This paper investigates the distributed consensus problem for heterogeneous multi-agent systems via event-triggered scheme. To alleviate the communication burden, a distributed event-triggered consensus algorithm using an open-loo estimate and neighboring information is proposed. In the proposed event-triggered scheme, the control input of each agent is dependent on the estimate and information at discrete instants. Firstly, the novel event-triggered consensus algorithm is proposed for fixed topology, which involves the discrete communication between neighboring agents. Then, for the switching topology, the triggering condition is proposed by virtue of a topology-dependent dwell time approach. Further, the corresponding consensus procedures are given. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is illustrated by numerical results.
Protection Relay and Fault Information Analyzing System for Smart Grid
Ge, Liang,Wang, Liding,Yang, Changfu,Zhou, Shuxiong 대한전기학회 2013 The Journal of International Council on Electrical Vol.3 No.2
For smart grid, the fault information from protection relays and fault recorders is useful for dispatchers to identify the grid fault and resume the power supply fleetly when a fault occurs. Traditionally, EMS/SCADA doesn't have the ability to collect the fault information. An application of protection relay and fault information analyzing system is proposed. In order to implement smarter analyzing functions, three approaches are adopted. First, the system unifies IEC61850 and IEC103 for modeling. Second, an analyzing method of relay characteristic is proposed to evaluate the action behavior of protection relays. Finally, the paper presents an approach to replay the actual action sequence with relay's logic diagram. The system has been carried out and the paper concludes that the system is effective and useful for dispatchers and relay operators in smart grid.
Reliability optimization design of hydraulic system considering oil contamination
Xinda Zhou,Zhaojun Yang,Hailong Tian,Chuanhai Chen,Liding Wang,Yongfu Zhu,Jia Liu 대한기계학회 2020 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.34 No.12
This paper presents a reliability optimization design method for a hydraulic system that considers oil contamination. The proposed method applies the quantitative relationship between oil contamination and system reliability to the reliability design of a hydraulic system, while considering the performance, layout, and other design factors. A global reliability model of the hydraulic system is constructed based on the oil contamination control model. Further studies aiming at an optimization design model of the hydraulic system is established where the cost is the objective function, reliability index, size and structure range, performance requirements are constraints, structure size and oil change period are design variables. For illustration, a case study on the reliability optimization design of the oil supply point branch of the static pressure bracket of a certain type of heavy CNC horizontal lathe is considered.
Research on Deep-Sea Pipeline Tube Bundle Heating System
Li Ding,Xinghua Ding,Weina Ren,Yingying Mu,Aiguo Lin 대한전기학회 2020 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.15 No.6
In order to ensure the safety of deep-sea submarine pipelines, this paper focuses on the analysis of the axial temperature distribution model of the submarine pipeline and the distribution parameter circuit model of the tube bundle heating system. Combined with these two models, theoretical analysis shows that the heating eff ect of the tube bundle heating system depends on the distributed circuit parameters and power frequency of the system. In order to improve the heat tracing effi ciency, the power frequency needs to be adjusted according to the change of the load temperature, so the power supply frequency of the tube bundle heating system based on the Hammerstein model is optimized. Using a neuro-fuzzy algorithm, not only the theoretical values of heating power and power frequency are obtained, but also the drawbacks of determining the above parameters based on engineering experiments are avoided. Moreover, the pipeline heating is effi cient and stable, the dynamic response is fast, and the working condition is also well adapted.
Adaptive Robust Control via a Nonlinear Disturbance Observer for Cable-driven Aerial Manipulators
Li Ding,Kailei Liu,Guibing Zhu,Yaoyao Wang,Yangmin Li 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.2
This article proposes a novel robust control scheme for the trajectory tracking control of a cabledriven aerial manipulator in joint space, combining an adaptive fractional-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode (FONTSM) manifold and a nonlinear disturbance observer (NDOB). The proposed control scheme mainly consists of three aspects, i.e., an NDOB used to estimate the unmodeled dynamics and external disturbances, a FONTSM applied to guarantee the control accuracy of the tracking performance, and an adaptive reaching law applied to improve the robustness. The proposed scheme is based on the model-free idea that can reduce the difficulty of controller design without knowing the precise dynamics of the plant. The experimental results show that the proposed controller can ensure better transient performance and stronger robustness against lumped disturbances than two other existing controllers.

Restaurant firms often make choices between innovation and imitation. To increase the value of their businesses, they develop a new strategy or follow what rivals do. Many restaurants are small businesses that are more flexible and quick in response to changing condition than large businesses, but more vulnerable to changes in the external environment and often not capable to experiment with a new strategy. Therefore, restaurants often choose an imitation strategy over an innovation strategy. In this context, this study aims to explore imitators’ responses to innovator’s actions. It examines the predictable effects of both a company’s strategic orientations and the imitated strategy types on a company’s tendency to imitate, as well as investigates imitation time lag in the U.S. restaurant industry. Using a scenario-based survey approach, ANOVA, and regression analysis, results show that the types of an emerging strategy determine the competitor’s entry into the market and its response speed. Results suggest that competitive responses vary according to the competitor’s strategic orientations, as well as explain the usefulness of particular strategies during their lifetimes, since imitation and competition impede innovation.

This study aimed to compare the commonalities and differences of corporate social performance among a sample of U.S. hospitality and manufacturing companies, as well as to examine the impacts of corporate social performance on corporate financial performance in both industries. Using panel data from 1991 to 2013, the study primarily investigated significant differences in the environment, corporate governance, and diversity-related performance among companies in the sample. Among the results, the performance of employee relations and corporate governance was positively associated with short- and long-term financial performance among the hospitality companies. However, the community performance tended to influence the short-term financial performance and employee relations tended to influence the long-term financial performance of the manufacturing companies. The results clarify the complex correlations of corporate social performance and financial performance for hospitality researchers, as well as encourage hospitality practitioners to invest efficiently in improving the corporate social performance and thus corporate financial performance of their firms.

This study aims at optimizing the composition of the bifunctional catalyst with CuFe2O4 spinel metallicfunction for the steam reforming of DME (SRD). The g-Al2O3 obtained by calcination of boehmite at550 8C proves to be the most suitable acid function, given that it provides high activity for DMEhydrolysis and avoids hydrocarbon formation in the 300–400 8C range. Furthermore, the optimum massratio between CuFe2O4 and g-Al2O3 functions is 1/1 at 350 8C, since it allows obtaining the highest DMEconversion and H2 yield with suitable catalyst stability and mechanical resistance.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to measure emissions of gases (ammonia ($NH_3$), hydrogen sulfide ($H_2S$) and carbon dioxide ($CO_2$)), volatile organic compounds (VOC) and odor from two shallow pit pig nursery rooms. Gas and odor reduction practices for swine operations based on the literature were also discussed. Methods: This study was conducted for 60 days at a commercial swine nursery facility which consisted of four identical rooms with mechanical ventilations. Two rooms (room 1 (R1) and room 2 (R2)) with different pig numbers and ventilation rates were used in this study. The pig manure from both the R1 and R2 were characterized. Indoor/outdoor temperatures, ventilation rates/duration, $NH_3$, $H_2S$, $CO_2$, and VOC concentrations of the ventilation air were measured periodically (3-5 times/week). Odor concentrations of the ventilations were measured two times on two days. Three different types of gas and odor reduction practices (diet control, chemical method, and biological method) were discussed in this study. Results: The volatile solids to total solids ratio (VS/TS) and crude protein (CP) value of pig manure indicated the pig manure had high potential for gas and odor emissions. The $NH_3$, $H_2S$, $CO_2$ and VOC concentrations were measured in the ranges of 1.0-13.3, 0.1-5.7, 1600-3000 and 0.0-1.83 ppm, respectively. The $NH_3$ concentrations were found significantly higher than $H_2S$ concentrations for both rooms. The odor concentrations were measured in the range of $2853-4432OU_E/m^3$. There was significant difference in odor concentrations between the two rooms which was due to difference in pig numbers and ventilation duration. The literature studies showed that simultaneous use of dietary control and biofiltration practices will be more effective and environmentally friendly for gas and odor reductions from pig barns. Conclusions: The gas and odor concentrations measured in the ventilation air from the pig rooms indicate an acute need for using gas and odor mitigation technologies. Adopting diet control and biofiltration practices simultaneously could be the best option for mitigating gas and odor emissions from pig barns.
