Reduced graphene oxide/alumina composite powders were prepared by mixing of graphene oxides and aluminum ions at the molecular-level. It was found that the composite consolidated from the powders showed that reduced graphene oxide were homogeneously dispersed and strongly bonded with the alumina matrix by oxygen atoms presenting at reduced graphene oxide/alumina interfaces. Both the hardness and the toughness of the composites were enhanced simultaneously by the addition of reduced graphene oxide, which act as bridges to restrain the propagation of cracks in the alumina matrix. It is clarified that graphenes can be utilized as promising reinforcements for enhancement in mechanical properties of ceramic materials when the molecular-level mixing process is applied.

A test circuit of a repetitive critical rate of rise of ON-state current (di/dt) for a high-power thyristor is designed and implemented. The operating principle of the test circuit specified in the standard IEC-60747-6 is explained in detail. The design example for the circuit to test repetitive di/dt of 300 A/mu s for a thyristor having a mean ON-state current of 2200 A is presented. The value of the charging resistor is chosen by simulations considering the maximum charging current, power consumption of the charging resistor, maximum charging voltage of the capacitor, and the peak pulsed current of the thyristor. The best firing angles of the thyristor are decided based on the simulations focused on the pulsed current of the thyristor, charging diode current, apparent power of the step-up transformer, and reverse voltage of the charging diode. The repetitive di/dt test prototype of 300 A/mu s, 60 Hz, and 60 shots is assembled with the Infineon light-triggered thyristor (T1503N). The design results are verified by an experiment.

Between- and within-person level motivational precursors associated with career exploration
Lee, B.,Porfeli, E.J.,Hirschi, A. Academic Press 2016 Journal of vocational behavior Vol.92 No.-
Career exploration is a critical process for child and adolescent development leading people toward suitable work and developing a vocational identity. The present study examined the role of motivational precursors, namely work valences and personal agency beliefs, in explaining in-breadth and in-depth career exploration. Given the dynamic nature of motivation, we teased apart the between-person differences and within-person variabilities in motivational precursors to examine how they are independently associated with career exploration. Two hundred one high school students comprised the sample and were surveyed three consecutive years. Results revealed that work valences and agency beliefs were associated with career exploration at both the between- and within-person level. Further, when individuals exhibited greater level of agency beliefs and positive valences, they were more likely to exhibit more in-depth exploration one year later. Implications for career guidance are discussed.

The present work studied the effect of space holders on pore structure and mechanical properties in porous titanium. Four types of space holders (sodium chloride, starch, and urea with different size and morphology) were utilized to fabricate porous titanium. The space holders played a key role in the pore structure as confirmed by microstructural observations and three-dimensional computed tomography technique. Mechanical properties of each sample were investigated and discussed on the basis of the tomography results and finite element method. It is concluded that the porosity determines the elastic modulus regardless of the type and morphology of space holders, whereas both porosity and type of space holder affected strength.
