        대만 미디어아트 유형과 특성에 관한 연구

        2000년 이후 뉴미디어의 기술의 발전은 대만의 문화 예술 형성에 영향을 주었다. 대만의 전통 문화예술을 기반으로 영상미디어, 인터넷을 포함한 무선 통신, 그리고 다양한 인터렉티브 표현 미디어는 대만의 현대 예술에 새로운 시각 언어와 조형적 의미를 창출하였다. 이 연구는 대만 미디어아트가 1980년대에 외국에서 유학한 예술가의 국내 유입을 시작으로 최근 20년 동안 진행된 대만 미디어아트 발전 역사에 대하여 연대기적으로 소개하고, 대만 미디어아트의 유형별 특성을 밝혀내는데 그 목적이 있다. 대만 미디어아트의 발전 과정과 유형별 분석 연구를 위하여 예술 관련된 교육 기관과 단체, 미술관, 전시회, 그리고 정부의 미디어아트 관련 자료나 정책을 분석하고 대표적인 대만 미디어아트 예술가의 창작 방법, 작품 형식, 그리고 작품의 내용적 특성을 작품제작에서 사용된 미디어, 전통예술 기반 작품 제작 방법들, 디지털 방식과 표현방법, 관객과의 상호작용 방식 및 소통 방법에 따라 분류하고 그 특성들을 분석하였다. 분석의 결과로 대만의 미디어아트의 발전은 내용적으로 섬이라는 지리적 특수성과 식민지 기간을 통한 문화적 혼재 기간을 통해 연대별로 전통 인문 역사와 개인의 다양한 문맥들을 반영한다. 이런 점에서 대만의 미디어아트는 다 문화적 색채가 포함된 다양하고 자유로운 주제의 유형들로 형성되어 왔으며, 환경적으로는 대만이 반도체강국이라는 특성과 디지털 테크놀로지 영향으로 2010년대 이후의 미디어아트 작품들은 대부분 몰입형 환경, 상호 작용적 설치, 데이터 처리, 가상현실 등의 기술로 제작된 통감각적인 콘텐츠나 미디어 스펙터클 환경의 다학제적 형태들로 이루어진다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 대만의 현대 예술과 동서양 문화예술의 교류적 관점에서 대만 미디어아트의 국제적 전시나 소통에 대한 이해의 기반이 될 수 있으리라 생각한다. The development of new media technology since 2000 has influenced Taiwanese culture and art. Based on traditional Taiwanese culture and art, video media, wireless communication including the Internet, and various interactive expression media have created new visual language and figurative meanings for Taiwanese contemporary art. This study was aimed to introduce the development chronicle of Taiwan's media art which has been going on for 20 years starting from the domestic inflow of artists who studied in foreign countries in the 1980s, and to clarify the characteristics by types of Taiwan's media art. The research was carried out on the classification and analysis of documents from art institutions and organizations, museums, media art exhibitions, and government cultural policies and the characteristics of representative Taiwan media artists' works according to the media used for the production of the works, traditional art making methods, digital applications and expressions, the ways of communication, and interaction with the viewer. With the result of analysis, the development of Taiwan's media art reflects various cultural contexts with private themes and the traditional humanistic history chronologically through the mixed cultural period of geographical specificity like an island and several colonial times. In this sense, Taiwan's media arts have been formed in various types of multi-cultural issues and liberal subject matters and environmentally, owing to the semiconductor and digital technology, most media arts since 2010 are shown as multidisciplinary forms consisting of immersive environment, interactive installation, data processing, synesthetic content, and media spectacle. This study also can be considered as the basis for the condition of the international exhibition and communication of media art from an exchange point of view of culture and arts in Taiwan and the East and West.

        Clinical and laboratory findings of childhood buckwheat allergy in a single tertiary hospital

        Purpose: Buckwheat allergy is one of the most severe types of food allergy in some countries, especially among children. However, few studies have investigated this condition. The aim of this study was to report the clinical and laboratory findings in Korean children with buckwheat allergy. Methods: Thirty-seven subjects, aged 1 to 14 years, were enrolled by retrospective medical record review from January 2000 through May 2015 at the Department of Pediatrics in Ajou University Hospi- tal. The demographic profile, previous exposure to buckwheat pillows, clinical symptoms, and laboratory findings of each subject were recorded. Results: Twenty-six of the 37 children had immediate-type allergic symptoms to buckwheat, while 11 subjects were tolerant to buckwheat. Seventeen out of 26 buckwheat allergic children (65.4%) had anaphylaxis. The median buckwheat specific IgE level in the buckwheat allergic group (7.71 kUA/L) was significantly higher (P<0.001) than in the buckwheat tolerant group (0.08 kUA/L) with an optimal cutoff value of 1.27 kUA/L (sensitivity 84.6%, specificity 100%). When adjusted for age, the difference between the 2 groups showed no statistical significance (P=0.063). In subjects who had anaphylaxis, buckwheat-specific IgE levels ranged from 0.37 to 100 kUA/L. Conclusion: Almost two-thirds of buckwheat-allergic children had anaphylaxis, and a wide-range of buckwheat specific IgE levels were observed in these children. Anaphylaxis occurred in a subject with a remarkably low IgE level (0.37 kUA/L).

        Genetic Variation in Sprout-related Traits and Microsatellite DNA Loci of Soybean

        Genetic diversity and soybean sprout-related traits were evaluated in a total of 72 soybean accessions (60 Glycine max, 7 Glycine soja, and 5 Glycine gracilis). 100-seed weight (SW) was greatly varied and ranged from 3.2g to 32.3g in 72 soybean accessions. Positive correlation was observed between GR and hypocotyl length (HL), whereas negative correlation was observed between SW and hypocotyl diameter (HD). Re-evaluation by discarding two soybean genotypes characterized with low GR indicated that much higher correlation of sprout yield (SY) with HD and SW. Based on the principal component analysis (PCA) for sprout-related traits, 57 accessions were classified. Soybean genotypes with better traits for sprout, such as small size of seeds and high SY, were characterized with high PCA 1 and PCA 2 values. The seed size in second is small but showed low GR and SY, whereas the third has large seed, high GR and more than 400% SY. In genetic similarity analysis using 60 SSR marker genotyping, 72 accessions were classified into three major and several minor groups. Nine of twelve accessions that were identified as the representatives of soybean for sprout based on PCA were in a group by the SSR marker analysis, indicating the SSR marker selection of parental genotypes for soybean sprout improvement program.

      • Analysis of EMS-induced soybean mutants by combination of DOP-PCR and GS FLX

        EMS was commonly used to induce mutations for various organisms, causing nucleotides to mispair with their complementary bases. So, chemical mutagenesis has become the best method for inducing mutations in genetic studies. Simple PCR-based detection and high-throughput technologies helped to screen and identify mutations. Degenerate oligonucleotide primed PCR (DOP-PCR) became getting attention for mutation survey because the requirement of sequence information and high cost for designing primers could be diminished. Also, high-throughput sequencing instruments, such as GS-FLX, allowed characterization of nucleic acids and massive mutant analysis. A total of 6,696 aligned pairs for Sinpaldalkong 2 vs. SS2-2 and 6,935 for Sinpaldalkong 2 vs. 25-1-1 were formed for mutation detection. A mutation every 437 bp in SS2-2 and every 402 bp in 25-1-1 was observed. About 2/3 of a total of mutations were single base variation in both comparisons. Mutated and non-mutated fragments from SS2-2 and 25-1-1 were distributed on all LGs. The 25-1-1 had more mutations than SS2-2 compared with their wild type, Sinpaldalkong 2. Local compositional bias was also observed around the mutated G. Our modified DOP-PCR primers were successfully amplified and their amplicons were located on randomly but somewhat targeted regions of soybean genome.

      • Effect of Gyro Sensor to the Position Error in Mobile Robot

        A mobile robot generates position error when it changes directions. To reduce the position error a gyro sensor can be used. However, the effect of gyro sensor is not fully measured precisely for various conditions. This paper focuses on the effect of gyro sensor by measuring position error which is comprised of angular error and distance error. In the experimentation, the position errors of mobile robots for five different courses are measured for the robot with a gyro sensor and those without it. The closed courses include three, five, seven, nine and eleven direction changes which cause to generate considerable position errors. The experimental result shows that the angular error is reduced to about 14.3%~41.4% after a gyro sensor is used. Further, the position errors in distance are reduced to 22.4~31.8% when a gyro sensor is used. The remarkable difference between the two kind of errors is that the angular error increases steadily whereas the distance error increases rapidly but does not increase anymore over a certain level as the number of direction change increases.

        Influence of Light on Biomass of Soybean in Narrow Strip Cropping of Oat, Corn, and Soybean

        The strip intercropping system has used due to many advantages. Many researches supported these crop systems are usually equal to or better than monoculture crop systems in both total production and profit. There was no research to examine the important ecological factors in the competition between crops. A strip intercropping system composed of adjacent narrow strips of corn, soybean, and oat/legumes has been investigated in Iowa, USA. This study conducted to investigate why and how the differences in soybean yield are produced and affected by light, one of the microclimate, of the strip intercropping system. In height, the two rows of soybean closest to corn were taller than the two rows near the then-empty oat strip. The height of each crop decreased as the amount of light received increased. Weight of plant parts was lowest in row 1, nearest corn, and highest in row 4, next to the vacant oat strip. Daily photon flux density(PFD) increased with increasing distance from corn, with the highest value occurring on the edge next to the empty oat strip. Analyses of the relationship between light and biomass of soybean showed that all biomass measurements had a positive relationship to total PFD per day except height.

        Nanograting-based plasmon enhancement for total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy of live cells

        <P>We investigated evanescent field enhancement based on subwavelength nanogratings for improved sensitivity in total internal reflection microscopy of live cells. The field enhancement is associated with subwavelength-grating-coupled plasmon excitation. An optimum sample employed a silver grating on a silver film and an SF10 glass substrate. Field intensity was enhanced by approximately 90% when measured by fluorescent excitation of microbeads relative to that on a bare prism as a control, which is in good agreement with numerical results. The subwavelength-grating-mediated field enhancement was also applied to live cell imaging of quantum dots, which confirmed the sensitivity enhancement qualitatively. </P>
