The studied area lies from 37°41’N to 37°49’N in latitude and from 128°20’E to 128°30,E in longitude. The erosion cycle of the area seems to be belong to the early mature stage. The Geology of the area is consist mainly of the metamorphic rocks, some sedimsntary rocks and igneous rocks. The basement of this area is the migmatic banded gneiss which is belong to the Pre-Cambrian period. Igneous rocks are composed of biotite granite, diorite, and porphyry. There are many major or minor foldings and a large fault which strike is almost NS. As the geologic structure and the rocks in this area are very complicated, the more detail studies will have to carry out contineously.

의류제품에 대한 소비자의 품질평가기준

The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of consumer evaluative criteria based on clothing quality percerption of adult males and females. A demonstrative study was conducted using a questionnaire on adults over 20 years old who were considered to afford to purchase clothes. A total of 650 questionnaires were distributed, and among them, 380 were used for the demonstrative analysis. The study used SPSSWIN V.8.0 for the analysis. Factor analysis and reliability analysis were introduced as analysis methods using the varimax rotation to classify consumer evaluative criteria for clothing purchasing. In addition frequency analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, multiple regression analysis, and duncan test are executed. The study result is as follows. First, expectation, importance and performance are examined by customer quality perception. Four factors- Practicability, care, aesthetics, and symbolism- are classified through the factor analysis of 19 evaluative attributes based on importance. Second, differences of quality perception for expectation, importance and performance were found partly in customers' demographic characteristics. Third, the influential relation of satisfaction and quality perception is examined. Aesthetics and practicability have significant influence on the general satisfaction of evaluative attributes by performance.

The Lateral Tarsal Strip for Paralytic Ectropion in Patients with Leprosy

Background: In patients with leprosy, paralysis of the facial nerve results in the lower eyelid ectropion and lagophthalmos as a sequela even when the leprosy is cured. Paralytic ectropion causes many functional and cosmetic eye problems, leading to blindness if left untreated. Objective: The purpose of this retrospective study is to evaluate the efficacy of surgical correction of paralytic ectropion, the lateral tarsal strip, in patients with leprosy. Methods: Between 2010 and 2015, 40 Korean patients (44 eyelids) with paralytic ectropion who had visited Korean Hansen Welfare Association Hospital were treated with the lateral tarsal strip. Four-point patients’ global assessment scale, local complications, and recurrence were assessed at the end of follow-up period. The average follow-up period was 12 months. Results: In the 44 eyelids, recurrence was observed in 5 cases (5/44, 11.4%). There were no serious postoperative complications except mild size discrepancy of both eyes. Most patients were satisfied with the results and mean satisfaction scale was 2.6/3. Conclusion: The lateral tarsal strip is a simple, safe, and effective treatment method for the dermatologic surgeon to correct paralytic ectropion of mild to moderate degree in patients with leprosy. Fiddler`s Neck Accompanied by Allergic Contact Dermatitis to Nickel in a Viola Player

Fiddler`s neck is an irritant contact dermatitis that frequently affects violin and viola players. The etiology of the skin changes associated with this condition are probably attributable to a combination of factors-including increased pressure, friction, poor hygiene, and excessive perspiration. Clinically, the lesions generally consist of a localized area of lichenification on the left side of the neck just below the angle of the jaw. Herein, we report a case of fiddler`s neck in a viola player, attended by allergic contact dermatitis to the nickel in the metal fixtures of a viola. We hope that our case report draws the attention of dermatologists toward this, and many other skin problems that affect musicians. (Ann Dermatol 22(1) 88∼90, 2010)

御來山地域의 褐簾石鑛床

A study of rare-earth mineralization in Kyemyungsan metasedimentary formation of Precambrian Ogcheon Group was carried out in the Mt. Eore Area near Choongju City based on the thorium (Th) and uranium (U) count data of geophysical airborne survey. This rare-earth mineralization was found in the magnetite-bearing banded quartizite which contains diagnostically some amounts of the metamict allanite. The brown colored allanites are distributed as aggregates of fine grains and sometimes banded structures with magnetite (inter growth) along the banding. The ore bed is displaced by the small faults and granite intrusions, and separated 5 ore blocks. The dimensions of the outcrop are 50-80 m in width, 1,500 m in length with the strike of N70-80°E and dip of 50-80°NW. In the field, the values of total gamma ray count of GR-101A scintillometer were able to measure more than 400 cps and maximum 1,500 cps, which data are coincided with the values of GR-310 gamma ray spectrometer and the gamma ray count of well logging data. The chemical compositions of the allanites from EPMA data are ranged fromΣTR₂O₃ 18.57% to 26.00%, and the cerium oxides (Ce₂O₃) of allanite are positive relation with La₂O₃, MgO, FeO, MnO and negative relation with SiO₂, Al₂O₃, Nd₂O₃. The result of Neutron Activation Analysis (N.A.A.), Multi-Channel Analysis (M.C.A.) and wet chemistry of 25 outcrop samples for the elements of REE, Zr, U, Th shows strong anomalies. The good correlation elements with the thorium (Th) are the elements of La, Ce, LREE, TR₂O₃, Pr, Sm, Yb, Lu by the increasing order.

The Changing Structure of Demand-Supply for Mineral Resources in South Korea

The accelerated industrialization of Korean economy over the last couple of decades has brought an era of mass consumption of mineral commodities. This increased consumption has been satisfied mainly by imports from abroad. South Korea has about 50 useful mineral commodities for the mineral industry, among 330 kinds of minerals described. In 1988 the self-sufficiency ratio of domestic demand for 44 non-fuel(metallic and non-metallic) minerals as a whole was no more than 29 percent. The ratio for 26 non-metallic minerals was much higher, about 66 percent. On the other hand, the ratio for 18 metallic minerals was relatively very low, about 6.3 percent. The correlation between GNP and mineral consumption in South Korea shows well the slow down patterns during the last two decades. 지난 20年間 韓國經濟의 持續的인 産業發展은 鑛物資源의 大量消費時代를 이룩하였다. 그러나 이와 같은 消費의 急成長은 大部分 外國으로부터의 輸入에 依存하였다. 韓國에서는 330余 鑛種이 알려져왔으며, 그중에서 50여種이 産業原料 鑛物資源으로 利用되고 있다. 1988年 燃料鑛物資源을 除外한 全體 金屬 非金屬 原料鑛物資源의 國內 自給度는 29% 였고, 26種의 非金屬 鑛物은 그 自給度가 66%로 比較的 높은 편이나, 18種의 金屬鑛物의 경우는 그 自給度가 6.3%에 불과한 實情이다. 1970年代 以后 우리나라의 經濟發展 단계에서 國民總生産量과 鑛物消費와의 관계는 아주 완만한 變化樣狀을 보이고 있다.

Childhood Lichen Planus with Palmoplantar Involvement

Lichen planus (LP) commonly involves the flexor aspects of the wrists, legs, and oral and genital mucous membranes. But it rarely occurs on the palms and/or soles. It mainly affects people in the age range 30∼60 years. Childhood LP is reported to constitute only 1∼4% of total cases of LP. In the literature, a few cases of LP on the palms and soles of pediatric patients have been reported. Here we report an interesting case of childhood LP with palmoplantar involvement. The patient was a 7-year-old boy who for 6 months had variously sized and shaped, pruritic, violaceous, polygonal papules and plaques on the whole body. The skin biopsy specimens taken from four sites of the patient (dorsum of the hand and foot, sole and chest) showed typical features of LP on histopathology. A diagnosis of generalized LP with palmoplantar involvement was made. (Ann Dermatol 22(1) 51∼53, 2010)
