A Mild Strategy to Strengthen Three Dimensional Graphene Aerogel for Supporting Sulfur as a Free‐standing Cathode in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

Recently, three dimensional graphene aerogel (3DGA) supported sulfur microparticles was used as a cathode material for lithium?sulfur batteries, which was considered as one of the most promising next generation rechargeable batteries due to its ultra?high theoretical specific capacity (1675 mAh/g). However, the mechanical strength of 3DGA remains an issue for further application. Herein, a strengthened 3DGA (S3DGA) was achieved by soaking in a low concentration ammonia solution at a relative low temperature. Then the S3DGA loaded sulfur (S3DGA?S) was cut into a round piece and directly used as a cathode without additional binders or conductive additives in Li?S batteries. The mechanical strength, microstructure, and electrochemical properties were investigated by compare with a 3DGA prepared without strengthen. The S3DGA?S presented good mechanical strength, excellent capacity retention, and lower electrochemical impedance.

Improved lithium storage performance of CeO2-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 material as an anode for Li-ion battery

In this work, the CeO2-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 anode was successfully prepared through a solid-state process. The space-charge effect induced by the internal adsorption of ions on the CeO2 surface can easilyresult in a formation of an excellent conductive interfacial layer between CeO2 and SrLi2Ti6O14. The goodelectrical contact between CeO2 and SrLi2Ti6O14 offers more active sites for the electrolyte storage andredox reaction, and promotes the intercalation/deintercalation of lithium ions, and thus improves therate performance and cycle stability. Due to its unique structure and composition, the CeO2-decoratedSrLi2Ti6O14 composites exhibit high reversible capacities, good cycle performance and outstanding rateperformance. Especially, the CeO2 (5 wt%)-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 anode shows the most excellent electrochemicalperformance, which delivers a large charge capacity of 121.3 mAh g 1 and a capacity retentionof 94.48% after 100 cycles at 0.5 A g 1. However, the corresponding charge capacity and capacity retentionof pristine SrLi2Ti6O14 are 100.5 mAh g 1 and 86.77%, respectively. The CeO2(5 wt%)-decoratedSrLi2Ti6O14 with enhanced rate capacity, cycle stability and structural stability is a potential electrodematerial candidate for Li-ion battery.

The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of purchasing sport supplies on brand image and royalty. 330 subjects who have been stayed in seoul were selected, convenience sampling was applied to extract sampling. among the extracted questionares, 282(96.4)copies were selected to analyze for final study except 18 of untruthful copies(3.6%). all datas were analyzed by frequency, percent, t-Test, ANOVA, multiple regression analysis and LSD. Results were follow as First, difference of brand image on variation of populational trait. 1. According to preference of brand image followed sex, there were significantly different between the brand name and design. 2. According to preference of brand image followed age, there were significantly different among all factors. 3. According to preference of brand image followed an income level, there were significantly different among all factors. Second, difference of brand royalty on variation of populational trait. 1. According to brand royalty followed sex, there were significantly different between purchasing price and distance to shop. 2. According to brand royalty followed age, there were significantly different among all factors. 3. According to brand royalty followed an income level, there were significantly different among all factors. Third, the effect of sport supplies royalty on brand image 1. As to purchasing price on factors of brand image, there were significantly different among brand name, price and design. 2. As to preferent consideration on factors of brand image, there were significantly between quality and function. 3. As to re-purchase on factors of brand image, there were significantly different among brand name, price and design. 4. As to distance to shop on factors of brand image, there were significantly different among brand name, price and design. 5. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between sport event recognition and the community development. the 550 subject who reside in seoul, incheon, kwangju, taegu were collected by stratified sampling and Analysis were made use of frequency, t-test. one way ANOVA, multi regression. Zika virus infection of adult and fetal <i>STAT2</i> knock-out hamsters

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Zika virus (ZIKV) infection was investigated in adult and fetal <I>STAT2</I> knock-out (KO) hamsters. Subcutaneous injection of ZIKV of adults resulted in morbidity, mortality, and infection of the uterus, placenta, brain, spinal cord, and testicles, thus providing an opportunity to evaluate congenital ZIKV infection in a second rodent species besides mice. ZIKV-infected cells with morphologies of Sertoli cells and spermatogonia were observed in the testes, which may have implications for sexual transmission and male sterility. Neonates exposed as fetuses to ZIKV at 8 days post-coitus were not smaller than controls. Nevertheless, infectious virus and ZIKV RNA was detected in some, but not all, placentas and fetal brains of KO hamsters. <I>STAT2</I> KO hamsters may be useful for addressing sexual transmission, pathogenesis, routes of fetal infection, and neurological disease outcomes, and may also be used in antiviral or vaccine studies to identify intervention strategies.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Infection of <I>STAT2</I> knock-out hamsters resulted in morbidity and mortality. </LI> <LI> The uterus, placenta, brain, spinal cord, and testicles were infected. </LI> <LI> ZIKV infected cells with morphologies of Sertoli cells and spermatogonia. </LI> <LI> ZIKV was detected in some, but not all, placentas and fetal brains of KO hamsters. </LI> <LI> Fetuses exposed to ZIKV were not smaller than controls. </LI> </UL> </P>

Overexpressing <i>IbCBF3</i> increases low temperature and drought stress tolerance in transgenic sweetpotato

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Dehydration-responsive element-binding/C-repeat-binding factor (DREB/CBF) proteins regulate the transcription of genes involved in cold acclimation in several species. However, little is known about the physiological functions of CBF proteins in the low temperature-sensitive crop sweetpotato. We previously reported that the <I>DREB1/CBF-like</I> sweetpotato gene <I>SwDREB1/IbCBF3</I> is involved in responses to diverse abiotic stresses. In this study, we confirmed that IbCBF3 is localized to the nucleus and binds to the C-repeat/dehydration-responsive elements (CRT/DRE) in the promoters of cold-regulated (<I>COR</I>) genes. We generated transgenic sweetpotato plants overexpressing <I>IbCBF3</I> under the control of the CaMV 35S promoter (referred to as SC plants) and evaluated their responses to various abiotic stresses. <I>IbCBF3</I> expression was dramatically induced by cold and drought but much less strongly induced by high salinity and ABA. We further characterized two SC lines (SC3 and SC6) with high levels of <I>IbCBF3</I> transcript. The SC plants displayed enhanced tolerance to cold, drought, and oxidative stress on the whole-plant level. Under cold stress treatment (4 °C for 48 h), severe wilting and chilling injury were observed in the leaves of wild-type (WT) plants, whereas SC plants were not affected by cold stress. In addition, the <I>COR</I> genes were significantly upregulated in SC plants compared with the WT. The SC plants also showed significantly higher tolerance to drought stress than the WT, which was associated with higher photosynthesis efficiency and lower hydrogen peroxide levels. These results indicate that IbCBF3 is a functional transcription factor involved in the responses to various abiotic stresses in sweetpotato.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> IbCBF3 binds to CRT/DRE in the promoters of <I>COR</I> genes. </LI> <LI> Overexpression of <I>IbCBF3</I> increases cold and drought stress tolerance in sweetpotato. </LI> <LI> <I>IbCOR</I> expression is higher in <I>IbCBF3</I>-overexpressing sweetpotato than in the WT. </LI> </UL> </P>

T-SPOT.TB for Detection of Tuberculosis Infection among Hematological Malignancy Patients and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients

The diagnosis of latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is recommended in hematological malignancy patients and before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Guidelines for the prevention and management of infectious complications of solid organ transplantation, 2004). Compared to traditional methods such as tuberculin skin test (TST), T-SPOT.TB has been shown to be more specific. In the present study we enrolled 536 patients for whom T-SPOT.TB was performed, among which 295 patients also received the TST test. The agreement (79%) between T-SPOT.TB and TST was poor (x=0.274, P<0.001). The patients with positive T-SPOT.TB results numbered 62 (11.6%), in which only 20 (48.8%) of the 41 receiving the TST test had positive results. A majority of the patients with T-SPOT.TB positive results had some other evidence ofTB, such as TB history, clinical symptoms and an abnormal chest CT scan. Active TB was found in 9 patients, in which 2 had negative TST results. We followed up the patients and no one developed active TB. Our study suggested that the T-SPOT.TB may be more useful for screening LTBI and active TB in hematological malignancy patients and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients than the TST test.

Synthesis and Chromatographic Characteristics of Multidentate Ligand-Boned Silica Stationary Phases

To improve the separation property and stability of metal chelate Cu(II) column, three new kinds of multidentate aminocarboxy silica columns with cation-exchange properties were synthesized using glutamic acid (Glu), glutamic acidbromoacetic acid (Glu-BAA), glutamic acid-bromosuccinic acid (Glu-BSUA) as ligands and silica gel as matrix. The standard proteins were separated with prepared chromatographic columns. The stationary phases exhibited the metal chelate property after fixing copper ion (II) on the synthesized multidentate ligand silica columns. The binding capacity of immobilized metal ion was related with the dentate number of multidentate ligands. Chromatographic behavior of proteins and the leakage of immobilized metal ion on multidentate chelate Cu(II) columns were affected by the dentate number of multidentate ligands and competitive elution system directly. The results showed that quinquedentate Glu-BSUA-Cu(II) column exhibited better chromatographic property and stability as compared with tridentate Glu-Cu(II) column, tetradentate Glu-BAA-Cu(II) column and commonly used IDA-Cu(II) column.
