1. Purpose This study is to find out how sportsmans build their personality characteristics through sports and to provide the relevant data necessary to modification of their maladjustments to sports. Especially, in this paper, two kinds of problems will be examined; the differences of sportsman's personality characteristics between males and females engaged in individual game and team-game perspectively, and the differences of personality characteristics between sportsmans and non-sportsmans. 2. Method A group of 59 sportsmans(37 male sportsmans, 22 female sportsmans) among Korean Representative Sportsmans(KRS) were randomly sampled for this study. The Minesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory(MMPI) administered was given according to rigid schedule during three months from July 1. to Oct. 31, 1975. 3. Results and conclusions 1) In the male sportsman's personality characteristics of individual game, Hypomania Scale(Ma) and Masculinity-Femininity Scale (Mf) are higher than other Scales, while Hypochondriasis Scale(Hs), Depression Scale(D) and Psychasthenia Scale(Pt) are lower than other Scales. 2) In the male sportsmans' personality characteristics of team-game, K. Score, Hypochondriasis Scale(Hs) and Masculinity-Femininity Scale(Mf) are lower than other Scales. 3) In the female sportsmans' personality characteristics of team-game sports, Hysterria Scale(Hy) is higher, while Depression Scale(D), Schizophrenia Scale(Sc) and Validity Scale(F) are lower than other Scales. 4) The male sportsmans' personality characteristics of individual Sports are optimistic and self-confidence than non sportsmans in their life and future, quick in their thought and behaviour and to have social extroversion in human relation 5) The male sportsmans' personality characteristics of team-game are self-confidence, social extroversion, strong law abiding spirit and stable emotion than non sportsmans. 6) The female sportsmans' personality characteristics team-games are plainly, honest, to promote self-confidence and responsibility and to behavior after correctly understanding reality than non sportsmans. 7) Generally the male sportsmans' personality characteristics of individual and team-games are similar, but the sportsmans of individual sports are over behavior, emotional excitement and self-confidence than the sportsman of team-game. 8) The personality charateristics of the male and female sportsmans are not all neurotic tendency, psychopathic symptom and psychopathic personality.

Iai(1989) suggested the similitude law for 1g shaking table tests using basic equations governing the soil-structure-fluid systems. However, the validity of this similitude law was not fully verified. In this research, shaking table tests for gravity type quay walls were performed to verify the similitude law for soil-structure interaction problems. The validity of the similitude law was analyzed by checking whether different sizes of models show the same physical behavior. The test results showed that the excess pore pressure and the dynamic thrust acting on quay walls were difficult to be simulated in model tests. However, it was found that the displacement of the wall can be properly predicted from model tests if the total force acting on the wall is simulated in models.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Bulk metallic glasses are adequate for micro-forming because of the viscous flow in the supercooled liquid state. The deformation behavior of Zr<SUB>41</SUB>Ti<SUB>14</SUB>Cu<SUB>12.5</SUB>Ni<SUB>10</SUB>Be<SUB>22.5</SUB> alloy under compression in the supercooled liquid state were investigated by using DSC and TMA. Based on the deformation behavior, micro-forming process of Zr<SUB>41</SUB>Ti<SUB>14</SUB>Cu<SUB>12.5</SUB>Ni<SUB>10</SUB>Be<SUB>22.5</SUB> alloy was designed and carried out. The surface of the deformed specimens were analyzed by SEM, XRD, and AFM. The roughness of the specimen surface exhibited a correlation with the total deformation and a new parameter reflecting roughness evolution of the deformed surface was suggested as the relative comparison among different forming conditions.</P>

A study was made on the high temperature deformation behavior of Si steel to increase the reliability of continuous casting process. In continuous casting process, the cast slab experiences cooling and deformation simultaneously, and various sources for defect formation exist. Of all these defects, cracking has the most deleterious effect on the property of the cast slab. To avoid or minimize transverse cracking, unbending temperature should be chosen carefully. In general, transverse cracks can easily be formed when unbending temperature lies within the ductility minimum temperature range of hot tensile test. Relative ratio of austenite-ferrite and their distribution or morphology have significant effect on the reliability of unbending process. Moreover, inhomogeneous deformation can be the source of defect formation. So, to produce Si steel by continuous casting, deformation behavior of Si steel as well as the relative ratio of austenite-ferrite or phase transformation temperature(Ar₃) should be known. We carried out hot tensile and hot compression test to evaluate the mechanical properties of the Si steel at high temperature. Hot ductility minimum temperature was not found with all Si contents, but inhomogeneous deformation occurred in high Si(1.17% and 3.21%) samples. It can be concluded that to minimize inhomogeneous deformation is the key to the successful unbending process of silicon steel. To analyze the effect of the silicon on the strength of silicon steel, a model was established, by using rule of mixture.

Objectives: We evaluated the outcomes of using the serum galactomannan (GM) assay for the screening of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) for hematologic disorders while on primary antifungal prophylaxis (PAP). Methods: This study included patients with hematologic disorders who underwent alloHSCT from January 2013 to November 2015. The conditioning regimen of alloHSCT was tailored accord-ing to the underlying hematologic disease and the patient’s general condition. Patients received routine PAP with fluconazole prior to 2014 and micafungin after 2014; serum GM tests performed were retrospectively analyzed. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of serum GM tests for detection of proba-ble/proven IPA were evaluated. Results: A total of 136 alloHSCT recipients at Seoul National University Hospital were included in the study. Fluconazole was administered in 72 patients for PAP, while micafungin was admin-istered in the remaining 64 patients. The overall sensitivity, specificity, and NPV of serum GM assays were 95.8% (95% confidence interval [CI] 78.9-99.9%), 93.8% (95% CI 91.7-95.5%) and 99.8% (95% CI 99.1-100.0%), respectively. However, the PPV of GM tests was relatively low at 35.4% (95% CI 23.9-48.2%). The serial change of serum GM levels differed according to the antifungal agents used. With effective PAP using micafungin, serial serum GM levels show zero order kinetics during the neutropenic period. Conclusions: Although the serum GM assay is a sensitive and specific test for detecting IPA in alloHSCT recipients, its role for routine surveillance is limited in an era of effective PAP with micafungin.

<P>An alternative approach of controlling bistable resistance switching in NiO was investigated. By fabricating a multilayer structure of three NiOx layers with varying oxygen content, bistable resistance switching could be localized. By varying the enveloping oxygen partial pressure during NiOx layer deposition from 10% to 30%, improved resistance and switching voltage distribution from cycle to cycle was achieved. In addition, more localized switching could emulate sub-100-nm-sized cells showing decreased reset current values on the order of 100 A. X-ray photon spectroscopy analysis shows a clear grading near the interfaces of successive NiO layers.</P>
