      • 제6차 교육과정에 따른 초등학교 자연과 교과서의 물리단원의 STS 내용 분석

        STS has been concerned with a reform in science education as a new direction and goal for science education. In Korea, STS was introduced in the Fifth Curriculum and it was more emphasized in the Sixth Curriculum. The purpose of this study was to examine physics chapters of elementary science textbooks published by the Sixth curriculum to analyze STS material, activity, and space devoted to STS. The results of this study indicated that STS topics in physics chapters of elementary science textbooks are related to applications of science and social problems and issues. They also revealed that 7.0% of the total page space in average was devoted to STS material. And the activities of STS materials that were analyzed by SATIS student activities were structured discussions and investigations.

        온실효과, 오존층 파괴, 산성비에 대한 예비 초등교사들의 개념

        The focus of this study was to identify and describe environmental preconceptions held by pre-service elementary teachers about three issues : greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion and acid rain. Two hundred and twenty nine pre-service elementary teachers participated in this study. A 36 question survey was created by one of the authors. The questions focused on the cause, effects, and interactions of three environmental issues : greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion and acid rain. Pre-service elementary teachers answered the questions on a Likert scale. An analysis of the survey data indicated that the majority of pre-service elementary teachers possess an array of incorrect conceptions about the causes and effects of the greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion, and acid rain, and also many pre-service elementary teachers thought that there were causal relationships among the increase in greenhouse effect, the destruction of ozone layer, and the increase of acid rain.

      • 초등학교 학생들의 환경오염 문제 대한 의사결정 실태에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to point out how elementary school students make a decision on the environmental pollution issuses, and to offer the fundamental data to seek a guidance for the development of decision-making ability in science education. The results of this study indicated that the status of decision- making process on the environmental pollution issues of elementary school students tends to focus on doing it as a private one by themselves rather than the social activities that can not do it by themselves. Accordingly, we need to teach the training of the decision-making process to the elementary students based on the considering of the various aspects and objective judgments.

      • 마인드 맵을 활용한 과학과 학습 활동이 아동의 과학적 창의성에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to find the effects of science learning activities using Mind Mapping on the Children's Scientific Creativity I selected 119 students in four classes of the 6th grade elementary students at Geochanggun. To compare the difference of learning methods, experimental group learned by Mind Mapping activities and controlled group learned by traditional activities. As for the test of the Scientific Creativity, modified Kim hyun-A's Creativity scale were used. The instrument of statistical analysis was SPSS 8.0 windows. The results of the study were as follows: 1. In terms of the whole grades of Scientific Creativity, Science learning using Mind Mapping activities showed statistically significant difference(P<0.01). 2. Science teaming using Mind Mapping activities showed statistically significant difference in the Scientific creativity sublevel items like openness, flexibility, fluency, and organization(P<0.01). Therefore, it seemed that science learning with Mind Mapping activities was effective in children's Scientific creativity development Considering the results of this study, it seemed that science learning using Mmd Mapping activities was effective in children's Scientific creativity development.

        마취흰쥐에서 天麻鉤藤飮의 心血管作用에 對한 硏究

        The present study was attempted to investigate the cardiovascular effects of Cheonmagudeumg-Eum (CMGDE), which is known to be one of chinese medical prescriptions used in treatment of hypertension, in the anesthetized rats and to clarify the mechanism of its pharmacological action, making use of its water extract. 1. CMGDE (5-45 ㎎/㎏), given into a femoral vein of the rat, produced a dose-dependent hypotensive and bradycardic responses while even much larger doses of it (10-90 ㎎/㎏), given into the rectum, did induced negligible hypotensive responses. 2. CMGDE-induced depressor responses were inhibited greatly by pretreatment with phentolamine (an adrenergic α-receptor antagonist), but not by pretreatment with atropine (an antimuscarinic agent) and chlorisondamine (an autonomic ganglionic blocker). 3. Pressor responses evoked by intravenous norepinephrine were attenuated significantly by pretreatment of CMGDE-infusion with a rate of 45㎎/㎏/20min. 4. In the rat aortic strips, phenylephrine (an adrenergic α1-receptor agonist) and high potassium (a membrane depolarizing agent) caused potent contractile responses, respectively. However, in the presence of CMGDE (2㎎/㎖), the contractile responses of phenylephrine (10-5M) and high potassium (5.6×10 exp (-2)M) were markedly inhibited. Taken together, these experimental results suggest strongly that Cheonmagudeung-Eum may cause the hypotensive responses in the anesthetized normotensive rat, indicating that this cardiovascular effects of CMGDE is likely due to the blockade of adrenergic α-receptors without cholinergic effects.

      • 예비 및 현직 초등교사의 경력과 성별에 따른 STS 상호작용에 대한 인식조사

        The purpose of this study is to consider pre-service and in-service elementary school teachers' perceptions about STS (Science-Technology-Society) STS interactions by gender and career. To consider their perceptions and develop the proper teaming methods/materials to it, the next matters were established ; 1. What difference is there between their perceptions about the nature of science and technology and those about STS interactions by genders? 2. What difference is there between their perceptions about the nature of science and technology and those about STS interactions by careers? 222 of the seniors in Jinju National University of Education, namely pre-service elementary school teachers, and 185 of the active teachers in Kyung- Nam Province were selected as the objects for researching these matters. The results were analyzed with a percentage as an examining tool of TBA-STS (Teachers' Beliefs about Science-Technology-Society). The results were as follows ; First, the difference of opinions by genders was not clear in contents. In some of the questions which asked the interactions among science, technology, and society, actual and simple views were a little bit different. Second, in active teachers' recognition of STS interactions by careers, there was a meaningful difference. In other words, most teachers thought of the influence of science on technology as 'technology is an application of science', but the teachers wish 6 to 15 years careers told mostly consider the influence of technology on society as actual opinions. It showed that the teachers with more than 25 years careers had simple thoughts that technology makes our lives more convenient. Moreover, on the STS interactions, those with more than 25 years careers recognized with simplicity that one thing has influence on only another thing. From these above results, the following suggestions are made for the succeeding studies. First, the basic principles of STS should be introduced in the curriculums for pre -service teachers, and also the instruction of it to in-service teachers should be intensified in order that they can have firm views of it. Second, studies should be made to investigate what factors have influence on teachers' recognition of STS. I hope that the succeeding studies on it will be made actively and they will be helpful to settle the education of STS in elementary science education.
