Spent pig bone was consist of hydroxyapatite. And then we thought that it have a possibility as a adsorbent. The preparation of bone char prepared from spent pig bone in this study. We study on the recycling possibility as a adsorbent is able to adsorb copper ion from their single aqueous solutions. The results are summarized as follows. Bone char that prepared from spent pig bone at 105, 400, 700℃. The adsorption removal efficiency of copper ion onto bone char as adsorbent was above 90% for 15 hours. Increase in the initial pH of the copper ion solution result in an increase in the copper ion uptake per unit weight of the adsorbent. Freundlich isotherm model was found to be applicable for the experiment data of copper ion. The results showed that spent pig bone can be used for the absorption of the copper ion.

Gastric perforation is a rare abdominal catastrophe which associated with high mortality in newborn infant. Mostly the causes are not known but those are asphyxia, congenital muscle defect, sepsis, gastric tube insertion, trauma, ulcer and intestinal obstruction, etc. It usually occurs within the first week of life. Roentgenograms of the abdomen are most helpful in making a positive diagnosis and surgical repair is the treatment of choice. We had two cases of spontaneous gastric rupture in neonate. One had perforation on the greater curvature of the fundus and the other on the anterior wall of body. Failure to feed and abdominal distension with radiographic demonstration of pneumoperitoneum were seen in them. Two cases underwent surgical repairs. So one was survived, but the other died in the early postoperative period.

고등학교 생물 '생명의 연속성' 단원 분석 : 탐구 활동을 중심으로

Recent advances in biotechnology has centered around the field of genetics. Although the likely benefits of biotechnology is obvious, it is assuring that the potential risks has to be carefully weighed. It also rasied new social and ethical issues in everyday life experiences. Thus, biology education especially in the units on biotechnology and genetics should emphasize social implications of the technology. In this study, the "Continuity of Life" unit in high school biology Ⅱ curriculum was analyzed in the context of Science, Technology and society(STS). The unit, "Continuity of Life", describes basic genetic phenomena and evolution of life. five different high school biologyⅡ textbooks were chosen and inquirty content dimension, and the inquiry process dimension. Analyses of the inquiry content dimension showed that 40.6% of inquiry activities in the unit were devoted to the evolution part and those for cell division, reproduction and development, and Mendelian genetics were at most 8.7%, 13.0%, and 16.0%, respectively. In the inquiry process dimension. ´interpreting data and formulating generalization´ and ´observation and measuring´categories consist of 81.1%. The other categories, ´seeing a problem and seeking ways to solve it´and ´building, testing, and revising the theoretical model´were under represented. In the context dimension, the scientific context consists of 73.0% and the proportion of the other three categories, individual context, the social context, and the technical context was only 26.1% in total. In conclusion, the analysis of inquiry activities on the "Continuity of Life" unit in five textbooks composed based upon the Sixth Curriculum of High School Education failed to show intimate relationship between science and society and simply concentrated on description and explanation of scientific facts. Provided the fact that the Biology Ⅱ is used in the highchool class for students who want to be future natural science majors of who show special interests in natural science, it is important for students to understand the ethical and social issues that recent biotechnology rasied and to become scientifically literate and responsible persons.

길안천의 저서성 대형무척추동물상

안동시민과 하류 지역민의 식수원과 농,공업 용수로 중요한 길안천의 저서성 대형무척추동물의 분포상을 파악하고 수질등급에 따른 지표생물군을 이용하여 길안천 수계의 수질을 종합적으로 평가하였다. 조사결과 길안천에는 절지동물문, 편형동물문, 환형동물문, 연체동물문, 대형동물문등 총 5문 14목 27과 38속 45종의 다양한 종이 서식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 빈부수성 수역의 지표군인 하루살이는 길안천 전 수계에 널리 분포하고 있으며, 우점종으로 나타났다. 그 외에 빈부수성과 β-중부수성을 지표하는 횐색 깔다구가 높은 출현도를 보였다. 그러나 길안천이 유속이 빠르고, 주변식생이 빈약하며 하상구조가 단일형의 암석구조로만 이루어져 있는 중상류 하천 특유의 자연환경을 나타내고 있어, 잠자리류와 딱정벌레류, 노린재류등 이에 적응하지 못한 종들의 출현은 저조하게 나타났다. 지표생물군을 이용한 길안천 수계의 수질평가는 β-중부수성으로 판정되었다. We investigated the water Quality in the Kilan stream which has important roles of the use for drinking, irrigation and industry In the Andong area. The research has been performed one time in each month from January to July In 1995. The research was focused on the comprehensive evaluation of water quality in the Kilan stream using a benthic macroinvertebrate as index organisms whose distribution is related to the water quality. The total number of benthic macroinvertebrate taxa were composed of 45 species, 38 genera, 27 families, 14 orders and 5 phyla. Ephemeroptera was the dominant species. Subsequently, Trichoptera and Chironomidae (white) were the second dominant species. Several organisms such as Odonata, Coleoptera, and Hemiptera were found less number because the water speed in the river is a little fast, and simple bottom. Finally, we determined the water quality as β-mesosaprobic using a index organisms in the Kilan stream.

Dexamethasone 치료기간 중의 DHEA 투여가 쥐의 뒷다리근 질량에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of DHEA with dexamethasone on body weight and wet weight and relative weight of atrophied hindlimb muscles induced by dexamethasone treatment. 200~225g Wistar rats were divided into control(C), dexamethasone(D), dexamethasone and DHEA(DDH) groups. Dexamethasone was injected daily at a dose of 5mg/kg. DHEA was administered daily at a dose of 5mg/kg by oral ingestion during 7days. The data were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test using the SPSSWIN 9.0 program. Body weight and muscle weight of plantaris and gastrocnemius of dexamethasone group decreased significantly compared with that of control group. Muscle weight of plantaris of DDH group increased significantly compared with dexamethasone group. Body weight of DDH group decreased significantly compared to control group, but relative weight of plantaris and gastrocnemius of DDH group increased significantly compared to control group. Based on these results, it can be suggested that DHEA administration during dexamethasone treatment can increase weight of atrophied plantaris muscle induced by dexamethasone treatment.

화장품 구매성향과 구매 후 만족도에 관한 연구

The purposes of this study were to classify the contents of shopping orientation of cosmetics, to group women into shopper types of cosmetics, to investigate the differences in cosmetics purchase behavior according to shopper types, and to examine how the cosmetics satisfaction was influenced by cosmetics shopping orientation and demographic variables. Subjects were 479 women in their 20's to 50's in Seoul, Korea. The factors of the shopping orientation of cosmetics derived by factor analysis: 'impulsive shopping', 'conspicuous shopping', 'rational shopping', and 'independent shopping. Four shopper types were classified by cluster analysis of the 4 factors. The shopper types were the same as the 4 factors. Total satisfaction of cosmetics was influenced by independent shopping orientation, age, brand, impulsive shopping orientation, conspicuous shopping orientation, and rational shopping orientation(R²=.217). Satisfaction of basic cosmetics was influenced by conspicuous shopping orientation, independent shopping orientation, age, rational shopping orientation, impulsive shopping orientation, and social class(R²=.407). Satisfaction of coloring cosmetics was influenced by brand, independent shopping orientation, age, and impulsive shopping orientation(R²=.167).

Kiwi pectinesterase 저해제의 정제 및 특성

Kiwi pectinesterase inhibitor(PEI)를 분리하기 위하여 CNBr-sepharose 4B에 orange pectinesterase(PE)를 공유결합으로 결합시켜 affinity chromatography용 수지를 제조하였다. 제조된 수지를 사용하여 PEI를 강력하게 선택적으로 결합시켜 pH 9.5의 높은 이온 강도를 갖는 용액으로 단일한 활성 peak로 용출·분리하였다. 분리된 kiwi PEI의 분자량은 12.5% SDS-PAGE 전기영동상에서 약 16.6 KDa 정도의 밀접한 이중 band로 나타났다. 분리된 PEI를 -25,℃ 5℃ 및 실온에서 30일 동안 보관·저장하였을 때 냉장, 냉동상태에서는 저해활성이 2주정도 경과시 25% 정도 감소하고 그 이후에는 큰 변화 없이 유지되었으나, 실온에서는 저해활성이 급격히 감소하여 저장 4주 정도에 거의 활성을 상실하였다. 이들의 활성특성을 조사해 본 결과 최적저해활성 pH는 7.5이고 최적저해반응 온도는 20℃였고, 70℃까지는 내열성을 지녔다. 또한 0.2M NaCl의 기질농도에서 최적저해 활성을 나타내었으며, kiwi PEI의 PE에 대한 저해작용은 noncompetitive inhibition인 것으로 나타났다. The resin for affinity chromatography was prepared to separate pectinesterase inhibitor(PEI) from ripened kiwi fruit(Actinidia chinensis) by CNBr-activated Sepharose 4B being covalently bound by orange petinesterse(PE). The affinity resin strongly and selectively bound PEI, which could be eluted in high yield as a single, homogeneous and sharp peak by pH 9.5 without loss of inhibitory activity. The separated PEI had maintained almost inhibitory activity at -25℃ and 5℃ during 30 days but lost it at room temperature in 4 weeks. The PEI possessed a molecular weight of 16.6 KDa, as estimated by 12.5% SDS-PAGE. The optimum pH, the optimum temperature, the thermostable range and NaCl concentration of substrate for PEI inhibitory activity appeared to be 7.5, 20℃, below 70℃ and 0.2 M respectively. The kind of inhibition on tomato pectinesterase was found to be noncompetitive, using citrus pectin as substrate.

Base plates for tubular columns have been proposed in AISC Design Guide Series (1991), which have been developed for wide flange columns. Therefore, 1) Base plate must be designed by considering external cantilever model and internal simple supported slab model, when base plate is loaded by normal load. 2) Base plate is designed by more economical method between internal cantilever model and design method of 1), when base plate is loaded by light load. But, this study is proposed design method of 1) except 2), and it will demonstrate using design examples of table2,3.

고등학생의 스트레스와 의복의 규범적 동조 및 의복만족도에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of stress, body satisfaction, academic record, and demographic variables on the normative conformity toward clothing and clothing satisfaction of high school students. The subjects were 389 high school students(boys: 169, girls: 220) in Seoul, Korea. The normative conformity toward clothing measured by the degree of wearing of unsuitable clothes for school clothing and private clothing norm of students. The school clothing was influenced by allowance, gender, stress of home fife, academic record(-), mothers education(R^=.270). The private clothes was influenced by allowance, gender, stress of home life, body satisfaction, and geographical region (R^2=.200). The clothing satisfaction was influenced by body satisfaction, gender, allowance, geographical region, and stress of home life(-) (R^2=.325). The present findings provide that stress of home life, gender, and allowance had effect on the normative conformity toward clothing, and the higher the stress of home life, the lower the degree of clothing satisfaction.
