Ag:CdO nanocubes and nanosphere were synthesised via ultrasonic assisted green approach using Citrus limon leaves and applied for photodegradation. Nanocubes and nanosphere morphology were evident from SEM and TEM. The degradation time and apparent rate constant (from pseudo-first-order) for (2%) Ag:CdO@MB, (2%) Ag:CdO@Rh-B, (5%) Ag:CdO@MB and (5%) Ag:CdO@Rh-B system were t = 33 min (K = 0.088 min−1), t = 42 min (K = 0.032 min−1), t = 18 min (K = 0.11 min−1), t = 24 min (K = 0.0759 min−1), respectively. (5%) Ag:CdO conserve 92% of its activity after five repeated cycle. Generation of HO and O2− radicals lead photodegradation. Photocatalytic mechanism was elucidated and degradation pattern followed pseudo-first order kinetics.

The data presented herein reports a rapid and efficient method for direct plant regeneration at high frequency without intervening callus formation from shoot tip (93%) and nodal segment (60%) cultured on MS media supplemented with 0.5 mg l-¹ KIN, 0.25 mg l-¹ BAP, 0.1 mg l-¹ IAA and 100 mg l-¹ CH. Conversely, leaf and internodal explants were poorly responsive. Adventitious shoot buds arose not only from the cut ends but all along the surface of the explants leading to the formation of clusters with multiple shoots. Multiple shoots upon transfer to MS media supplemented with 2.0 mg l-¹ IBA induced efficient rooting (80%). In vitro flowering was observed when tissue culture-raised plantlets were maintained for extended period in culture. Shikonin was induced in roots of regenerated plants which often exudates in the culture medium was quantified spectrophotometerically by recording absorbance at 620 nm and estimated to be 0.50 mg g-¹ fresh weight of tissue at the end of the 50 days of culture. The regenerated plants were successfully acclimatized, hardened, and transferred to soil in green house for micropropagation. The protocol developed here will be very useful for the supply of Arnebia hispidissima all year as a raw product necessary for obtaining Shikonin for the cosmetic, dyeing, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
South Asian Working Action Group on SARCOpenia (SWAG-SARCO) – A consensus document
Minakshi Dhar,Nitin Kapoor,Ketut Suastika,Mohammad E. Khamseh,Shahjada Selim,Vijay Kumar,Syed Abbas Raza,Umal Azmat,Monika Pathania,Yovan Parikshat Rai Mahadeb,Sunny Singhal,Mohammad Wali Naseri,IGP S 대한골다공증학회 2022 Osteoporosis and Sarcopenia Vol.8 No.2
The South Asian population is rapidly ageing and sarcopenia is likely to become a huge burden in this region if proper action is not taken in time. Several sarcopenia guidelines are available, from the western world and from East Asia. However, these guidelines are not fully relevant for the South Asian healthcare ecosystem. South Asia is ethnically, culturally, and phenotypically unique. Additionally, the region is seeing an increase in non-communicable lifestyle disease and obesity. Both these conditions can lead to sarcopenia. However, secondary sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity are either not dealt with in detail or are missing in other guidelines. Hence, we present a consensus on the screening, diagnosis and management of sarcopenia, which addresses the gaps in the current guidelines. This South Asian consensus gives equal importance to muscle function, muscle strength, and muscle mass; provides cost-effective clinical and easy to implement solutions; highlights secondary sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity; lists commonly used biomarkers; reminds us that osteo-arthro-muscular triad should be seen as a single entity to address sarcopenia; stresses on prevention over treatment; and prioritizes nonpharmacological over pharmacological management. As literature is scarce from this region, the authors call for more South Asian research guided interventions.

Purpose: Children with epilepsy commonly have cognitive deficits; however, full-length neuropsychological testing is time- and resource-intensive. Therefore, we evaluated the feasibility of using the modified Mini-Mental Scale Examination (MMSE) and the Digit Letter Substitution Test (DLST) to screen children with epilepsy for cognitive deficits. Methods: This was a prospective case-control study comparing scores on the MMSE and the DLST in children with epilepsy with normal age-matched controls between 8 and 12 years of age. Results: In 35 cases and 36 controls, the cases had significantly lower (P<0.05) mean scores than the controls. The correlation coefficient between the MMSE and DLST scores was 0.902 (P<0.001). Children with developmental or speech delays and an epilepsy duration ≥5 years had lower scores than those without the corresponding risk factors. Conclusion: This study demonstrated significantly lower scores on the MMSE and DLST in children with epilepsy than in controls, as well as significantly lower scores in patients with developmental or speech delays and an epilepsy duration ≥5 years.
Some Theorems in Approximation by Linear Combinations of Modi?ed Baskakov Type Operators
Minakshi Gaur ...et al KYUNGPOOK UNIVERSITY 1999 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.39 No.1
In the present paper, we study some direct results in L_(p)-approximation by the linear combinations of a certain class of modi fied Baskakov operators. The estimate of error in L_(p)-approximation in terms of higher order integral modulus of smoothness is obtained using the technique of Steklov means.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The earthquake (EQ) time coupling processes between equator-low-mid latitude ionosphere are complex due to inherent dynamical status of each latitudinal zone and qualified geomagnetic roles working in the system. In an attempt to identify such process, the paper presents temporal and latitudinal variations of ionization density (foF2) covering 45°N to 35°S, during a number of earthquake events (M > 5.5). The approaches adopted for extraction of features by the earthquake induced preparatory processes are discussed in the paper through identification of parameters like the ‘EQ time modification in density gradient’ defined by δ = (foF2 max − foF2 min)∕τmm, where τmm – time span (in days) between EQ modified density maximum and minimum, and the Earthquake time Equatorial Anomaly, i.e. EEA, one of the most significant phenomenon which develops even during night time irrespective of epicenter position. Based on the observations, the paper presents the seismic time coupling dynamics through anomaly like manifestations between equator, low and mid latitude ionosphere bringing in the global Total Electron Content (TEC) features as supporting indices.</P>
