        Organic electrophosphorescent devices with mixed hole transport material as emission layer

        We report on the reduction of driving voltage in organic electrophosphorescent devices with mixed hole transport material asemission layer. The emission layer was mixed withN,N0-diphenyl-N,N0-(3-methylphenyl) -[1,10-biphenyl]-4,40-diamine (TPD) as ahole-transport material, 4,40-bis(9-carbazolyl)-biphenyl (CBP) as a host material for a phosphorescent material, tris(2-phenylpyri-dine) iridium (Ir(ppy)3) as a phosphorescent material and 2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (bathocuproine: BCP) asan electron-transport material. The emission occurred from Ir(ppy)3 and was independent on the ratio of TPD and CBP. For triple-layered device with the TPD:CBP mixing ratio of 10:90, maximum luminance obtained was 104,000 cd/m2 atV ¼ 12 V,J¼ 490mA/cm2. Maximum eciency was 20lm/W at 3.1 mA/cm2..

        Improved white organic electroluminescent devices using fine mesh as an evaporation mask

        We describe an improvement of a white organic EL devices using fine mesh as an evaporation mask. The bright white emission was obtained by controlling the ratio of emission area 4,40-bis(2,2-diphenylvinyl)-1,10-biphenyl (DPVBi) as a blue emitting layer and 5,6,11,12-tetraphenylnaphthacene (rubrene) as a yellow emitting layer. The device with 2,5-bis(60-(20-200 -bipyridyl))-1,1-dimethyl-3,4diphenylsilole (PyPySPyPy) as an electron transport material showed maximum luminance of 20,200 cd/m2, maximum efficiency of 11.7 lm/W and maximum external quantum efficiency of 3%.         Temperature characteristic of permittivity and splay elastic constant for fluorinated liquid crystal mixtures

        This paper describes an experimental investigation for physical properties of fluorinated phenyl bicyclohexane liquid crystals (LCs) mixtures. Measurements are reported of the large anisotropic dielectric properties of two structurally similar LCs (1,2-difluoro-4-[trans-4-(trans-4-propylcyclohexyl)cyclohexyl]benzene and 1-cyano-2-fluoro-4-[trans-4-(trans-4-propylcyclohexyl) cyclohexyl] benzene) mixed with a zero dielectric anisotropic LC (1-methyl-2-fluoro-4-[trans-4-(trans-4-ethylcyclohexyl) cyclohexyl]benzene). The results indicate that the mixing proportions strongly influence the dielectric constants along with the longer molecular axis. For two samples which is made from meta-para- or meta-fluorine substituted molecules, the temperature dependence of the anisotropic dielectric striking resemble that of a unitary compound with para-fluorine substituted. The threshold voltage of the mixtures relies on the element that possesses a large dielectric anisotropic. The mixing of the materials leads to a slight increase for splay elastic constants in an anti-parallel measurement cell.
