        Transformation of Inorganic P Fractions of Soil and Plant Growth Promotion by Phosphate-solubilizing Ability of Penicillium oxalicum I1

        The solubilization of tricalcium phosphate is often consideredas the standard for screening of most phosphate-solubilizingmicroorganisms (PSMs). However, usually the effectof large-scale application of PSM on the promotion of cropgrowth varies. This study presents an efficient method forscreening and testing phosphate-solubilizing fungus thatenhance plant growth. A fungus Penicillium oxalicum I1 (PI1)was isolated and identified that had high ability of phosphate-solubilization and could utilize maize root exudates assources, and propagate well in vitro and in soil. P-I1 excretedoxalic acid and reached 593.9 μg/ml, and the pH value wasdecreased from 6.90 to 1.65 in 26 h. The amount of P-I1 increasedby 48-fold in 28 d and was maintained for 49 d insoil. PSM showed selectivity on the transformation of thedifferent forms of phosphorus, a wide range of insolublephosphates, such as Ca8H2(PO4)6·5H2O, AlPO4, FePO4, andCa10(PO4)6(OH)2, were converted to soluble CaHPO4 in soil,and CaHPO4 was also inhibited from being converted intoinsoluble phosphate by P-I1. The Ca2-P content reached 27.11μg/g soil on day 28 at 20°C, which increased by 110.32%,and plant growth promotion was tested and verified, theresults showed that maize yield increased remarkably thancontrol after inoculated P-I1, maize yield increased maximumby 14.47%. The data presented that P-I1 appear attractivefor exploring their plant growth-promoting activityand potential field application.

        Analysis of Vertical Temperature Difference of the Low-Speed Maglev Steel Girder Based on Measured Data

        Track irregularity is strictly controlled in low-speed maglev system. Vertical defl ection due to vertical temperature diff erence is one of the important factors in track irregularity, which should be considered in structural design. In the fi eld of low-speed maglev, few researches have been developed directly about the measurement of temperature and corresponding eff ect. In this paper, the surface temperature and defl ection of a steel box girder in the low-speed maglev experimental line in Shanghai have been measured for several months. Measured surface temperature data are decomposed into temperature trend and fl uctuating part with wavelet based MRA and the former is highly relevant with local climatic. In the analysis of probability distribution characteristics of the vertical temperature diff erence, three weighted probability models are compared, and the weighted sum model of one Weibull distribution and one normal distribution is appropriate, based on which the standard values of the temperature diff erence with 50-year return period are derived. To determine the correlation between the temperature diff erence and defl ection, scatter plots of equivalent linear temperature diff erence obtained by defl ection and measured temperature diff erence were fi tted, and the results shows an approximate linear relationship.

        Models and Experiments for the Main Topologies of MRC-WPT Systems

        Models and experiments for magnetic resonance coupling wireless power transmission (MRC-WPT) topologies such as the chain topology and branch topology are studied in this paper. Coupling mode theory based energy resonance models are built for the two topologies. Complete energy resonance models including input items, loss coefficients, and coupling coefficients are built for the two topologies. The storage and the oscillation model of the resonant energy are built in the time domain. The effect of the excitation item, loss item, and coupling coefficients on MRC systems are provided in detail. By solving the energy oscillation time domain model, distance enhancing models are established for the chain topology, and energy relocating models are established for the branch topology. Under the assumption that there are no couplings between every other coil or between loads, the maximum transmission capacity conditions are found for the chain topology, and energy distribution models are established for the branch topology. A MRC-WPT experiment was carried out for the verification of the above model. The maximum transmission distance enhancement condition for the chain topology, and the energy allocation model for the branch topology were verified by experiments.

        Aeroacoustic Investigation of a Cavity with and without Doors by Delayed Detached Eddy Simulation

        In the present study, an effort was made to numerically investigate rectangular cavity aeroacoustics with and without doors. The simulation was performed on an open cavity with an aspect ratio of 5:1:1 at Mach 0.85 using the delayed detached eddy simulation (DDES) approach based on the Spalart-Allmaras model. Two cavity configurations, a clean cavity and a cavity with doors, were modeled. The results obtained from the clean cavity were compared with the experimental sound pressure levels (SPL) and the root mean square for the pressures applied. Furthermore, comparisons of frequencies were made using a modified semi-empirical Rossiter formula. The simulation using DDES precisely predicted the pressure fluctuation and the results matched the experiment quite well. The SPLs at the rear of the cavity were much higher than those in the front due to the instability of the shear layer impinging on the rear wall. Comparisons of DDES for the clean cavity and the doors-on cavity revealed that the SPLs inside the cavity as well as the magnitude of tones are amplified by the side doors. The main focus of this investigation was to obtain a better understanding of the open cavity acoustic resonance phenomenon and investigate the effects of cavity doors on the SPL.

        High Genetic Variability of Schistosoma haematobium in Mali and Nigeria

        Schistosoma haematobium is one of the most prevalent parasitic flatworms, infecting over 112 million people in Africa. However, little is known about the genetic diversity of natural S. haematobium populations from the human host because of the inaccessible location of adult worms in the host. We used 4 microsatellite loci to genotype individually pooled S. haematobium eggs directly from each patient sampled at 4 endemic locations in Africa. We found that the average allele number of individuals from Mali was significantly higher than that from Nigeria. In addition, no significant difference in allelic composition was detected among the populations within Nigeria; however, the allelic composition was significantly different between Mali and Nigeria populations. This study demonstrated a high level of genetic variability of S. haematobium in the populations from Mali and Nigeria, the 2 major African endemic countries, suggesting that geographical population differentiation may occur in the regions.

        Main Content Extraction from Web Pages Based on Node Characteristics

        Main content extraction of web pages is widely used in search engines, web content aggregation and mobile Internet browsing. However, a mass of irrelevant information such as advertisement, irrelevant navigation and trash information is included in web pages. Such irrelevant information reduces the efficiency of web content processing in content-based applications. The purpose of this paper is to propose an automatic main content extraction method of web pages. In this method, we use two indicators to describe characteristics of web pages: text density and hyperlink density. According to continuous distribution of similar content on a page, we use an estimation algorithm to judge if a node is a content node or a noisy node based on characteristics of the node and neighboring nodes. This algorithm enables us to filter advertisement nodes and irrelevant navigation. Experimental results on 10 news websites revealed that our algorithm could achieve a 96.34% average acceptable rate.

        Ardipusilloside-I stimulates gastrointestinal motility and phosphorylation of smooth muscle myosin by myosin light chain kinase

        Ardipusilloside-I is a natural triterpenoid saponin, which was isolated from Ardisia pusilla A. DC. The aim of the study was to evaluate the stimulation of ardipusilloside-I on gastrointestinal motility in vitro and in vivo. The experiment of smooth muscle contraction directly monitored the contractions of the isolated jejunal segment (IJS) in different contractile states, and the effects of ardipusilloside-I on myosin were measured in the presence of Ca2+-calmodulin using the activities of 20 kDa myosin light chain (MLC20) phosphorylation and myosin Mg2+-ATPase. The effects of ardipusilloside-I on gastro emptying and intestinal transit in constipation-predominant rats were observed, and the MLCK expression in jejuna of constipated rats was determined by western blot. The results showed that, ardipusilloside-I increased the contractility of IJS in a dose-dependent manner and reversed the low contractile state (LCS) of IJS induced by low Ca2+, adrenaline, and atropine respectively. There were synergistic effects on contractivity of IJS between ardipusilloside-I and ACh, high Ca2+, and histamine, respectively. Ardipusilloside-I could stimulate the phosphorylation of MLC20 and Mg2+-ATPase activities of Ca2+- dependent phosphorylated myosin. Ardipusilloside-I also stimulated the gastric emptying and intestinal transit in normal and constipated rats in vivo, respectively, and increased the MLCK expression in the jejuna of constipation-predominant rats. Briefly, the findings demonstrated that ardipusilloside-I could effectively excite gastrointestinal motility in vitro and in vivo.
