        Objectives : We evaluated the efficacy of ramosetron and ondansetron for preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in laparoscopic colectomy. Methods and Materials : Eighty patients who received laparoscopic colectomy were randomly divided into two groups: R group (ramosetron 0.1mg PO) and O group (ondansetron 4mg twice IV). Injection or oral medication was administered before the induction of anesthesia in each group. Injection was administered at the end of surgery in O group. General anesthesia was induced using propofol and rocuronium, and maintained with sevoflurane, remifentanil and air (FiO2 0.5), We investigated the incidences of PONV in each group by the Rhodes index of nausea, vomiting and retching (RINVR) at postoperative 6 and 24 hours. Results : The incidence of PONV was not different between group at each time points after surgery (at postoperative 6 hours: 20% in group R, 17.5% in group 0, at postoperative 24 hours; 12.5% in group R, 7.5% in group 0). There was no difference in the severity of PONV, satisfaction, rescue drug usage. Conclusion : Prophylactic therapy with ramosetron is as effective as conventional prophylactic therapy with ondansetron for preventing PONV in general anesthesia for laparoscopic colectomy.

      • 연속열역학을 이용한 랜덤공중합체 용액의 상분리

        In this work continuos thermodynamics was adopted for describing the influence of copolymer polydispersity on phase separations in random copolymer solutions., Continuous themodynamic frameworks were formulated usign the Flory-Huggin's excess Gibbs free energy model in which the concentration-and temperature-depentent terms of interaction parameter x were modified. Cloud-point curves and coexistence curves of poly(ethylene-vinylactate)/ methylacetate solutions and poly(ehtylene-vinylacetate)/ethylacetate solutions were measured, and experimental data were fitted with theoretical relations formulated in this work. Calculated could-point curves were more good ageeable with experimental data than the modified Flory-Huggins's relations. Coexistence curves which were evaluated by using parameters of x estimated from experimental cloud-point curves, were found to coincide with experimental data.

        Recently, the humidity adjustment of indoor air is of great importance in air conditioning system as a applied, in buildings, vehicles, and containers for storage and transport of perishable products. Membrane dehumidification or air is potentially attractive because it offers low capital and operating costs, along with low energy consumption. And membrane dehumidification process attracted the attention of the public instead of the other dehumidification processes, such as adsorption, absorption, and refrigeration cycles and so on. In this study, the prepared hydrophilic inorganic membrane-based dehumidifiers (membrane air dehumidification) examined the performance of dehumidification. The surface-modified inorganic membrane prepared in this study showed high dehumidification efficiency (over 80%). Thc membrane might be very useful for dehumidification industries.

        In recent year, domestic distribution industry has been facing drastic change. As the domestic distribution market is opened completly, the competition is being strengthened. These circumstance, as a part of strengthening competitiveness and modernization of distribution system, required the informationization of distribution on the basic of introduction and use of POS system. Therefore, this article was investigated the basic concepts of the POS system and the practical use and introduction of POS system in order to maxmize the efficiency of management for distribution companies.

      • 프로폴리스 농도가 항균활성에 미치는 영향

        The objetives of this study are to set up optimum extraction temperature, time and organic solvent for propolis extraction, to investigate chemical properties, and to develop health foods from propolis preparation. In this study, ethanol and ultrasonic extracts method performed to optimum extraction temperature was at 60, 2012, optimum extraction time was at 12, 4 hours and optimum extraction amount of solvent was at 20, 15 times of propolis weight. When various ethanol solutions were used, whereas flavonoid content was highest in 70, 80% aqueous ethanol, respectively. So the ultrasonic extracts method used gave better results than the ethanol extracts method in this work. Extraction of propolis with etanol and ultrasonic extracts method was performed by using the water and various concentrations of aqueous ethanol as solvent. Sensidvity of propolis samples to Staphylococcus aureus was invesdgated and the results were shown. Samples of water extract did not inhibit microbial growth, where as 50% aqueous ethanol extract the largest inhibitory zone for Staphylococcus aureus, then decreased inhibition with increasing ethanol concentrations.

        우리나라 논 관개용 지하수 수질 특성

        This study was carried out to evaluate the status of the groundwater quality for paddy fields irrigation in Korea. Water samples were collected at 130 sites throughout the country. Samples were collected at three seasons-April, July and October-in 2000. According to our survey, the groundwater was found to be suitable for irrigation purpose. Average EC was shown 0.286 dS/m. Nitrate-nitrogen and Cl^(-) concentration was 5.6 ㎎/L, 32.95 ㎎/L which satisfied the Korean Standards for Irrigation Water. Nitrate-nitrogen concentration in each province was shown as following orders: Jeju (11.17 ㎎/L) > Chungnam (8.16 ㎎/L) > Gyeongbuk (6.64 ㎎/L) > Gyounggi (5.91 ㎎/L) > Chungnam (4.95 ㎎/L) > Gyeongnam (3.91 mgk) > Jeonbuk (3.50 ㎎/L) > Jeonnam (3.27 ㎎/L) > Gangwon (2.91 ㎎/L). The concentration by sampling seasons were October (6.62 ㎎/L) > July (5.88 mg&) > April (4.78㎎/L). As the soil of Jeju Province is usually derived from volcanic ash soils mainly used for upland drops, it may influence the nitrate-nitrogen concentration of groundwater. The amount of rainfall also influence the water quality. But the COD_(Cr), were shown April (3.17㎎/L) > July (2.91 ㎎/L) > October (2.40 ㎎/L), it is highly related in the basal dose of organic matter fertilizers. This study demonstrated that groundwater quality was suitable for irrigation, but continuous monitoring is recommended for agricultural policy and developing OECD agricultural environment indicators.

      • 폴리설폰 중공사막에 대한 산소/질소 혼합물의 분리

        국내 K-그룹 연구소에서 제조한 폴리설폰 중공사막의 산소/질소 혼합물에 대한 압력, stage cut, 공급기체 혼합물의 조성에 따른 분리성능을 조사하였다. 본 실험의 압력범위와 온도 30℃에서의 이상분리인자(O₂/N₂)는 5.7이었으며, 유입기체 혼합물의 21 mole% 산소농도가 약 50 mole%로 농축되었다. 저압츠과 고압측의 압력비는 산소농축에 미치는 영향이 적었으며, 이상분리인자의 영향은 매우 컸다. 그러나, 이상분리인자가 증가함에 따라 이상분리인자의 영향은 둔화되었다. 따라서, 이상분리인자가 큰 신소재 개발과 더불어 공정변수의 최저화가 필요하다. 수학적 모델링에 의한 예측치와 실험치가 잘 맞았다. The performance of the polysulfone hollow-fiber membrane manufactured by K-group Research Institute in Korea was investigated for the separation of O₂/N₂mixture as a function of pressure, stage cut, and feed gas composition. The ideal separation factor(O₂/N₂) at temperature 30℃ was around 5.7 in the pressure ranges studied. Oxygen concentration of 21 mole% in feed stream was concentrated to about 50%. Although the pressure ratio between high and low pressure side showed little effect, ideal separation factor showed greater effect on the oxygen enrichment. However, the effect was declined with increase in the ideal separation factor. Therefroe, the optimization of process variable is necessary as well as development of new material with high ideal separation factor. It was fond that experimental data were well correlated with the prediction of mathematical model.
