The development of Lever One Way Clutch System for Torque Converter

This study has been studied due to the reduction space and cost of the torque converter. Gradually, the torque converter in the transmission system is demanding reduction of the torus space and cost, thus suggesting a lever one way clutch system technology that replaces the one way clutch and compared the fluid performance with lever one way clutch system and the general one way clutch system. Unlike conventional one way clutch, lever one way clutch has been developed using the fluid torque and pressure. The axial direction fluid load of the reactor was calculated and the load was distributed through the lever ratio. Distributed reaction force was confirmed by Ansys simulation, and was compared with the general one way clutch test performance. This study provides fundamental knowledge of design for replacing a general one way when it is required to reduce the axial dimension of torque converter mounted on a transmission of an internal combustion engine or a hybrid.
