This study was carried out to propagate Dwarf Japanese Snowbell(Styraxjaponicus) through cuttings in mist. The results were as follows : The best rooting result was obtained when the cuttings were soaked for ten seconds in a solution of 5000ppm of indolebutyric acid(IBA). Cuttings treated with IBA 10000ppm for ten seconds showed the best root weight including dry weight as well as root number. Rooting percentage averaged 52.9, 67.1, 84.3, 81.4% for untreated, 2000, 5000, 10000ppm IBA, respectively, after 70 days. The length of root taken 70 days after cutting under mist couldn't find out right relative correlation to different concentration of IBA solution. Rooted cuttings are easy to overwinter without difficulty in green house.

문제: 소화기병검사실에서 대장내시경 검사의 부도건수가 최근 월 200명 정도로 예약인원의 16%에 달한다. 이는 본원 외래진료 부도율이 평균 10%인 것과 비교할 때 상당히 높은 결과이므로 대장내시경 예약환자를 대상으로 부도율 관리를 위한 활동이 필요하였다. 목적: 외래 및 입원환자의 부도건수 및 부도환자의 특성을 분석하고, 개선활동을 통하여 대장내시경 검사의 부도율을 줄인다. 의료기관: 서울 아산병원 질 향상 활동: 부도관리를 위한 개선활동으로 SMS 횟수를 2주전, 4일전, 1일전 3회로 변경하고, 내용도 각 시기마다 차별화하였다. 대장내시경 검사 예약을 하고 기다리는 환자를 대상으로 처방일 순, 예약 날짜순서 등 필요한 항목 순으로 볼 수 있는 리스트가 필요하여 예약대기 프로그램을 개발하였고, 처방일로부터 2주 이내 자동예약을 금지하였다.(7월 10일부터 시작) 예약대기명단에 있는 환자를 대상으로 전화로 예약 변경을 하여 2주 이내에는 예약의 빈자리가 없도록 하였다. 미리 부도를 예측하여 추가로 예약하던 방법에서 정원조정을 하여 정원 외 추가 예약을 하지 않았다. 입원환자 일정관리를 위하여 일정관리 프로그램을 개발하여 타과의뢰 회신을 하는 전임의가 직접 날짜를 전산에 입력하여 회신과 동시에 검사실, 담당주치의, 담당 간호사가 모두 일정을 확인할 수 있도록 하였으나 프로그램이 늦어져 9월 12일부터 시행하였다. 개선효과: 부도건수가 개선 전 8주 동안 385건(예약인원 대비 16%) 에서 개선 후 6주의 평가기간 동안 256건(예약인원대비 14.1%)으로 129건이 감소하였으며, 검사 1-2일전 일정 변경 연락 환자 감소 및 검사 비용 수납 환자의 부도건수가 감소하였다. 대장내시경 검사 예약대기 프로그램 운영 및 예약 변경 전화 활동으로 2달씩 기다리던 환자의 예약일을 약 한 달 정도 단축하여 줄 수 있었다. 검사 정원 관리의 결과로 검사 예약 시 예약기준이 명확해지고, 부적절한 예약으로 인한 검사지연 등이 확실히 줄었다. 또한 입원환자 일정관리 프로그램 적용으로 입원환자의 검사일정과 관련된 전화업무는 확실히 줄어들 것으로 예상된다.

<P>Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 supported transition metal (Me = Ni, Cu, Co, and Mo) catalysts have been investigated to screen for the catalytic activity and selectivity for deoxygenation reaction of oleic acid. Me-Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 catalysts were prepared by a co-precipitation method. Ni-Ce0.6Zr0.4O2 catalyst exhibited much higher oleic acid conversion, selectivity for C-9 to C-17 compounds, and oxygen removal efficiency than the others. This is mainly ascribed to the presence of free Ni species, synergy effects between Ni and Ce0.6Zr0.4O2, and the highest BET surface area.</P>

A synthetic method for bis-carbonylation of bromo(bromomethyl)benzenes was described. Alkyl carboalkoxyphenylacetates were easily prepared by the carbonylation of benzylic and arylic bromide moieties in bromo(bromomethyl)benzenes with alcohols in the presence of $K_2CO_3,\;CH_3I$, and a catalytic amount of cobalt carbonyl under the atmospheric pressure of carbon monoxide at room temperature in good to excellent yields. The base played a decisive role in the selectivity of product and $K_2CO_3$ was the best one among bases used.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>Licochalconce (LC) H is an artificial compound in the course of synthesizing LCC in 2013. So far, few studies on the effects of LCH have been found in the literature. Despite progress in treatment modalities for oral cancer, the cure from cancer has still limitations.</P> <P><B>Purpose</B></P> <P>The effects of LCH were investigated on human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cells to elucidate its mechanisms.</P> <P><B>Study Design</B></P> <P>We explored the mechanism of action of LCH by which it could have effects on JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>To confirm LCH anti-cancer effect, analyzed were MTT assay, DAPI staining, soft agar, kinase assay, molecular docking simulation, flow cytometry and Western blotting analysis.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>According to docking and molecular dynamics simulations, the predicted pose of the complex LCH and JAK2 seems reasonable and LCH is strongly bound to active JAK2 with opened activation loop. The LCH inhibitor is surrounded by specific ATP-binding pocket in which it is stabilized by forming hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions. It is shown that LCH plays as a competitive inhibitor in an active state of JAK2. LCH caused a dose-dependent decrease in phosphorylation of JAK2 and STAT3. More interestingly, LCH suppressed JAK2 kinase activity <I>in vitro</I> by its direct binding to the JAK2. LCH significantly inhibited the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway, causing the down-regulation of target genes such as Bcl-2, survivin, cyclin D1, p21 and p27. In addition, LCH inhibited cell proliferation and colony formation of OSCC cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner, as well as induction of cell apoptosis through extrinsic and intrinsic pathway. The induction of apoptosis in OSCC cells by LCH was evident in the increased production of ROS, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, release of cyto c, variation of apoptotic proteins and activation of caspase cascade.</P> <P><B>Conclusion</B></P> <P>LCH not only induces apoptosis in OSCC cells through the JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway but also inhibits cell growth. It is proposed that LCH has a promising use for the chemotherapeutic agent of oral cancer.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
양돈용 사료 첨가제 개발을 위하여 구기자 부산물로부터 메탄올수용액을 이용한 총 폴리페놀 추출조건 최적화

This study was conducted to develop a functional feed additive for pig with spent Lycium chinense Mill fruit. We investigated the optimum conditions for the extraction of polyphenol from spent Lycium chinense Mill using methanol. Methanol concentration as a solvent for extraction, extraction time and the volume of solvent per a gram of solid (ground spent Lyceum chinense Mill) were selected as parameters. Three levels of parameters were configured according to Box Behnken experiment design, a fractional factorial design, and total 15 trials were employed. Total polyphenol concentration from each trial was used as response from experiment system and effects of parameters on total polyphenol extraction efficiency were determined using response surface model. As a result, all terms in analysis of variance, regression (p = 0.001), linear (p = 0.002), square (p = 0.017) and interaction (p = 0.047) was significant and adjusted determination coefficient (R2) was 94.7%. Total polyphenol extraction efficiency was elevated along increased methanol content and decreased solvent to solid ratio. However extraction time did not affect the efficiency. This study provides a primary information for the optimum extraction conditions to maximize total polyphenol recovery from spent Lycium chinens Mill fruit and this result could be applied to re-use of argo-industrial by-products and to develop of functional feed additives in organic farming.
