        Spatial Correlation-based Resource Sharing in Cognitive Radio SWIPT Networks

        Cognitive radio-simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (CR-SWIPT) has attracted much interest since it can improve both the spectrum and energy efficiency of wireless networks. This paper focuses on the resource sharing between a point-to-point primary system (PRS) and a multiuser multi-antenna cellular cognitive radio system (CRS) containing a large number of cognitive users (CUs). The resource sharing optimization problem is formulated by jointly scheduling CUs and adjusting the transmit power at the cognitive base station (CBS). The effect of accessing CUs’ spatial channel correlation on the possible transmit power of the CBS is investigated. Accordingly, we provide a low-complexity suboptimal approach termed the semi-correlated semi-orthogonal user selection (SC-SOUS) algorithm to enhance the spectrum efficiency. In the proposed algorithm, CUs that are highly correlated to the information decoding primary receiver (IPR) and mutually near orthogonal are selected for simultaneous transmission to reduce the interference to the IPR and increase the sum rate of the CRS. We further develop a spatial correlation-based resource sharing (SC-RS) strategy to improve energy sharing performance. CUs nearly orthogonal to the energy harvesting primary receiver (EPR) are chosen as candidates for user selection. Therefore, the EPR can harvest more energy from the CBS so that the energy utilization of the network can improve. Besides, zero-forcing precoding and power control are adopted to eliminate interference within the CRS and meet the transmit power constraints. Simulation results and analysis show that, compared with the existing CU selection methods, the proposed low-complex strategy can enhance both the achievable sum rate of the CRS and the energy sharing capability of the network.

        Clinical and Pathologic Features of Multifocal and Multicentric Breast Cancer in Chinese Women: A Retrospective Cohort Study

        Purpose: This study aims to analyze the clinical-pathological characteristics of multifocal and multicentric breast cancer (MMBC) in Chinese women. Methods: Sixty-seven cases with MMBC were randomly collected and reviewed at seven hospitals in representative districts of China during 1999 to 2008. Results: The incidence of MMBC in breast cancer in China was 1.75%. Compared to those with unifocal breast cancer, women with MMBC were more likely to have larger tumor size, lymph node metastasis (59.70% vs. 45.62%) and stage III to IV (46.26% vs. 21.10%). The peak age at onset of MMBC was 40 to 49 years old and has been gradually increasing during 1999 to 2008. Most of the MMBC women were treated with surgery and adjuvant therapy. Conclusion: In China, the incidence of MMBC in breast cancer is significantly lower than that in Western countries. Compared to unifocal breast cancer, MMBC is biologically more aggressive. Most MMBC women underwent mastectomy, instead of breast conservation surgery.

        Reports : Aurora-A kinase-inactive mutants disrupt the interaction with Ajuba and cause defects in mitotic spindle formation and G2/M phase arrest in HeLa cells

        Aurora-A is a centrosome-localized serine/threonine kinase that is overexpressed in multiple human cancers. We previously reported an intramolecular inhibitory regulation of Aurora-A between its N-terminal regulatory domain (Nt, amino acids [aa] 1-128) and the C-terminal catalytic domain (Cd, aa 129-403). Here, we demonstrate that although both Aurora-A mutants (AurA-K250G and AurA-D294G/Y295G) lacked interactions between the Nt and Cd, they also failed to interact with Ajuba, an essential activator of Aurora-A, leading to loss of kinase activity. Additionally, overexpression of either of the mutants resulted in centrosome amplification and mitotic spindle formation defects. Both mutants were also able to cause G2/M arrest and apoptosis. These results indicate that both K250 and D294/Y295 are critical for direct interaction between Aurora-A and Ajuba and the function of the Aurora-A complex in cell cycle progression.       • Oridonin Suppresses Proliferation of Human Ovarian Cancer Cells via Blockage of mTOR Signaling

        Oridonin, an ent-kaurane diterpenoid compound isolated from the traditional Chinese herb Rabdosia rubescens, has shown various pharmacological and physiological effects such as anti-tumor, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. However, the effect of oridonin on human ovarian cancer cell lines has not been determined. In this study, we demonstrated that oridonin inhibited ovarian cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, we showed oridonin inhibited tumor growth of ovarian cancer cells (SKOV3) in vivo. We then assessed mechanisms and found that oridonin specifically abrogated the phosphorylation/activation of mTOR signaling. In summary, our results indicate that oridonin is a potential inhibitor of ovarian cancer by blocking the mTOR signaling pathway.

        투고논문 : <황부인전> 구조 연구 -과제 제시와 해결 구조를 중심으로-

        이 논문은 작자와 연대를 알 수 없는 고전소설, <황부인전>을 대상으로 그 구조를 분석한 것이다. <황부인전>은 단편소설로 <삼국지연의>의 내용 중에서 일부분을 기초로 하여 재창작된 작품이라고 할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 <황부인전>의 이본 중에서 <황부인전>의 내용을 가장 잘 표현한 것으로 보이며 선행 연구에서도 가장 널리 대상으로 삼고 있는 세창서관본 <황부인전>을 주된 자료로 하여 <황부인전>을 분석하였다. <황부인전>의 구조는 천상의 과제 제시와 지상의 과제 해결 구조로 분석할 수 있다. <황부인전>의 이야기 전개를 이끌어나가는 원리는 천상계에서 제시한 과제를 중간계나 지상계의 존재가 해결하는 방식이다. 천상계의 과제는 황부인과 제갈공명 두 사람에게 주어진다. 이러한 공간적 층위 속에서 황부인과 제갈공명 두 사람에게 몽조의 형태로 천상계의 과제가 주어졌다. 황부인의 과제는 전생의 죄에 대한 벌의 형태로 주어졌으며, 제갈공명의 과제는 전생에 채우지 못한 욕망에 대한 해결 형태로 주어졌다. 두 사람에게 주어진 천상의 과제 중 한 가지는 일치한다. 그것은 하늘이 정해 준 인연을 맺어야 한다는 것이다. 제갈량과 황부인의 공통 과제인 결연은 제갈공명의 소극적인 회피와 도주는 황부인의 적극적인 설득 및 방해로 인해 우여곡절을 겪으면서 해결된다. 그 후제갈량은 남은 과제인 공명 성취를 위해 노력하기 시작하고, 황부인은 그를 돕는 보조역할을 맡는다. 이와 같이 <황부인전>은 천상계의 과제 제시와 인간계에서의 과제 해결이라는 과제 제시-과제 해결의 구조로 되어 있다. 특이한 것은 주인공 황부인의 과제 제시-과제해결은 단일한 것인 반면 제갈공명의 과제 제시-과제해결은 이중으로 되어 있다는 것이다. <황부인전>의 전체 내용은 남성인 제갈공명보다 여상인 황부인의 능력이 더 뛰어난 것으로 묘사되어 있는데 반해, 여성 주인공의 과제는 단일하고 남성 주인공의 과제는 이중적인 이유에 대해서는 후행 연구의 과제로 남긴다. Hwangbuinjeon reflects dual female consciousness and the dualistic view of the world. Toward domestic conflicts, Ms. Hwang was quite aggressive and did her utmost efforts to make successful marriage. With social conflicts, on the contrary, she was not in the front line. Rather, she tried to solve them in a detour. In this respect, the researcher analyzed duality from the introduction of Samgukji Yeoneui into Korea via Bakssijeon (17C) to Hwangbuinjeon (19~20C). Also, immersed in Hwangbuinjeon is a world view that the tasks of the heavenly world rule the lives of both the in-between and earthly worlds. This outlook grants inevitability to the story otherwise hard to understand. The fact that the perfect male character like Jegal Gongmyeong should marry an ugly woman like Ms. Hwang is difficult to accept unless based on a dualistic world view. The author makes use of `heavenly tasks` in order to let the readers understand the dual world view that heavenly principles govern the earthly world.

        Taxonomic Study of the Lichen Genus $Lobaria$ in South Korea

        $Lobaria$ (Schreb.) Hoffm is a common foliose lichen genus found on the Korean Peninsula, yet until now, no revision study has been done on this genus. After careful examination of specimens deposited in the Korean Lichen Research Institute (KoLRI), nine distinct species of $Lobaria$ were confirmed. Morphological characteristics such as the presence or absence of isidia, or whether or not the surface was ridged or smooth, and chemical characteristics such as the result of the medulla reaction were of significant importance in the differentiation of species. Here, we provided detailed descriptions together with a key to all the known Korean species.

      • Challenges for commercializing perovskite solar cells

        <P>Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have witnessed rapidly rising power conversion efficiencies, together with advances in stability and upscaling. Despite these advances, their limited stability and need to prove upscaling remain crucial hurdles on the path to commercialization. We summarize recent advances toward commercially viable PSCs and discuss challenges that remain. We expound the development of standardized protocols to distinguish intrinsic and extrinsic degradation factors in perovskites. We review accelerated aging tests in both cells and modules and discuss the prediction of lifetimes on the basis of degradation kinetics. Mature photovoltaic solutions, which have demonstrated excellent long-term stability in field applications, offer the perovskite community valuable insights into clearing the hurdles to commercialization.</P>

      • Medical Image Registration Based on Inertia Matrix and Iterative Closest Point

        The closest iterative point algorithm (ICP) is widely used in medical image registration. But there exist some problems in the following aspects. First, due to its heavily computational load, it has a time-consuming process and a low registration efficiency. Second, due to the fact that it heavily depends on whether the initial rotation and translation matrices of the floating point set can be exactly extracted, it often traps in the local optimum and even fails to register images. In addition, due to the complexity of medical images, it is difficult to automatically extract the salutary feature points. In this paper, by computing the coordinate inertia matrices of the reference and floating images, the rotation angles are obtained and referred to as the initial rotation parameters of ICP for image registration. The edges of the reference and floating images are detected by the edge convolution kernel so-called B-spline gradient operator (BSGO) and then the binarization images involving the feature points are acquired. The experimental results reveal that, this proposed method has a fairly simple implementation, a low computational load, a fast registration and good alignment accuracy. Also, It can efficiently avoid trapping in the local optimum and cater to both mono-modality and multi-modality image registrations.
