        Design of Structural Vibration Control of a Tall Steel TV Tower under Wind Load

        architecture of landmark in a city, its function has been developed and it works not only for broadcasting and television butalso for environment monitoring and sightseeing etc. The wind-induced vibration response of high-rising steel tower is verylarge because of its significant height and slender structural characteristic. So it is very important to control the wind-inducedvibration of the tower. The magneto-rheological fluid (MR) has become highest performance inteligence material toodrobustnes as wel as consuming les power and so on. The method to control wind-induced vibration based on the MR damperhas its unique superiority in providing a larger equivalent damping force. In this paper, a kind of control system is introducedin which Multiple Tuned Spring Dampers (MR-MTSD) and Pendulous Tank Tuned Mass Damper (MR-PTMD) work togetheras vibration control dampers. Through numerical simulation analysis, the parameters of this control system are designed whenthe acceleration in flors upon the tower where people work and sightsee and the displacement at the top of the tower, it isshown that the control result is remarkable.

        A multisource image fusion method for multimodal pig-body feature detection

        The multisource image fusion has become an active topic in the last few years owing to its higher segmentation rate. To enhance the accuracy of multimodal pig-body feature segmentation, a multisource image fusion method was employed. Nevertheless, the conventional multisource image fusion methods can not extract superior contrast and abundant details of fused image. To superior segment shape feature and detect temperature feature, a new multisource image fusion method was presented and entitled as NSST-GF-IPCNN. Firstly, the multisource images were resolved into a range of multiscale and multidirectional subbands by Nonsubsampled Shearlet Transform (NSST). Then, to superior describe fine-scale texture and edge information, even-symmetrical Gabor filter and Improved Pulse Coupled Neural Network (IPCNN) were used to fuse low and high-frequency subbands, respectively. Next, the fused coefficients were reconstructed into a fusion image using inverse NSST. Finally, the shape feature was extracted using automatic threshold algorithm and optimized using morphological operation. Nevertheless, the highest temperature of pig-body was gained in view of segmentation results. Experiments revealed that the presented fusion algorithm was able to realize 2.102-4.066% higher average accuracy rate than the traditional algorithms and also enhanced efficiency.

        Association of pretreatment thrombocytosis with prognosis in ovarian cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis

        Objective: To investigate the association between pre-treatment thrombocytosis and prognosis in patients with ovarian cancer (OC). Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library were searched for articles regarding the prognosis of OC patients with pre-treatment thrombocytosis by the end of March 2018. Pooled estimates for overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) events were calculated as hazard ratios (HRs) either on a fixed or random effect model by Stata 13.0 software. Funnel plot and Egger's test were applied to evaluate publication bias and sensitivity analyses were undertaken to estimate the strength of outcomes. Results: Eleven studies that met the inclusion criteria were enrolled, including a total of 4,953 patients. Pooled results showed that pre-treatment thrombocytosis was significantly associated with OS (HR=1.722; 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.437–2.064) and PFS (HR=1.452; 95% CI=1.323–1.593) in the cohort. Significant correlation was found in OS and PFS between pre-treatment thrombocytosis and both epithelial OC (all stages and differentiation degrees of OC) and advanced epithelial OC (III or IV) by subgroup analyses, which were performed according to publication year, country, case numbers, OC category, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage, and cut-off value. However, subgroup analyses indicated no significant correlation between pre-treatment thrombocytosis and OS for patients with high-grade serous (poorly differentiated or undifferentiated) OC (HR=1.220; 95% CI=0.946–1.573; p=0.125). Egger's test demonstrated no obvious publication bias in the articles enrolled in this study (OS: p=0.226; PFS: p=0.071). Conclusion: Pre-treatment thrombocytosis might be taken as an independent prognostic indicator for patients with OC.

        인문,사회과학편 : 노인전담체육지도자의 직무특성과 직무만족 및 조직헌신도 관계에서의 임파워먼트 매개효과

        본 연구에서는 노인전담지도자의 직무특성과 직무만족, 조직헌신의 관계에 임파워먼트의 매개효과 분석을 위해 2008년 8월 광주ㆍ전남 생활체육협의회 어르신전담지도자를 모집단으로 선정하여, 최종 61명의 자료를 사용하였다. 연구모형 적합도와 가설 검증을 위해 구조방정식모형분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 설정한 모형은 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 가설 검증에 따른 결론은 첫째301, 지도자들의 직무특성은 임파워먼트의 ‘자기결정력’, ‘영향력’, ‘의미성’, ‘역량’에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 지도자들의 임파워먼트 하위요인인 ‘자기결정력’, ‘영향력’, ‘의미성’, ‘역량’은 직무만족에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지도자들의 임파워먼트 중 ‘자기결정력’을 제외한 모든 요인에서 조직헌신에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to analyze empirically the mediating effect of empowerment on the relationship between job characteristic, job satisfaction, and organizational committment of the leaders of sports for all to the old in order to examine what meanings empowerment has for such leaders and whether empowerment is appropriate as the factor to change work environment and establish the thorough sense of mission for their organizations. In order to achieve this purpose, this study selected as the population the leaders of sports for all to the old who worked in Gwangju/Jeollanamdo Council of Sports for All as of August, 2008. And so, this study conducted questionnaire survey. On the basis of these results, the conclusions according to hypotheses testing were as follows. First, the job characteristic of the leaders of sports for all to the old had the significant influence on self-determination, impact, meaning, and competence as empowerment sub-factors. Second, self-determination, impact, meaning, and competence as the empowerment sub-factors of the leaders of sports for all to the old had no influence on job satisfaction. Third, self-determination as the empowerment sub-factor of the leaders of sports for all to the old had the significant influence on organizational committment, but impact, meaning, and competence had no influence on organizational commitment.

      • Mining Opinion Word from Customer Review

        Online customer review is considered as a significant informative resource which is useful for both potential customer and product manufacturers. As a result, it is one of the most challenging tasks to mine customer reviews automatically and to provide users with opinion summary. Product features and opinion word play the most important roles in the customers’ opinions mining. In this paper, we dedicate our work to opinion word mining. We proposed an approach for opinion word identification based on the association rule mining algorithm. The method makes full use of co-occurrence syntactic characteristic between product features and opinion word. Firstly, the product feature is identified by two-stage filtering scheme, and secondly the opinion word is extracted through association rule mining. The final experiment results show that the proposed method could not only obtain the product features related to domain characteristics, but identify the opinion word effectively. Meanwhile, our approach possesses much higher precision and recall than Hu’s work.

        In situ Cross-linked Chitosan Composite Superfine Fiber via Electrospinning and Thermal Treatment for Supporting Palladium Catalyst

        Uniform chitosan fibers (CS/PEO) with diameter of 398±76 nm were prepared by electrospinning with merely 5 wt.% of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) loading, and then annealed at elevated temperature without the use of additional crosslinker to improve the thermostability and solvent resistance. Swelling test shows that the CS/PEO composite fibers annealed at 200 oC were stable in 50 wt.% acetic acid aqueous solution. The mechanical strength test shows that the annealing temperature can affect the tensile strength of CS/PEO composite fiber mat. The cross-linked CS/PEO composite fibers provide a useful platform for the immobilization of palladium catalyst to catalyze the Mizoroki-Heck reactions of aromatic halides with olefins. Moreover, these CS/PEO composite fibers could be post modified with special ligands to chelate palladium species efficiently to further improve the catalytic activity and stability.

        A Multimodal Fusion Method Based on a Rotation Invariant Hierarchical Model for Finger-based Recognition

        Multimodal biometric-based recognition has been an active topic because of its higher convenience in recent years. Due to high user convenience of finger, finger-based personal identification has been widely used in practice. Hence, taking Finger-Print (FP), Finger-Vein (FV) and Finger-Knuckle-Print (FKP) as the ingredients of characteristic, their feature representation were helpful for improving the universality and reliability in identification. To usefully fuse the multimodal finger-features together, a new robust representation algorithm was proposed based on hierarchical model. Firstly, to obtain more robust features, the feature maps were obtained by Gabor magnitude feature coding and then described by Local Binary Pattern (LBP). Secondly, the LGBP-based feature maps were processed hierarchically in bottom-up mode by variable rectangle and circle granules, respectively. Finally, the intension of each granule was represented by Local-invariant Gray Features (LGFs) and called Hierarchical Local-Gabor-based Gray Invariant Features (HLGGIFs). Experiment results revealed that the proposed algorithm is capable of improving rotation variation of finger-pose, and achieving lower Equal Error Rate (EER) in our homemade database.

        Naphthalene diimide-based small molecule acceptors for fullerene-free organic solar cells

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Non-fullerene acceptors have attracted great attention as an alternative to fullerene derivatives to overcome their disadvantages such as limited molecular design due to fullerene moiety, electronic tuning via structural modification, and weak absorption in the visible range. In this work, we design a new class of naphthalenediimide (NDI)-based small molecule acceptors by introducing an NDI central core unit and A-D-A-D-A-type moiety. The NDI-TR is a promising material as an electron acceptor for OSCs because of many advantages including high electron affinity and electron mobility, and well-matched energy levels with polymer donors. The device based on NDI-TR had the highest fill factor (0.69) and power conversion efficiency (3.07%) among fullerene-free organic solar cells with NDI small molecule acceptors. This high device efficiency may be attributed to improved charge transport and minimized bimolecular recombination due to the smooth surface roughness and pronounced face-on orientation of polymer backbones in the bulk heterojunction film.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We synthesized new class of NDI-based small molecule acceptors. </LI> <LI> NDI-based small molecule acceptors have many advantages including high electron affinity and electron mobility, and well-matched energy levels with polymer donors. </LI> <LI> The device with NDI-TR had the highest FF and PCE among fullerene-free organic solar cells with NDI small molecule acceptors. </LI> <LI> Improved charge transport and minimized bimolecular recombination by smooth surface roughness and pronounced face-on orientation of polymer backbones resulted in high device efficiency. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • A State-of-art of Experimental Research and Calculated Models of Dowel-type Timber Connections in Fire

        Fire safety is one of the most significant issues for the design of mid-rise and high-rise timber structures. A large number of experimental tests were conducted during the last three decades to investigate the fire performance of the dowel-type timber connections. Many influenced parameters (e.g. the thickness of the side timber, the load ratio, the fasteners type etc.) were considered in those experiments. Relevant calculated models were proposed by previous researchers to estimate the fire resistance of the connections. In this study, a series of experimental programs of dowel-type connections in fire are collected. Then, empirical formulas proposed by EN 1995-1-2, Fire safety in timber buildings, and previous researchers are presented and analyzed. The accuracy of those formulas is checked by comparisons between the experimental data and estimated results. The collected experimental research and empirical formulas can be used as the reference for the fire design of dowel-type timber connections in the future.
