프톨레마이오스의 『테트라비블로스』의 아랍어 주석과 『天步眞原』
곽문석 ( Kwak¸ Moon-seok ) 명청사학회 2021 명청사연구 Vol.- No.56
This paper is a study of the reception history of Ptolemy’s Tetrabiblos in Asia, especially in China. The Tetrabiblos was translated into Chinese twice between the 14th and 17th centuries in the Ming dynasty. The first translation was Mingyi tianwenshu 明譯天文書 translated from a Arabic text. The second was Tianbu zhenyuan 天歩真原 translated from a Latin text. In this paper, I argue that the Tianbu zhenyuan and its Latin Vorlage was also influenced by Arabic astrological texts. As such an example, I will present the use of the terms such as “black bile”(heitan 黑痰), “yellow bile”(huangtan 黃痰), “life-bringing”(xuezhongzhiqi 血中之氣) and “phlegmatic”(baitan 白痰) in the Tianbu zhenyuan. These terms were used in the astrological context in the writings of Arab medieval astrologers such as Abu Ma'sar, Al-Qabīṣī and Al-Biruni. In conclusion, two ptolemaic texts translated in the Ming dynasty were influenced by arabic astrology. This paper will contribute to research into the reception history of Ptolemy not only in the medieval arabic and latin worlds but also in Eastern Asia.
Performance Improvement of Satellite Navigation System Using Inter-satellite Distance Information

A satellite navigation system calculates the position of a user using measurement values from a satellite, receiver, and broadcast ephemeris, which provides position information about the navigation satellite. However, in scenarios where it is difficult to secure sufficient satellite visibility, such as in a downtown area, the position accuracy of a global navigation satellite system is reduced. This study proposes a navigation algorithm for improving the accuracy of navigation using a measurement value in addition to the existing pseudorange measurement. A user who cannot secure a sufficient navigation visibility uses a standalone scheme that depends exclusively on the pseudorange measurement to estimate the position. The proposed method uses a position estimation algorithm that uses the measured value of the distance between satellites and geometric relation between users to construct a measurement equation, and combines this with the existing pseudorange measurement equation. The results obtained from static and dynamic experiments verify the superior performance of the proposed navigation algorithm.
Eosinophilic Granuloma Treated with Prednisolone and Azathioprine in a Dog

A two-year-old, intact male, 45 kg Doberman Pinscher was referred with dermal nodular lesions affecting the left hindlimb. The cytological examination revealed eosinophilic inflammation. Skin biopsy specimens showed canine eosinophilic granuloma (CEG). The dog was administered oral prednisolone (1.5 mg/kg/day) and azathioprine (2 mg/kg/day). After one week, the skin lesions diminished dramatically, but the dog presented with severe watery diarrhea. The prednisolone dose was reduced by 0.9 mg/kg/day. The lesions and diarrhea improved markedly after one week. Prednisolone was tapered by 25% of the previous dose every week to 0.2 mg/kg/day. Azathioprine was also reduced to therapy every other day. After seven weeks of combination treatment, the medications were withdrawn, but the dog had a recurrence one week later. Azathioprine (2 mg/kg/EOD) was reintroduced for two weeks. There was no relapse after all the medications had been withdrawn. This case indicates that CEG can be managed with prednisolone and azathioprine. Azathioprine may be an effective adjunctive immunosuppressive agent, and may be considered as a well-tolerated prednisolone sparing agent to treat CEG.

Recent studies in business history shed light on family business or family capitalism. Italy can be a good case that illustrates the development of family capitalism. This article explores the oligarchic family capitalism and micro-family capitalism in Lombardy, in particular focusing on textile industry. Crespi as a ‘industrial dynasty’ demonstrates the family entrepreneurship and its limits, including limits of autofinanziamento and overinvestment. Meanwhile, it appears that small-scale family firms in rural areas struggled for survival, depending upon ‘self-exploitation’ or intensive labor investment of family members and relatives. Interestingly, family firms in Como silk industry investigated by Yanagisako demonstrate that desires and sentiments among family members can be the forces of production that make the generation of family capitalism possible. As a matter of fact, the problem of succession is a subtle but most important side of family capitalism which used to be dramatically expressed as the so-called ‘Buddenbrooks syndrome’ which means the decline in third generation. Various efforts were made to overcome crisis of succession of family firms, including the adoption of the managerial elements beyond the family. This suggests that, just as capitalism requires the non-capitalist resources like family, family capitalism needs the professional managerial elements outside family. In short, it can be said that the structures of family firm do not determine the tragic decline of family firms, as implied by the ‘Buddenbrooks syndrome.’

A transfer case is a main device of 4WD. It must optimally distribute torque to front wheels and rear wheels according to various driving conditions to reduce tire slip. Optimally distributing torque between front and rear wheel is very important to improve driving performance. This research shows that basic torque distribution ratio depends on mass center. We designed a transfer case controller considering mass center and longitudinal acceleration, which shows good driving performance at accelerated cornering.

It is generally agreed that in the 1960s and 1970s, the government’s economic development policies were based on strong leadership. Granted, government initiative is necessary when the basis for economic development is insucient. In general, it is vital for government planners and implementers to inuence economic development. However, in addition to the leaders and ocials, the government’s success was possible because of the contributions of its hardworking economic subject. The article examines the cotton textile industry, which has found a way to profit from exports since the late 1950s. In the 1960s, it grew into a true export industry, implementing strategy based on economic development plans. In the 1970s, it grew rapidly because of the soaring demand from overseas markets. In conclusion, the cotton textile industry was different from the typical case in Korea, where high growth was driven by government initiatives. The cotton textile industry formed a private association to make profits and synergized the entire business plan, securing direct and indirect support via consultation with the government. In particular, it took steps toward securing new business by exploring overseas markets and proposing various export support policies to the government. at is, the development of the cotton textile industry shows that there are not only compelling forces of a developing nation’s government to develop the Korean economy but also independent initiatives and eort of the private sector’ to obtain prots.
