the local subsidy budget and submit their opinions.

A high sensitivity fiber optic temperature sensor based on a side-polished fiber (SPF) coupled to a tapered multimode overlay waveguide (MMOW) is proposed and studied. Both tapered and non-tapered MMOW were considered to study the effect of tapering of MMOW on the characteristics of the device and to investigate the criticality of the uniformity of the multimode overlay waveguide over the SPF. Present study shows that tapering of the MMOW can be used to tune the desired wavelength range without any loss in the sensitivity. Sensitivity up to 9 nm/℃ within the temperature range of 25 to 100℃ can be achieved with the proposed sensor, almost 6 times higher compared even to state-of-the-art high-sensitivity grating-based fiber optic temperature sensors.

Free radicals are known to play important role in pathophysiology of hepatic disorders and antioxidants are employed along with other chemotherapeutic agents in treatment of such diseases. In search of natural antioxidant, successive extracts of Hypericum (H.) hookerianum (Family: Hypericaceae) were evaluated by in vitro and in vivo methods. Extracts of aerial parts of H. hookerianum were subjected for 1,1-diphenyl 2-picryl hydrazyl radical scavenging activity (DPPH assay), nitric oxide radicals scavenging assay and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) assay. Methanolic extract was found to be more active than other extracts in DPPH and in vitro TBARS assay with IC50 at 5.82 ± 1.33 μg/ml and 49.78 ± 3.79 μg/ml respectively. While petroleum ether extract showed more potentials in scavenging the nitric oxide radicals with IC50 220.97 ± 2.69 μg/ml. The administration of CCl4 to the control animals caused decrease in the level of catalase and superoxide dismutase, together with significant increase in the level of TBARS in liver and kidney. Reversal of these changes towards normal group was observed by administration of H. hookerianum methanolic extract at 50 and 100 mg/kg body weight, while other extracts were found to be less active.

Purpose: Perinatal cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection can lead to biliary atresia (BA) in different entities. This study aimed to compare the clinical, hematological, biochemical, and histological features of infants with BA based on their CMV immunoglobulin M (IgM) status at presentation. Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out between January 2019 and June 2020 at the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka. Forty-three patients with BA were selected purposively and categorized into either the CMV IgM-positive or CMV IgM-negative BA group. Categorical variables were compared using Fisher’s exact test and chi-square tests, while the Student’s t-test and Mann–Whitney U-test were used to compare continuous variables. For all statistical tests, a p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Thirty-three (76.7%) of the cases were between 2 and 3 months of age on admission. The clinical, hematological, and biochemical parameters did not differ significantly between the CMV IgM-positive and CMV IgM-negative BA groups. Most (50.0%) of the CMV IgM-positive cases had fibrosis stage F2, while 43.5% of the CMV IgM-negative cases had fibrosis stage F3, with no significant difference between the groups (p=0.391). Conclusion: Our data shows no significant distinction between CMV IgM-positive and CMV IgM-negative BA, suggesting that CMV does not contribute to BA pathogenesis.
