Combustion Characteristics of Plant Derived Liquid Biofuels for Gas Turbines and Boilers
( Nozomu Hashimoto ) 한국액체미립화학회 2018 한국액체미립화학회 학술강연회 논문집 Vol.2018 No.-
Utilization of biofuels is effective for reducing CO2 emission from industries that is employing combustion technologies. In this paper, researches on three important characteristics for the spray combustion technology, namely, the atomization characteristics, the droplet evaporation characteristics, and combustion characteristics, of plant derived liquid biofuels for gas turbines and boilers are introduced. Palm methyl ester (PME), Jatropha methyl ester (JME), Jatropha pure oil (JPO), and crude Jatropha oil (CJO) were tested as alternative fuels for diesel fuel or C-heavy oil. From the results of experiments, it was found that the radiation intensity from the flame to the combustor wall and the particulate matter emission can be decreased with the increase of biofuel mixing ratio when the biofuel is appropriately introduced. However, when the biofuels are introduced to boilers, careful attention should be paid to the change in the heat absorption balance. In addition to that, careful attention should be paid to the possibility of a decrease in the particle collection efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator due to the decrease in particle size.
Role of Computers and robots in future otological surgery
Nozomu Matsumoto 한양대학교 의과대학 2016 Hanyang Medical Reviews Vol.36 No.4
The author herein reviews recent series of projects aimed at developing computer- and robot-assisted otological surgery. The author’s team and its collaborating institutions have developed devices for image-guided surgery and robots for otological procedures. The accumulation of user-oriented research resulted in developing a unique robotic system of human-robot collaborative control, which is the system that restricts the surgeon’s hand only if surrounding structures are in danger of injury. Thus, as many other fields in the surgery, otological procedures can also be assisted by computers and robots that provide objective and patient-specific anatomical information during surgery.
Design Method of 2-D Lattice Digital Filters Using the Genetic Algorithm
Hamada, Nozomu,Kishida, Masahiko 대한전자공학회 1994 ISPACS:Intelligent Signal Processing and Communica Vol.1 No.1
This paper proposes design method of 2-D lattice digital filters using the Genetic Algorithm(GA). By using the GA, they are derived directly from the desired frequency response, and 2-D stable nonseparable-denominator transfer functions can be obtained. In our method, ARMA transfer functions are designed by two algorithms. One is to optimize AR and MA parameters simultaneously, and the other is to search an optimal AR parameters with fixed MA parameters, and then search an optimal MA parameters separately. Both are done by the GA, and the simulation shows that they give the simillar results.
Joint Japan-Korea HDR Satellite Communication Experiment Phase II
Nishinaga, Nozomu,Takahashi, Takashi,Tanaka, Masato,Jang, Jae-Hyeuk 통신위성우주산업연구회 2001 Joint Conference on Satellite Communications Vol.2001 No.-
Satellite communications has characteristics such as the wide area coverage and the flexibility of the network construction. Especially, a communication system with geostationary satellite is easy to be tracked and can establish the broadband communication network. Therefore, it is expected that Internet operable, broadband and wide area coverage IP satellite network can be established. Communications Research Laboratory (CRL) is promoting the technology development to utilize a satellite communications system as the solution of the wide area communication network construction and the international High Data Rate (HDR) satellite communications experiment to demonstrate application operability. We have succeeded Joint Japan-Korea HDR Satellite Communication Experiment Phase 1.In this paper, we report some results of domestic experiment that has carried out as preliminary next phase experiment in summer and propose next phase's experiment items and network configuration.
Design of Arbitrarily Rotated Frequency Response in Two-Dimensional Digital Filters
Hamada, Nozomu,Zhu, Jiemei 대한전자공학회 1994 ISPACS:Intelligent Signal Processing and Communica Vol.1 No.1
The aim of this paper is to present a design method of the zero phase two-dimensional (2-D) finite impulse response (FIR) filters having rotated frequency response of a given simple prototype FIR filter response. The first step of our approach is to design a prototype response by the filter with the impulse response whose domain is restricted within a circular region. This restriction prevents rotated impulse array to going out from the rectangular region. Then, the rotation of prototype impulse response, which ie given no more than on the rectangular lattice grid, causes the same rotation of prototype frequency response. The second step is the interpolation of the impulse response on the grids in the seine of the reconstruction of 2-D bandlimited discrete signals. Previous other methods for the rotation and the interpolation are compared with the proposed method. The obtained results for fan-type filter approximation by the proposed method show its validity.
Reconfigurable Communication Satellite System "SoftSAT"
Nishinaga, Nozomu,Ogawa, Yasuo,Takayama, Yoshihisa,Takahashi, Takashi,Kubooka, Toshihiro,Hiroaki, Umehara Hanako 통신위성우주산업연구회 2002 Joint Conference on Satellite Communications Vol.2002 No.-
Satellite communications provides characteristics such as wide-area coverage and flexibility of network construction. Since an enormous budget and time are require for satellite development, however, it is difficult to implement the latest techniques onboard. Even of the latest communications technology is implemented at the time of launch, it is impossible to follow paradigm shifts in terrestrial network technology. In this paper, we propose a reconfigurable communication satellite system based on the formation-flight technique and inter-satellite communication technology. This satellite system consists of a group of layered satellites that can operate together like one satellite.
Togawa, Nozomu,Sato, Masao,Ohtsuki, Tatsuo 대한전자공학회 1996 APCCAS:Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits And Sys Vol.1 No.1
This paper proposes a circuit partitioning algorithm in which the delay of each critical signal path is within a specified upper bound. Its core is recursive bipartitioning of a circuit which consists of three stages: 0) detection of critical paths; 1) bipartitioning of a set of primary inputs and outputs; and 2) bipartitioning of a set of logic-blocks. In 0), the algorithm detects the critical paths based on their lower bounds of delays. The delays of the critical paths are reduced with higher priority. In 1), the algorithm attempts to assign the primary input and output on each critical path to one chip. In 2), the algorithm not only decreases the number of crossings between chips but also assigns the logic-blocks on each critical path to one chip by exploiting a network flow technique with logic-block replication. The experimental results demonstrate that it resolves almost all path delay constraints with maintaining the maximum number of required I/O blocks per chip small compared with conventional algorithms.
