An industrial-scale stereo-selective enzymatic oxidation process for the conversion of pyrmetazole toesomeprazole was developed and optimized. Slurry-to-slurry stages are highly demanding syntheticoperations due to several deteriorating factors: competing equilibria, mass transfer limitations and longtermbio-catalytic activity. Challenging characteristics of this bio-oxidation included foaming, thickening,continuous dynamic changes in viscosity, mass transport, and bio-catalyst inactivation. By screening pH,optimization of reactant loading ratios, and modification of control, crucial production attributes ofmaterials, such as substrate particle size, were controlled and better batch-to-batch stability and scale-upwas achieved.
Optical and electrical modelling and characterization of dye-sensitized solar cells

A route of optical and electrical modeling of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) has been developed and validated within a set of test structures. The optical model is based on one-dimensional semi-coherent optical simulator SunShine, in which nanoporous active layer was successfully modelled as effective medium layer with effective scattering of light at its front and back surface interface using effective roughness. The electrical model is based on a pseudo-homogeneous active layer using drift–diffusion transport equations for free electron and ion transport. In both models, input parameters have been extracted from measured performance of test devices and main optical and electrical losses have been quantitatively identified for ionic liquid based DSSC structures, having 7 or 14 lm thick active layer.
Gamified Audiovisual Works - Composition, Perception, Performance

오디오비주얼 작품에서 게임, 특히 컴퓨터 게임에서 가져온 요소를 포함시키는 것은 여러 예술적이거나 도전적 기회를 제공한다. 2016년 2월 이래 마르코 시실리아니는 아이이엠IEM(그라츠 음악대학 전자음악 연구소)에서 예술연구가 바바리 뤼네부르그와 음악학자 안드레아스 피르흐너와 협동하여 오디오비주얼 작품에 게임의 요소를 활용할 다양한 가능성을 실험하는 예술 연구 프로젝트를 시행하였다. 이 프로젝트는 ‘게임화된 오디오비주얼 연주와 연주 실제’를 의미하는 GAPPP라는 제목이 붙여졌다. 프로젝트의 한 부분으로 2017년 10월까지 여섯 명의 아티스트에 의한 아홉 개의 새 작품이 제작 및 조사되었다. 이 시기는 프로젝트의 대략 중간 분기로서, 이 글은 프로젝트가 개시된 이후 얻은 결과를 다양한 경험과 견해로 요약한다. http://gappp.net를 보라. The inclusion of elements from games and especially from computer games in audiovisual works offers many artistic opportunities but also challenges. Since February 2016 Marko Ciciliani has run an artistic research project at the IEM, the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz where, in collaboration with performer and artistic researcher Barbara Lüneburg and musicologist Andreas Pirchner, he has investigated various possibilities for utilizing elements from games in the context of audiovisual works. The project is titled GAPPP, which stands for ‘Gamified Audiovisual Performance and Performance Practice’. By October 2017, nine new works by six artists have been composed and investigated as part of this project. 28 GHz Wireless Backhaul Transceiver Characterization and Radio Link Budget

Millimeter wave communication is one of the main disruptive technologies in upcoming 5G mobile networks. One of the first candidate applications, which will be commercially ready by 2020, is wireless backhaul links or wireless last mile communication. This paper provides an analysis of this use-case from radio engineering and implementation perspectives. Furthermore, preliminary experimental results are shown for a proof-of-concept wireless backhaul solution developed within the EU-KR 5GCHAMPION project, which will be showcased during the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Korea. In this paper, we verify system level calculations and a theoretical link budget analysis with conductive and radiated over-the-air measurements. The results indicate that the implemented radio solution is able to achieve the target key performance indicator, namely, a 2.5 Gbps data rate on average, over a range of up to 200 m.

Vitamin D deficiency is associated with a range of chronic diseases, including childhood obesity. Prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in obese children and adolescents ranges from 6.5% to 57%. This cross-sectional study included 92 obese patients with body mass index z-score >2 and 39 subjects in the control group. Anthropometric and laboratory patient assessment were performed, including the fasting 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D). Adherence to the Mediterranean diet was assessed by Mediterranean Diet Quality Index for children and adolescents (KIDMED index), while physical activity was evaluated by Physical Activity Questionnaire (PAQ). Serum levels of 25(OH)D were significantly lower in obese subjects compared to the control group (52.0 ± 17.93 vs. 64.09 ± 25.82 nmol/L, P = .003). The subgroup of obese patients with metabolic syndrome (MS) had significantly lower levels of serum vitamin D when compared to the subgroup of obese patients without MS and the control group (46.99 ± 17.11 vs. 54.58 ± 17.93 vs. 64.09 ± 25.82 nmol/L, P = .003). Obese patients with MS had lower PAQ score when compared to obese without MS and the control group (2.32 ± 0.55 vs. 2.49 ± 0.67 vs. 2.85 ± 0.63 nmol/L, P = .002), while no significant differences were observed in the KIDMED index (4.23 ± 1.81 vs. 4.21 ± 2.13 vs. 4.87 ± 2.29, P = .251), respectively. PAQ score was in positive correlation with serum levels of 25(OH)D (r = 0.305, P < .001). This study demonstrated that obese children and adolescents have significantly lower values of serum 25(OH)D. The positive correlation between vitamin D and PAQ score points to the importance of physical activity in the prevention of further cardiovascular complications and MS.

We classify linear maps which preserve idempotents on n×n matrices over some classes of semirings. Our results include many known semirings like the semiring of all nonnegative integers, the semiring of all nonnegative reals, any unital commutative ring, which is zero divisor free and of characteristic not two (not necessarily a principal ideal domain),and the ring of integers modulo m, where m is a product of distinct odd primes.
