지능형 컴퓨터 개발 과제에서 사용자 인터페이스 역할을 담당할 멀티미디어 I/O 인터페이스에서 다루어야 할 멀티미디어의 종류와 이를 위한 디바이스에 대해 알아본다. 미디어의 종류로서 문장, 그래픽스, 음성, 영상 등의 미디어를 선정하고 이들과 관련된 처리 기술들을 살펴본다. 그리고 이들의 입출력 및 처리를 담당할 디바이스들의 종류를 살펴보고 이들이 갖추어야 할 최소한의 요건들을 제시한다.

Tetralogy of Fallot with subarterial ventricular septal defect is known to be relatively common in the Far East. Among the 140 consecutive patients who underwent repair for tetralogy, 15 [10,7@] had this variant form of tetralogy. Though the degree of pulmonic stenosis seems only mild or moderately severe because of the absence of infundibular septum and relatively large size of pulmonary arteries in this type of tetralogy, it has a special surgical implication that a patch widening of the right ventriculotomy is necessary in every case to avoid the postoperative subpulmonic stenosis. A morphological and surgical features of tetralogy with subarterial VSD are presented.

Ocular drug delivery has been a well-knownroute for the drug administration for the treatment of oculardiseases. However, numerous anatomical and physiologicalbarriers prevailing in the eye itself create considerablechallenges for achieving the necessitated therapeutic efficacyalong with ocular bioavailability. However, recentadvances in nanoengineered strategies hold definite promisesin terms of devising improved ophthalmic medicinesfor the effective drug delivery to target the sites withenhanced ocular bioavailability. Curcumin, a hydrophobicpolyphenol yellow colored compound, and its metabolicreduced product, tetrahydrocurcumin (THC), have beenknown for their beneficial pharmacological functions, suchas anti-inflammatory or anti-oxidant activities at varioustissue sites. However, the low aqueous solubility of thesecompounds results in their poor bioavailability, therebylimiting their widespread application. Therefore, in thepresent study, we investigated the changes in drug solubilityby forming inclusion complexes with differentderivatives of hydroxypropyl (HP)-cyclodextrins (CD). To this end, the spray drying technique was used for nanoengineeringcurcumin or THC-loaded formulations toimprove the stability of formulations during the storage. The formulations were characterized in terms of physicochemicalproperties and cellular permeability. The resultsdemonstrated that the encapsulation of curcumin (or THC)into the HP-CDs significantly increased the drug solubilityand enhanced the corneal and retinal epithelial permeability. Curcumin or THC complexes in HP-CDs withimproved bioavailability also induced anti-oxidant activity(SOD1, CAT1, and HMOX1) in higher levels in the ocularepithelial cells and showed oxidative protection effects inrabbit cornea tissues that will boost up their application inocular medicine.

지능형컴퓨터 개발과제에서 사용자 인터페이스 역할을 담당할 지능형컴퓨터의 멀티미디어 사용자 인터페이스의 역할에 대하여 논한다. 먼저 인간과 컴퓨터와의 정보교환시에 일어나는 인지적현상을 밝히고 이에 근거하여 멀티미디어 사용자 인터페이스를 설계할때의 3원리(Multimedia Dialogue, Interface Transparency, Interface Independancy)를 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 원리에 맞는 지능형 컴퓨터시스템 상에서 멀티미디어 사용자 인터페이스의 위치와 요소를 밝히고, 이들이 사용자에게 제공해야 할 외향적 기능과, 지능형운영체제에 제공해야할 내향적 기능을 열거한다.

Gastric slow waves which reflect neuromuscular activity of stomach, are considered to originate from the circular muscle of the stomach or from the interstitial cells of Cajal on the greater curvature near the junction of the proximal and distal gastric corpus. Therefore, it is suggested that the gastric malignancy occurring at some region of the stomach may affect the gastric myoelectrical activity. Scarse information is available about the changes of myoelectrical activity in patients with gastric cancer. This study was aimed at investigaing the effect of gastric cancer on gastric myoelectrical activity according to the location and depth of invasion. Methods: Seventy patients(mean age: 54.9±12.9yr,M:F=44:26) with gastric cancer and seventy normal controls(mean age: 45.9±11.1yr, M:F=34:36) were included. Gastric myoelectrical activity was recorded via abdominal surface electrodes using an ambulatory electrogastrographic recorder (Digitrapper EGG, Syndics, Irving, TX). The record were analyzed based on running spectral analysis. Electrogastrography was recorded for at least 30-min during fasting and then 30-min after solid test meal(700 Cal, protein 32 gm, fat 15 g, carbohydrate 110 gm). Results: 1) The percentage of normal slow waves(2-4cpm) was 87.5±15.8% in early gastric cancer group(19), 95.4±18.9% in advanced gastric cancer group(81) and 91.3±9.9% in control group(70) in fasting state In postprandial state, the percentages were 85.9±12.7% 89.3±13.9% and 89.7±10.2% respectively. 2) In advanced gastric cancer, there was no statistical difference according to cancer location on gastric myoelectrical activity. 3) The power ratio defined as postprandial slow wave amplitude increment, was normal in most patients between early and advanced cancer group and control group. 4) In 11 patients with antral cancer and partial pyloric obstruction, the percentage of normal slow waves was 93.3±10.9% in fasting state and 92.8±11.2% in postprandial state and amplitude of slow waves in fasting state was significantly higher than in antral cancer without obstruction (p<0.05). Conclusions: There was no significant change in pattern of gastric myoelctrical activity in patients with gastric cancer according to the location and depth of invasion. However, the pyloric obstruction by cancer infiltration produced prominent increase of amplitude in slow waves similar to the effect of other benign obstruction.
