Catherine, a Maronite resident of Nab'a (Beirut), married and the mother of three children, claims that for the past twenty years she has “seen” and been “kidnapped” by the Virgin Mary and the saints. Hundred of Christian and Muslim devotees meet regularly in her house, which has almost been turned into a sanctuary. At Catherine's house, the presence of the divine is built up through an interplay between the visionary, the faithful, the priests and the saints. Every Tuesday the divine manifests itself through the body of the visionary by means of ecstasies and on Good Friday each year stigmata appear on the body of Catherine, on her front, her feet, her hands and her side. The saints, as a spiritual force, overcome her and possess her body. Their interventions seem very precise and ritualized. The miracle expected - "descent of the saints", "divine messages", appearance of the stigmata - is within a spectrum of actions. Our discussion will present the ritualized intervention of the saints by focusing on the performance itself. In other words we will approach the performance of the visionary and the actors around her as an art on the borders between the real and the imaginary. We will focus on the pace of ceremonies marked by moments of variable intensity. This rhythm gives the ritual both the aspect of a well-settled "performance" at times and that of an unexpected or even disorganized one at other times. It plays an essential role in the staging of the extraordinary emergence of divine entities in the daily life of an ordinary household. Keywords: Lebanon, rituals, saints, visionary, miracles
Some results on the geometry of a non-conformal deformation of a metric
Nour Elhouda Djaa,Abderrahim Zagane 대한수학회 2022 대한수학회논문집 Vol.37 No.3
Let $(M^{m},g)$ be an $m$-dimensional Riemannian manifold. In this paper, we introduce a new class of metric on $(M^{m},g)$, obtained by a non-conformal deformation of the metric $g$. First we investigate the Levi-Civita connection of this metric. Secondly we characterize the Riemannian curvature, the sectional curvature and the scalar curvature. In the last section we characterizes some class of proper biharmonic maps. Examples of proper biharmonic maps are constructed when $(M^{m}, g)$ is an Euclidean space.

The present study is devoted to the influence of a superposed radial inflow in a rotor-stator cavity with a peripheral opening. The flow regime is turbulent, the two boundary layers being separated by a core region. An original theoretical solution is obtained for the core region, explaining the reason why a weak radial inflow has no major influence near the periphery of the cavity but strongly affects the flow behavior near the axis. The validity of the theory is tested with the help of a new set of experimental data including the radial and tangential mean velocity components, as well as three components of the Reynolds stress tensor measured by hot-wire anemometry. The theoretical results are also in good agreement with numerical results obtained with the Fluent code and experimental data from the literature.

In this work, the temperature dependence of electrical parameters of nanoscale SOI (silicon-on-insulator) TG (triplegate) n-FinFET (n-channel Fin field effect transistor) was investigated. Numerical device simulator ATLAS™ wasused to construct, examine, and simulate the structure in three dimensions with different models. The drain current, transconductance, threshold voltage, subthreshold swing, leakage current, drain induced barrier lowering, and on/off current ratio were studied in various biasing configurations. The temperature dependence of the main electricalparameters of a SOI TG n-FinFET was analyzed and discussed. Increased temperature led to degraded performance ofsome basic parameters such as subthreshold swing, transconductance, on-current, and leakage current. These resultsmight be useful for further development of devises to strongly down-scale the manufacturing process.
3-D Simulation of Nanoscale SOI n-FinFET at a Gate Length of 8 nm Using ATLAS SILVACO
Nour El Islam Boukortt,Baghdad Hadri,Alina Caddemi,Giovanni Crupi,Salvatore Patanè 한국전기전자재료학회 2015 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.16 No.3
In this paper, we present simulation results obtained using SILVACO TCAD tools for a 3-D silicon on insulator (SOI) n-FinFET structure with a gate length of 8 nm at 300K. The effects of variations of the device’s key electrical parameters, such as threshold voltage, subthreshold slope, transconductance, drain induced barrier lowering, oncurrent, leakage current and on/off current ratio are presented and analyzed. We will also describe some simulation results related to the influence of the gate work function variations on the considered structure. These variations have a direct impact on the electrical device characteristics. The results show that the threshold voltage decreases when we reduce the gate metal work function Φm. As a consequence, the behavior of the leakage current improves with increased Φm. Therefore, the short channel effects in real 3-D FinFET structures can reasonably be controlled and improved by proper adjustment of the gate metal work function.
Facile Route for Development of Smart Slimming Textile Fabrics Based on Nanocomposites
Nour F. Attia,Mona Mousa 한국섬유공학회 2018 Fibers and polymers Vol.19 No.2
Different slimming textile fabrics were treated with smart nanocomposite coatings. Facile method was used to polymerize polyaniline and then incorporate montmorillonite layers in the coatings layer. Afterwards, TiO2NPs of an average nanoparticle size of 20 nm were decorated on the clay layers and finally wrapped with polyaniline chains. The decorated clay layers were dispersed on slimming fabrics. The properties of the developed slimming fabrics were improved. The thermal stability indicates enhancement in moisture absorption of the developed fabrics compared to untreated ones. The antibacterial activity was enhanced achieving 4 mm clear inhibition zone compared to zero for the blank samples. The bursting strength of developed slimming fabrics was improved recording 12.5 % enhancement compared to blank ones. The dispersion of the clay layers and decorated ones on fabrics surface was evaluated using microscopic techniques.
Notes on the Second Tangent Bundle over an Anti-biparaKaehlerian Manifold
Nour Elhouda Djaa,Aydin Gezer 경북대학교 자연과학대학 수학과 2023 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.63 No.1
In this note, we define a Berger type deformed Sasaki metric as a natural metric on the second tangent bundle of a manifold by means of a biparacomplex structure. First, we obtain the Levi-Civita connection of this metric. Secondly, we get the curvature tensor, sectional curvature, and scalar curvature. Afterwards, we obtain some formulas characterizing the geodesics with respect to the metric on the second tangent bundle. Finally, we present the harmonicity conditions for some maps.
Modeling Handover in Satellite Communications
Nour el Houda Hedjazi,Djamel Benatia 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.7 No.5
The Handover is one of the key subjects in maintaining the quality of service offered by non-geostationary constellation systems. As the satellite coverage moves according to the satellite motion, the continuity of a call must be maintained from one satellite to another. In case of the Handover fails, the call is dropped, resulting in a quality degradation of service. In this paper, the performance of several channel assignment strategies for a LEO satellite constellation is evaluated. The FCA and DCA methods are considered where its advantages and disadvantages are highlighted. Moreover, the Handover process implication in the call blocking probability is assessed via simulation. Strategies able to cope with the high number of Handovers, due to the high speed of the satellites, without affecting strongly the capacity of the system are investigated. Simulation models have been developed to implement all the features evaluated in this paper including the mobility model. An analytical description and interpretation of results are also presented.
