Controlled fabrication and electrochemical corrosion behavior of ultrathin Ni-Cu alloy foil

        Linping Yu,Long Chen,Qizhi Chen,Luli Feng,Ziyi Xu,Bo Nan,Xiyue Kang,Yuehui He 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.103 No.-

Cost-effective ultrathin alloy foils (<20 lm) are highly expected with the development of electronicindustry and micro-system technology. In this paper, electrodeposition combined with vacuum sinteringis used to fabricate a Ni-Cu alloy foil with thickness of 12.0 (±0.2) lm. For the ultrathin Ni-Cu alloy foil, adensified structure without pores can be achieved by prolonging sintering duration at 900 ℃ for 3 h. Under the current density of 10 mA cm 2, 700 s is the optimal electrodeposition time to obtain the highesttensile strength (187 MPa) with the Ni content of 41.5 wt.% in the alloy foil. Compared with Cu foil, Ni-Cu alloy foil shows superior corrosion resistance in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution and also HCl solutions (0.5 mol/L, 1.0 mol/L, 2.0 mol/L), respectively. The uniform composition and defect-free surface, excellent tensilestrength and corrosion resistance together exhibits the great application potential of the obtained Ni-Cualloy foil, which may provide an inspiration for future development of integrated electronic or medicaldevices.

Synthesis of multicolor fluorescent CDs from natural plant kaempferide and their application in anti-counterfeiting inks

        Ma Linping,Long Xiang,Ma Yanshun,Wu Shaogui 한국탄소학회 2024 Carbon Letters Vol.34 No.3

Carbon dots (CDs) are versatile nanomaterials with tunable luminescent properties. We used a natural plant kaempferol as a carbon source to synthesize multicolor CDs by reacting it with various nitrogen sources. Blue, green, and red CDs (B-CDs, G-CDs, and R-CDs) with emission wavelengths of 445 nm, 510 nm, and 600 nm respectively were successfully synthesized. Their photoluminescence quantum yields of are up to 37.4%, 20.1%, and 30.8%, respectively. Surface analysis revealed abundant nitrogen groups influencing luminescence. B-CDs and G-CDs show excitation-dependent emissions, indicating a potential correlation between their luminescence and particle sizes, while R-CDs exhibit excitation-independent emission, suggesting they belong to molecular state CDs. All three CDs exhibit stable luminescent performance, as well as good salt resistance and photobleaching resistance. The practical application of multicolored CDs in anti-counterfeiting fluorescent inks was further explored. This work offers a straightforward, eco-friendly route to synthesize multicolor CDs.

      • Lexical Recoding via Bilingual Memory in Sight Interpreting : A Combined Eye-tracking and Corpus-assisted Study

        Yue Lang,Linping Hou,Yuanjian He 이화여자대학교 통역번역연구소 2018 T&I review Vol.8 No.-

This paper reports the results of a triangulated study that combined eye-tracking and corpus-assisted methods on lexical recoding via bilingual memory in sight interpreting of cultural specificity (CF) from English (L2) into Chinese (L1) by student interpreters. The results show that the patterns of eye-tracking and those of the experimental corpus both indicate that CF causes processing load to increase lexical recoding, and the fact that the two patterns converge on one another implies that lexical recoding relies also crucially on bilingual memory. Moreover, we argue that a theoretical element should be an integral part of triangulation. To a larger extent the theory may reflect the underlying bilingual-processing process for translating and interpreting, the more feasible it is in offering a unified account for experimental as well as corpus-extracted data patterns. Further research is needed.

In Situ Synthesis and Strengthening of Powder Metallurgy High Speed Steel in Addition of LaB6

        Weijun Shen,Linping Yu,Zhi Li,Yuehui He,Qiankun Zhang,Huibin Zhang,Yao Jiang,Nan Lin 대한금속·재료학회 2017 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.23 No.6

A novel technology which was characterized by the vacuum solid state sintering was developed for powder metallurgyhigh speed steels production. During sintering, both the WC and Mo2C reacted with Fe and transformed toW and Mo rich M6C carbides which were the common hard phases in high speed steels. Also, a high number of W,Mo and Fe were dissolved in VC, forming the MC carbides. The densification of the material mainly relied on thesolubility effect during the M6C and MC carbides formation. By alloying with a 0.1 wt% of LaB6 to the steel, thebending strength and the fracture toughness were improved from 3290 MPa and 25.6 MPam1/2to 4018 MPa and29.4 MPam1/2, respectively. The TEM analysis demonstrated three types of reaction products by the LaB6 addition:the amorphous phase, the core-shell structure and the La2O3 phase. The impurity elements such as the Mg, Al,Si, S, Ca, and O were absorbed following the LaB6 addition. Moreover, the deoxidization effect caused by the LaB6addition promoted the sintering at a high-temperature period which contributed to the bending strength and fracturetoughness improvement.

      • Stabilization of Battery Electrode/Electrolyte Interfaces Employing Nanocrystals with Passivating Epitaxial Shells

        Kim, Chunjoong,Phillips, Patrick J.,Xu, Linping,Dong, Angang,Buonsanti, Raffaella,Klie, Robert F.,Cabana, Jordi American Chemical Society 2015 Chemistry of materials Vol.27 No.1

<P>Chemical degradation at electrode/electrolyte interfaces in high-energy storage devices, such as Li-ion batteries, imposes durability challenges that affect their life and cost. In oxide electrodes, degradation is linked to the presence of redox active transition metals at the surface. Here, we demonstrate a strategy toward the stabilization of interfaces using core–epitaxial shell nanocrystals. The core of the nanocrystal is composed of an electroactive oxide, which is passivated by an ultrathin epitaxial oxide shell enriched in a redox inactive ion. This approach imparts interfacial stability while preserving the high storage capability and fast carrier transport of the material, compared to unmodified versions. The validity of the concept is proved with Li1+<I>x</I>Mn2–<I>x</I>O4 nanocrystals with a 1–2 nm Al-rich shell, which showed reduced sensitivity to harsh environments, compared to bare counterparts. The approach is generalizable to any transition-metal-based battery system where electrode–electrolyte interactions must be controlled.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/cmatex/2015/cmatex.2015.27.issue-1/cm503615w/production/images/medium/cm-2014-03615w_0006.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/cm503615w'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

The influence of synergistic effects of hexakis (4-nitrophenoxy) cyclotriphosphazene and POE-g-MA on anti-dripping and flame retardancy of PET

Xuan Zhang,ZhiPing Mao,Qian Wu,LinPing Zhang 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.3

In this report, hexakis (4-nitrophenoxy) cyclotriphosphazene (HNCP) and ethylene–octene copolymer grafted-maleic anhydride (POE-g-MA) were blended with pure PET together. The fire retardant ability and thermal stability of PET/HNCP/POE-g-MA were investigated respectively. The results indicated that HNCP and POE-g-MA had a synergic effect on the dripping resistance of PET besides the enhancement in flame retardancy to a certain degree. LOI values of the polymers with both POE-g-MA and 10 wt%HNCP were higher than that of pure PET and no drips just containing 1 wt%POE-g-MA. The reason was that HNCP could be well dispersed in PET when POE-g-MA was added, forming a more effective char layer and preventing dripping of polymers. Indeed, the morphology of charred residue of PET/HNCP/POE-g-MA showed that a porous protective layer with a dense surface was formed. The thermogravimetric analysis revealed that addition of HNCP improved the thermal stability and the yield of char residue of the PET/POE-g-MA systems. Based on a series of experiment results, the synergistic effect of HNCP and POE-g-MA on the anti-dripping of PET was also discussed. In the PET/HNCP/POE-g-MA system, POE-g-MA played a role of compatibilizer. The improved compatibility and dispersion provided the composite with the ideal flame retardancy, thermal stability and anti-dripping property.
