Vol.- No.25
This paper investigates the paradoxical urban experiences of politics of distinction and encounter through the extended understanding of localities in the case of Gaya cultural historic district in the city of Kimhae. The case illustrates the way marginality becomes a central identity through the national and local states’ projects which crystalizes Gaya as an alternative origin of the locality of Kimae, replacing the mainstream historical identity centered on Shilla. The state-led, top-down project, however, ignores diversity that co-exists right-here and produces new others differentiated from the imagined community based on blood lineage. It merely replaces the center with the margin rather than deconstructs the dichotomy. Various cultural projects promoted by the city of Kimhae intend to erase the spatial identity which stems from multicultural spaces of foreign migrant workers, showing the politics of distinction under the name of cultural diversity. The case shows how the local state produces an exclusive locality through the selective discovery of the past and the reinvented identity, urging critical reflection on the exclusive construction of locality.
Proposal for a New Score: Hemorrhoidal Bleeding Score
Nadia Fathallah,Hélène Beaussier,Gilles Chatellier,Jean Meyer,Marc Sapoval,Nadia Moussa,Vincent de Parades 대한대장항문학회 2021 Annals of Coloproctolgy Vol.37 No.5
Purpose: We conducted a prospective study to evaluate a new hemorrhoidal bleeding score (HBS).Methods: All consecutive patients who had consulted between May 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017 for bleeding hemorrhoidal disease were prospectively assessed at a proctological department. The study was conducted in 2 stages. The first stage assessed the validity of the score on a prospective patient cohort. A second stage assessed the interobserver reproducibility of the score on another prospective cohort. Results: One hundred consecutive patients were studied (57 males; mean age, 49.70 years). A positive association between HBS and surgery indication was found (P<0.001). A cut-off value of the score of 5 (≤5 vs. >5) separated patients from surgical to medical-instrumental treatment with a sensitivity and specificity of 75.00% and 81.25%, respectively. In the multivariate analysis, only HBS was significantly associated with the operative decision (odds ratio, 12.22). Prolapse was no longer significantly associated with the surgical indication. After a mean follow-up after treatment of 7 months, HBS improved statistically significantly (P<0.0001). For the reproducibility of the score, an additional 30 consecutive patients (13 males; mean age, 53.14 years) were enrolled with an excellent agreement between 2 proctologists (kappa=0.983).Conclusion: HBS is sensitive, specific, and reproducible. It can assess the severity of hemorrhoidal bleeding. It can discriminate between the most severe surgery-indicated patients and does so in a more efficient way than the Goligher prolapse score. It also allows quantifying the extent of change in hemorrhoidal bleeding after treatment.

This paper gives a critical review of Jean-Mark Colletta, and MicheleGuidetti’s (Eds.) monograph entitled Gesture and Multimodal Development, published in 2012 by John Benjamins, Amsterdam. The monograph deals withcentral issues in gesture, multimodality and communicative development. Itcovers multiple aspects of gesture and focuses on different types of gesturalbehavior. The review starts with a detailed summary of the studies included inthis volume then evaluates its merits and minor shortcomings.

Taking into acount all parameters characterizing the behavior of thin-walled members (perforations, buckling, complexexperimental results. In this paper, the results of compression tests on perforated stocky columns carried out at the Universityof Trento since 1992 are presented. The effects of both load eccentricities and perforations on the load carying capacity andon the buckling modes of a thin-walled member were investigated, pointing out a significant influence of these parameters.Furthermore, a numerical buckling study was carried out, which includes the development of an efficient tol for investigatingagainst a series of relevant experimental tests is discussed and its efectiveness is finaly proved by comparing it with a codebased on traditional finite strip method.

A series of novel 5-aryl-3-cyclopropyl-4,5-dihydropyrazole derivatives 2a-p were synthesized via cyclization of chalcones 1a-h with thiosemicarbazide or semicarbazide HCl and evaluated as anti-inflammatory/antioxidant agents. The structures were confirmed by elemental analyses and spectral data. The free radical scavenging activity toward superoxide was determined. Their effect on hepatocytes viability and nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-stimulated macrophages was also determined. The results showed that compounds 2e and 2n demonstrated the highest free-radical scavenging and anti-inflammatory activities, thus can be useful in the prevention of oxidative stress and inflammation-related disorders.
Sensorless Fault Tolerant Control for Induction Motors
Nadia Djeghali,Malek Ghanes,Saїd Djennoune,Jean-Pierre Barbot 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2013 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.11 No.3
In this paper, a sensorless fault tolerant controller for induction motors is developed. In the proposed approach, a robust controller based on backstepping strategy is designed in order to compensate for both the load torque disturbance and the rotor resistance variation caused by the broken rotor bars faults. The proposed approach needs neither fault detection and isolation schemes nor controller re-design. Moreover, to avoid the use of speed and flux sensors, a second order sliding mode observer is introduced to estimate the flux and the speed. The observer converges in a finite time and leads to good estimates of the flux and the speed even in the presence of the rotor resistance variation and the load torque disturbance. Since the observer converges in the finite time, the stability of the closed-loop system (controller with observer) is shown in two steps. First, the boundedness of the closed-loop sys-tem trajectories before the convergence of the observer is proved. Second, the convergence of the closed-loop system trajectories is proved after the convergence of the observer. To highlight the effi-ciency and applicability of the proposed control scheme, simulation and experimental results are con-ducted for a 1.5 kW induction motor.
Energy Consumption Scheduling in a Smart Grid Including Renewable Energy
( Nadia Boumkheld ),( Mounir Ghogho ),( Mohammed El Koutbi ) 한국정보처리학회 2015 Journal of information processing systems Vol.11 No.1
Smart grids propose new solutions for electricity consumers as a means to help them use energy in an efficient way. In this paper, we consider the demand-side management issue that exists for a group of consumers (houses) that are equipped with renewable energy (wind turbines) and storage units (battery), and we try to find the optimal scheduling for their home appliances, in order to reduce their electricity bills. Our simulation results prove the effectiveness of our approach, as they show a significant reduction in electricity costs when using renewable energy and battery storage.
