        A Study of the Impacts on Electronic Distribution Industry after Korea-China FTA

        Purpose - This study attempted to discover the impact of the Korea-China FTA(Free Trade Agreement) on electronic products distribution industry. Strategies will be provided to expand both countries' trade after the Korea-China FTA. Research design, data, and methodology - This study analyzed the differences before and after the Korea-China FTA, using an RCA(Revealed Comparative Advantage) index, TC(Technology Sophistication Index) index and TSI(Trade Specialization Index) that considered the FTA tariff situation. Data was collected from the International Trade Statistics Database and Korea, China Customs Service. Results - The results indicate that following the Korea-China FTA, China and Korea’s bilateral trade of electronic products is expected to expand, and both countries will experience net welfare gains from the markets’ expansion. Korea is competitive in several key products, although it faces competition from China. China's electronic products' competitiveness have indicated an increasing trend. Conclusions - The two countries should closely cooperate and communicate with each other. Ultimately, Korea should focus on high-tech, sophisticated techniques to gain market advantage. On the other hand, with the tariff decrease as well as the labor cost and labor force base, China will greatly be able to benefit from the manufacturing of medium- to low-end products in the future.

      • IBM Zigbee Positioning Method for Smart Home Applications

        This paper presents a smart home system prototype which employs an indoor positioning system called the III Beacon Match (I3BM) positioning method to intelligently trigger the appropriately services for the home members. To overcome the ninja problem in the I3BM method, the signal filtering, adjustment and smooth procedures are proposed. The proposed system prototype employs the Zigbee module to implement the prototypes of the components for the I3BM positioning method, and the prototypes had passed the ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP) certification test. The proposed system prototype which intelligently controls the air condition and light system for smart home applications is also verifying in our demo room and in the smart house in National Taiwan University.

      • Enhancing Association Rule Mining with a Profit Based Approach

        With the continuous growth of e-commerce there is a huge amount of products information available online. Shop managers expect to apply information techniques to increase profit and perfect service. Hence many e-commerce systems use association rule mining to further refine their management. However previous association rule algorithms have two limitations. Firstly, they only use the number to weight item’s essentiality and ignore essentiality of item profit. Secondly, they did not consider the relationship between number and profit of item when they do mining. We address a novel algorithm, profit-based association rule algorithm that uses profit-based technique to generate 1-itemsets and the multiple minimum supports mining technique to generate N-items large itemsets.

        DEA 모델을 이용한 중국 물류 산업의 효율성 분석에 관한 연구

        경제 발전에 따라서 물류산업이 한 나라 경제에 중요한 부분 되었다. 본 논문은 DEA 모델에서 CCR과 BCC 모델을 선택하고 DEAP 2.1을 사용하여 중국의 31 개 성 과 자치구의 투입-산출 효율성을 분석하였다. 2016 년 중국 통계청에 발표한 데이터를 사용하여 분석 결과에 따르면 현제 중국 물류 산업은 높은 규모 효율성을 보이지만 낮은 기술 효율성은 물류 산업의 종합 발전에서 병목 현상이 되고 있다. 중국 4개 경제지역 에는 다소간의 불필요한 건설과 맹목적인 투자 현상을 보인다. 동부 지역은 기존 자원을 합리적으로 사용해야하며 중부 지역은 통합 물류 기지를 설립해야한다. 서부 및 동북부 지역의 물류 개발은 국가 지원 정책의 혜택을 입었다. 복합 운송은 서부 지역의 상황에 따라 고려 될 수 있다. Considering economic development, the logistics industry has become an important part of a country s economy. This study chose CCR (Named after its developer Chames, Cooper and Rhodes) and BCC (Banker, Charnes and Cooper) models of DEA (data envelopment analysis) with DEAP 2.1, and analyzed the input-output efficiency based on China s 31 provinces and autonomous regions. Data were collected from China National Statistical Yearbook 2016. According to the research results, the scale efficiency of China s logistics industry has maintained a high point but it s poor technical efficiency has become a bottleneck of the development for comprehensive efficiency. Each economic region has redundant constructions at different degrees and among them, the Eastern and Central regions have the most construction redundancies and waste resources. Eastern region should make rational use of existing resources while Central region must establish integrated logistics bases. Western and Northeast region are most benefited by fixed assessment investment under the promotion policies. Combined transportation can be considered based on Western region s situation.

        『논어』에서 “인”(仁)과 “지”(智)의 관계

        사람들은 흔히 어짐(仁)은 지혜를 전제로 한다고 생각한다. 그러나 이는 어짐과 지혜 사이의 관계에 대한 큰 오독이다. 논리적으로 말하면, 어짐과 지혜는 서로 독립적이다. 어짐은 지혜를 전제로 하지 않으며, 지혜도 어짐을 전제로 하지 않는다. 그러나 현실에서 실제로, 어짐과 지혜가 섞여 있고 완전히 독립적이지는 않다. 공자는 어짐과 지혜의 조화를 주장하며, 어짐과 지혜는 공자의 이상이다. 그러나 가치 지향에서 어짐은 여전히 지혜보다 우선순위에 있다. 만약 어짐과 지혜가 결합할 수 없다면 차라리 지혜를 버리고 어짐을 취한다. 공자의 어짐이 지혜에 우선한다는 가치 지향은 인간의 가치 실현이 평등성과 독립성을 가지게 하였다. 이러한 가치 지향은 여전히 현대인의 가치관 형성에 긍정적 인 의미를 갖는다. People have often thought that ren must be based on wisdom. This is a misreading of the relationship between ren and wisdom. Logically speaking, ren and wisdom are independent of each other, ren is not based on wisdom, and wisdom is not based on ren. However, on reality, ren and wisdom is always blend with each other and can not be completely independent. Confucius advocated ren associated with wisdom, however, on the value orientation, ren is prior to wisdom. This value orientation ensures the equality and autonomy of the realization of human value, which still has a positive meaning to the values-molding of contemporary people.

      • A Family of Single-Stage Single-Switch PV MICs with Steep Conversion Gain

        In this paper, a family of single-stage single-switch photovoltaic (PV) module integrated converters (MICs) with steep voltage conversion gain capability and galvanic isolation is presented. As an illustration, the new MIC topology based on the isolated-type single-ended primary-inductor converter (Sepic) with coupled inductor is analyzed and developed. Moreover, a fast maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy with linear current control is adapted in the proposed SEPIC-type PV MIC. Finally, a speciation of single-phase 150W prototype is constructed, and experimental results indeed verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

      • Clinicopathologic Characteristics and Prognoses for Multicentric Occurrence and Intrahepatic Metastasis in Synchronous Multinodular Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients

        Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide, and the outcomes for patients are still poor. It is important to determine the original type of synchronous multinodular HCC for preoperative assessment and the choice of treatment therapy as well as for the prediction of prognosis after treatment. Aims: To analyze clinicopathologic characteristics and prognoses in patients with multicentric occurrence (MO) and intrahepatic metastasis (IM) of synchronous multinodular hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: The study group comprised 42 multinodular HCC patients with a total of 112 nodules. The control group comprised 20 HCC patients with 16 single nodular HCC cases and 4 HCC cases with a portal vein tumor emboli. The mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) D-loop region was sequenced, and the patients of the study group were categorized as MO or IM based on the sequence variations. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to determine the important clinicopathologic characteristics in the two groups. Results: In the study group, 20 cases were categorized as MO, and 22 as IM, whereas all 20 cases in the control group were characterized as IM. Several factors significantly differed between the IM and MO patients, including hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), cumulative tumor size, tumor nodule location, cirrhosis, portal vein and/or microvascular tumor embolus and the histological grade of the primary nodule. Multivariate analysis further demonstrated that cirrhosis and portal vein and/or microvascular tumor thrombus were independent factors differentiating between IM and MO patients. The tumor-free survival time of the MO subjects was significantly longer than that of the IM subjects ($25.7{\pm}4.8$ months vs. $8.9{\pm}3.1$ months, p=0.017). Similarly, the overall survival time of the MO subjects was longer ($31.6{\pm}5.3$ months vs. $15.4{\pm}3.4$ months, p=0.024). The multivariate analysis further demonstrated that the original type (p=0.035) and Child-Pugh grade (p<0.001) were independent predictors of tumor-free survival time. Cirrhosis (p=0.011), original type (p=0.034) and Child-Pugh grade (p<0.001) were independent predictors of overall survival time. Conclusions: HBeAg, cumulative tumor size, tumor nodule location, cirrhosis, portal vein and/or microvascular tumor embolus and histological grade of the primary nodule are important factors for differentiating IM and MO. MO HCC patients might have a favorable outcome compared with IM patients.
