Chaotic grey wolf optimization algorithm for constrained optimization problems

Mehak Kohli,Sankalap Arora 한국CDE학회 2018 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.5 No.4

The Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) algorithm is a novel meta-heuristic, inspired from the social hunting behavior of grey wolves. This paper introduces the chaos theory into the GWO algorithm with the aim of accelerating its global convergence speed. Firstly, detailed studies are carried out on thirteen standard constrained benchmark problems with ten different chaotic maps to find out the most efficient one. Then, the chaotic GWO is compared with the traditional GWO and some other popular meta-heuristics viz. Firefly Algorithm, Flower Pollination Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. The perfor-mance of the CGWO algorithm is also validated using five constrained engineering design problems. The results showed that with an appropriate chaotic map, CGWO can clearly outperform standard GWO, with very good performance in comparison with other algorithms and in application to constrained optimiza-tion problems.

Sequence Analysis of E2 Glycoprotein from Indian Isolate of Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSFV)

        ( Mehak Bajwa ),( Ramneek Verma ),( Dipak Deka ),( Gagandeep Singh Dhol ),( Nagendra Nath Barman ) 한국미생물생명공학회(구 한국산업미생물학회) 2015 한국미생물·생명공학회지 Vol.43 No.1

CSF is a major concern for the swine industry, representing currently the most epizootically dangerous disease to the species. Numerous CSFV isolates with various degrees of virulence have already been isolated worldwide, ranging from low virulent strains that do not result in any apparent clinical signs to highly virulent strains that cause a severe per acute hemorrhagic fever with very high mortality. The molecular epidemiology of CSFVs has proven to be an essential tool for effective disease control and the development of safe and effective vaccines. Therefore, this study cloned and sequenced local CSFV isolates, and conducted a phylogenetic analysis based on the E2 glycoprotein encoding sequences. The RNA was extracted from PK15 cell culture passaged CSFV isolates, the cDNA prepared, and the complete E2 gene amplified with a product size of 1186 bp. The gelpurified PCR product was cloned into a pGEMT easy vector and the positive clone commercially sequenced. Aligning the nucleotide (1119 bp) and amino acid (373) sequences with 29 reference strains revealed nucleotide and amino acid sequence identities of 82.60-97.80% and 88.70-98.70%, respectively, indicating a higher mutation rate of the field CSFV strains. The phylogenetic analysis based on the complete E2 amino acid sequences also revealed a reliable differentiation of all the analyzed strains into specific genetic groups and subgroups, plus the local isolate (CSFV-E2) was found to cluster with the CSFV subgroup 2.2. Thus, the full-length E2 cds proved to be most suitable for a reliable and statistically significant phylogenetic analysis of CSFV isolates.

      • Performance Evaluation of Shortest Path Routing Strategy using Cognitive Radios

Kartikay Garg,Mehak Jain,Shailender Gupta,Atefeh Hedayati 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.1

To have an efficient and successful communication in ad hoc networks, the use of Cognitive Radios (CR) has gained popularity in the recent past. These radios have spectrum sensing capabilities and thus can easily switch to free spectrum band. The use of such type of radios not only improves the routing performance but at the same time improves the overall throughput of the network. To show the same, we implement shortest path routing strategy in MATLAB-7.01. The routing scheme uses two types of radios one with spectrum sensing capability such as cognitive radios and the other which doesn’t. The following performance metrics such as Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), Delay, Success Ratio and Hop count are taken into consideration for measuring the efficiency. The result shows that a node having spectrum sensing capability outperforms the other one.

WEIGHTED COMPOSITION OPERATORS FROM THE KIM CLASS AND THE SMIRNOV CLASS TO WEIGHTED BLOCH TYPE SPACES

        Sharma, Ajay K.,Sharma, Mehak,Subhadarsini, Elina Korean Mathematical Society 2018 대한수학회논문집 Vol.33 No.4

In this paper, we prove that boundedness with respect to metric balls of weighted composition operators from the Kim class and the Smirnov class to weighted Bloch type spaces is equivalent to metrical compactness of weighted composition operators between these spaces.
