        Chen, Long,Li, Yanhui,Chen, Lina,Li, Na,Dong, Chenglong,Chen, Qiong,Liu, Beibei,Ai, Qing,Si, Pengchao,Feng, Jinkui,Zhang, Lin,Suhr, Jonghwan,Lou, Jun,Ci, Lijie Elsevier 2018 CHEMICAL ENGINEERING JOURNAL -LAUSANNE- Vol.345 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A flexible and free-standing graphene oxide and nylon 6 (GO@nylon 6) multilayer nanofiltration membrane was prepared by a layer-by-layer assembly process. The combination of electrospinning and electrospraying technique was employed, which can facilely prepare large-area membrane with size of 20 × 30 cm. The mechanical stability of multilayer membrane has enhanced significantly due to the tightly locked structure achieved by nylon 6 nanofibers network. The novel GO@nylon 6–13 multilayer nanofiltration membrane demonstrated a pure water flux up to 11.15 L m−2 h−1 bar−1, while keeping high organic dye rejection rate (>95% for methylene blue, and >99% for methyl orange). The rejections rate of the Na2SO4, NaCl, CuSO4, and Pb(NO3)2 were 56.5%, 27.6%, 36.7%, and 18.9%, respectively. Furthermore, GO@nylon 6–13 multilayer nanofiltration membrane also demonstrated a high flux of some common organic solvents (8.4, 5.3, and 0.8 L m−2 h−1 bar−1 for methanol, ethanol, and NMP, respectively), showing excellent chemical stability for separation process in those solvents.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Large-area GO@nylon 6 multilayer nanofiltration membrane was prepared. </LI> <LI> The multilayer structure enhances the mechanical stability. </LI> <LI> The multilayer membrane demonstrates a high water flux. </LI> <LI> The multilayer membrane shows high rejection rate for organic dyes. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>Photograph and cross-section SEM image of GO@nylon 6 multilayer nanofiltration membrane, the inset shows the water contact angle.</P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

      • Expression of the Na+-HCO3−cotransporter and its role in pHiregulation in guinea pig salivary glands

        Li, Jingchao,Koo, Na-Youn,Cho, Ik-Hyun,Kwon, Tae-Hwan,Choi, Se-Young,Lee, Sung J.,Oh, Seog B.,Kim, Joong-Soo,Park, Kyungpyo American Physiological Society 2006 American journal of physiology, Gastrointestinal a Vol.291 No.6

<P>Patterns of salivary HCO3−secretion vary and depend on species and gland types. However, the identities of the transporters involved in HCO3−transport and the underlying mechanism of intracellular pH (pHi) regulation in salivary glands still remain unclear. In this study, we examined the expression of the Na+-HCO3−cotransporter (NBC) and its role in pHiregulation in guinea pig salivary glands, which can serve as an experimental model to study HCO3−transport in human salivary glands. RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, and pHimeasurements from BCECF-AM-loaded cells were performed. The amiloride-sensitive Na+/H+exchanger (NHE) played a putative role in pHiregulation in salivary acinar cells and also appeared to be involved in regulation in salivary ducts. In addition to NHE, NBC also played a role in pHiregulation in both acini and ducts. In the parotid gland, NBC1 was functionally expressed in the basolateral membrane (BLM) of acinar cells and the luminal membrane (LM) of ducts. In the submandibular gland, NBC1 was expressed only in the BLM of ducts. NBC1 expressed in these two types of salivary glands takes up HCO3−and is involved in pHiregulation. Although NBC3 immunoreactivity was also detected in submandibular gland acinar cells and in the ducts of both glands, it is unlikely that NBC3 plays any role in pHiregulation. We conclude that NBC1 is functionally expressed and plays a role in pHiregulation in guinea pig salivary glands but that its localization and role are different depending on the type of salivary glands.</P>

Identification and characterization of heat shock proteins in a parasitic wasp Chouioia cuneae (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae)

        LiNa Pan,Feng-ZhuWANG,Xin-Yue ZHANG,Yan-Ni ZHAO,Geng-Ping ZHU,Min LI 한국곤충학회 2018 Entomological Research Vol.48 No.3

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are known to be induced in response to various stress factors. Although HSPs have been studied in a number of insects, not much is known about HSPs in the natural enemies of insects, especially parasitoids. In this study, we identified and characterized five full‐length HSP genes (Cchsp40, Cchsp60, Cchsp70, Cchsp83, and Cchsp90) from an endoparasitic chalcid wasp, Chouioia cunea, which parasitizes the fall webworm, Hyphantria cunea pupae, a worldwide pest. The expression of Cchsps in response to temperature, pesticide stresses and UV radiation were also investigated by quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction (RT‐qPCR). The results showed that all five Cchsps were induced in response to hot and cold temperatures. Four pesticides induced the abundant expression of Cchsp70, Cchsp83 and Cchsp90 while ultraviolet radiation up‐regulated Cchsp40, Cchsp70, Cchsp83 and Cchsp90. These results indicate the different transcriptional profiles of the five different Cchsps in response to various abiotic stresses. The findings of this study provide insights into the response of C. cunea to abiotic stresses and insight into the use of this parasitoid in biological control strategies.

Improved lithium storage performance of CeO2-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 material as an anode for Li-ion battery

Ying Li,Hong-Yan Liu,Ling-Na Shi,Yan-Rong Zhu,Ting-Feng Yi 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.101 No.-

In this work, the CeO2-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 anode was successfully prepared through a solid-state process. The space-charge effect induced by the internal adsorption of ions on the CeO2 surface can easilyresult in a formation of an excellent conductive interfacial layer between CeO2 and SrLi2Ti6O14. The goodelectrical contact between CeO2 and SrLi2Ti6O14 offers more active sites for the electrolyte storage andredox reaction, and promotes the intercalation/deintercalation of lithium ions, and thus improves therate performance and cycle stability. Due to its unique structure and composition, the CeO2-decoratedSrLi2Ti6O14 composites exhibit high reversible capacities, good cycle performance and outstanding rateperformance. Especially, the CeO2 (5 wt%)-decorated SrLi2Ti6O14 anode shows the most excellent electrochemicalperformance, which delivers a large charge capacity of 121.3 mAh g 1 and a capacity retentionof 94.48% after 100 cycles at 0.5 A g 1. However, the corresponding charge capacity and capacity retentionof pristine SrLi2Ti6O14 are 100.5 mAh g 1 and 86.77%, respectively. The CeO2(5 wt%)-decoratedSrLi2Ti6O14 with enhanced rate capacity, cycle stability and structural stability is a potential electrodematerial candidate for Li-ion battery.

Purification and Characterization of an Extracellular Protease from Bacillus pumilus CN8

        Mei-Hu Ma,Yong-Guo Jin,Hao-Li Li,Jun Wang,Ha-Na Kim,오덕환 한국식품위생안전성학회 2011 한국식품위생안전성학회지 Vol.26 No.1

The protease produced by a Bacillus pumilus CN8 strain was purified by DEAE-Cellulose-52 ion exchange. It has a molecular weight of approximately 96,920 Dalton. In the present study, this protease showed strong activity over a broad range of pH (6.5-9.5) and temperature from 40℃ to 60℃, and the protease performed the maximal activity at pH 7.3 at 42℃. The effect of metal ions on protease activity showed that K+ could slightly increase the protease activity, and other ions such as Zn²+, Fe²+, Na+, Ca²+, Mg²+ had no significant activation or inhibition to the protease (P > 0.05), and the more important is that Cu²+, Mn²+, Sn²+, Cd²+ had a strong inhibitory effect on the protease activity.

      • A Multi-center Survey of HPV Knowledge and Attitudes Toward HPV Vaccination among Women, Government Officials, and Medical Personnel in China

        Zhao, Fang-Hui,Tiggelaar, Sarah M.,Hu, Shang-Ying,Zhao, Na,Hong, Ying,Niyazi, Mayinuer,Gao, Xiao-Hong,Ju, Li-Rong,Zhang, Li-Qin,Feng, Xiang-Xian,Duan, Xian-Zhi,Song, Xiu-Ling,Wang, Jing,Yang, Yun,Li, Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.5

Objectives: To assess knowledge of HPV and attitudes towards HPV vaccination among the general female population, government officials, and healthcare providers in China to assist the development of an effective national HPV vaccination program. Methods: A cross-sectional epidemiologic survey was conducted across 21 urban and rural sites in China using a short questionnaire. 763 government officials, 760 healthcare providers, and 11,681 women aged 15-59 years were included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using standard descriptive statistics and logistic regression. Results: Knowledge of HPV among the general female population was low; only 24% had heard of HPV. Less than 20% of healthcare providers recognized sexually na$\ddot{i}$ve women as the most appropriate population for HPV vaccination. There was high acceptance of the HPV vaccine for all categories of respondents. Only 6% of women were willing to pay more than US $300 for the vaccine. Conclusions: Aggressive education is necessary to increase knowledge of HPV and its vaccine. Further proof of vaccine safety and efficacy and government subsidies combined with increased awareness could facilitate development and implementation of HPV vaccination in China.

      • T-SPOT.TB for Detection of Tuberculosis Infection among Hematological Malignancy Patients and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients

        Qin, Li-Li,Wang, Qin-Rong,Wang, Qian,Yao, Hong,Wen, Li-Jun,Wu, Li-Li,Ping, Na-Na,Xie, Jun-Dan,Chen, Mei-Yu,Chen, Su-Ning Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.12

The diagnosis of latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is recommended in hematological malignancy patients and before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Guidelines for the prevention and management of infectious complications of solid organ transplantation, 2004). Compared to traditional methods such as tuberculin skin test (TST), T-SPOT.TB has been shown to be more specific. In the present study we enrolled 536 patients for whom T-SPOT.TB was performed, among which 295 patients also received the TST test. The agreement (79%) between T-SPOT.TB and TST was poor (x=0.274, P<0.001). The patients with positive T-SPOT.TB results numbered 62 (11.6%), in which only 20 (48.8%) of the 41 receiving the TST test had positive results. A majority of the patients with T-SPOT.TB positive results had some other evidence ofTB, such as TB history, clinical symptoms and an abnormal chest CT scan. Active TB was found in 9 patients, in which 2 had negative TST results. We followed up the patients and no one developed active TB. Our study suggested that the T-SPOT.TB may be more useful for screening LTBI and active TB in hematological malignancy patients and hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients than the TST test.

      • Self-powered reduced-dimensionality perovskite photodiodes with controlled crystalline phase and improved stability

        Lim, Ju Won,Wang, Huan,Choi, Chi Hun,Kwon, Hannah,Quan, Li Na,Park, Won-Tae,Noh, Yong-Young,Kim, Dong Ha Elsevier 2019 Nano energy Vol.57 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this work, we developed the perovskite photodiodes based on the dimensionality-reduced quasi two-dimensional (Q-2D) photoactive layer structure by incorporating phenylethylammonium iodide (PEAI) into methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3), which effectively enhanced both the crystalline phase and the ambient stability of the perovskite. The Q-2D perovskite photodiode exhibited a dark current of 1.76 × 10−7 A/cm2, resulting in the detectivity (D*) of 2.20 × 1012 J and responsivity of 0.53 A/W, which is among the highest performance levels without the voltage bias (0 V) due to the systematically optimized perovskite phase resulting in the reduced leakage current. In addition, the current density of Q-2D perovskite photodiode maintained 76% of the initial level current density even after 80 days in the ambient condition, compared to 15% of 3D perovskite photodiode control sample. Such superior performance and stability were mainly attributed to the enhanced degree of crystallization of the Q-2D perovskites, which was confirmed by X-ray diffraction and grazing incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering (GIWAXS) measurement. Also, the improved stability of Q-2D perovskite films was confirmed by both lifetime test and atomic force microscopy studies where the negligible number of pinholes was observed in the quasi-2D perovskite films while considerable deformations were found in the 3D perovskites photodiode. Our study suggests a simple and robust protocol for the development of stable and high-performance perovskite photodetectors via dimensional and constitutional optimization of conventional perovskites for the practical usage of perovskite in the photodiode applications.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The Q-2D perovskite photodiode exhibited the D* of 2.20 × 1012 J and R of 0.53 A/W without the voltage bias (0 V). </LI> <LI> The current density of Q-2D perovskite photodiode maintained 76 % of the initial level while 15 % for the 3D one. </LI> <LI> Grazing incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering (GIWAXS) analysis revealed the origin of the stability improvement. </LI> <LI> Quasi-2D perovskite materials can be promising candidates for stable, tunable and flexible optoelectronic applications. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>Dimensionality-controlled perovskite photodiodes with improved stability were systematically fabricated while retaining the comparable electrical performance of conventional three-dimensional perovskites. • Polyethylenimine ethoxylated interlayer-mediated ZnO interfacial engineering for high-performance and low-temperature processed flexible perovskite solar cells: A simple and viable route for one-step processed CH3NH3PbI3

        Lim, Ju Won,Wang, Huan,Choi, Chi Hun,Quan, Li Na,Chung, Kyungwha,Park, Won-Tae,Noh, Yong-Young,Kim, Dong Ha Elsevier 2019 Journal of Power Sources Vol.438 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Developing perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with high-efficiency and a low-temperature process has great potential for the realization of the scalable, economic, and roll-to-roll based renewable energy conversion devices. ZnO has been recognized as the promising electron transport layer (ETL) that may overcome the limitations of the conventional TiO2. However, methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) perovskite is prone to decomposition at the ZnO surface, which hinders the development of simple one-step deposition of perovskite, resulting in the limited photovoltaic performance. Herein, we report interlayer mediated efficient ETLs for viable flexible PSCs. The utilization of polyethyleneimine ethoxylated layer on ZnO prevents the direct contact between the perovskite and ETLs, avoiding the photoactive layer decomposition. Thus, interlayer-mediated PSCs show higher efficiency with enhanced stability by decreasing the electron transport barrier. As a result, the PSC employing tailor-designed ETL interfaces exhibited average power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.8%, which was superior by 25.4% to that of a control device (12.6%). With our strategy, we further demonstrated PSCs on flexible substrates which exhibit an average PCE of 11.9% under low-temperature fabrication. The new interface engineering strategy may pave the way to the realization of high performance, easy-to-process, and large-area perovskite optoelectronics.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Universal interface engineering technique for highly stable flexible PSCs. </LI> <LI> The in-depth investigation into the enhanced stability and high-efficiency PSCs. </LI> <LI> Interlayer mediated PSC exhibits 15.8% PCE, superior by 25.4% to control device. </LI> <LI> Low-temperature processed PSCs for the next-generation renewable energy sources. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
