Objective: Soy sauce oil, a byproduct of whole soybean processing by the soy sauce industry, was evaluated as a source of linoleic acid for dairy cows for the purpose of manipulating the composition of milk. Methods: Eight dairy Holstein cows fitted with rumen cannulas were used for ruminal administration of soy sauce oil for a 28-day period using a 4×4 Latin square study design with 4 doses (0, 200, 400, and 600 g soy sauce oil/d). Results: Although dry matter intake and milk yield were not affected by soy sauce oil administration, ruminal concentrations of total volatile fatty acids and acetate were decreased, specifically at 600 g/d administration. While milk fat percentage was decreased with administration of soy sauce oil, proportions of linoleic, vaccenic and conjugated linoleic acids in the rumen, blood and milk were increased with increasing soy sauce oil dose. Conclusion: These results suggest that soy sauce oil feeding could be useful for improving milk functionality without adverse effects on animal production performance when fed at less than 400 g/d.

The conductivity of CuI lm was greatly increased by the addition of the thiocyanate salts and the photoenergy conversion e-ciency of DSSSCs made with this CuI lm as a hole transporting material was greatly improved. The optimum amount of SCN saltfor the cell performance was 45% to CuI, and an excessive addition declined cell performance in spite of conductivity increasing..
Multidisciplinary Optimization of Vehicle Performance and Interplanetary Trajectory
Tomokazu Konno,Takeshi Tsuchiya 한국항공우주학회 2008 한국항공우주학회 학술발표회 논문집 Vol.- No.-
A spacecraft which travels from the Earth to Mars is optimized using a Genetic Algorithm. This study considers a spacecraft with electric propulsion that explores into deep space. The vehicle design parameters are the distribution of vehicle mass and the distribution of electric power consumption. The mission plan is to fly from the earth to Mars and to carry out fly -by in Mars. The objective functions are total mass and flight time; thus this problem is a multiobjective optimization problem. Trade-on' curves are obtained from pareto sets. The plural purpose functions have a relation of the trade-off in many cases. The designer gets possible to grasp a trade-off between the purpose functions by watching the distribution of the pareto set of solutions. This research that the thrust direction is controlled. Moreover, suppose that coasting is performed by considering on-off of a thrust. The results when thrust is controlled and not controlled are compared.
Insufficient Self-Shielding Correctionin JSSTDL-300
C. Konno,K. Ochiai,S. Ohnishi 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.59 No.23
JSSTDL-300 is a multigroup library for shielding applications produced from JENDL-3.2. The self-shielding correction in JSSTDL-300 is probably inadequate due to the following two reasons, 1) the weighting flux of Legendre order 0 is applied to all Legendre orders, 2) the f-table of the scattering matrix is the same as that of the elastic scattering. Thus we examined the effects of these problems through a simple benchmark test, the model of which consisted of an aluminum, iron, nickel or copper sphere of 1 m in radius with a 20 MeV neutron source in the center. Neutron spectra in the sphere were calculated with ANISN and they were compared with those obtained with MCNP4C. It was found out that the effects were dependent on materials and were the largest for copper. Adequate f-table data and weighting flux should be adopted in generation of multigroup libraries.
What Factors Mediate Individual Differences in Color Matching?
Atsushi Konno,Kunihiro Hatakeyama,Yuki Kawashima,Tomonori Tashiro,Takehiro Nagai,Yasuki Yamauchi 한국색채학회 2017 AIC 2017 Jeju Vol.2017 No.10
We aimed to specify physiological factors which mediate individual differences in color matching. In previous studies, we found that the deviations of the color matching for the red-green direction is correlated with the macular pigment density. However, the factors causing blue-yellow deviation were not clarified. In this study, we performed a color matching experiment using metamers with the identical tristimulus values and an identical amount of the macular pigment absorption to examine the deviations of the color matching in the blue-yellow direction. As a result, there was a correlation between color matching deviations and the amounts of light absorbed by lens for each metamer, suggesting that the deviations of color matching in blue-yellow direction may be due to the amount absorbed of lens. These results suggest that individual difference in color matching in short wavelength light is strongly mediated by these two physiological properties of the eye.
Lymphadenectomy issues in endometrial cancer

Objectives: This review aims to introduce preoperative scoring systems to predict lymphnode metastasis (LNM) and ongoing clinical trials to investigate the therapeutic role oflymphadenectomy for endometrial cancer. Methods: We summarized previous reports on the preoperative prediction models forLNM and evaluated their validity to omit lymphadenectomy in our recent cohorts. Next, wecompared characteristics of two ongoing lymphadenectomy trials (JCOG1412, ECLAT) toexamine the survival benefit of lymphadenectomy in endometrial cancer, and described thedetails of JCOG1412. Results: Lymphadenectomy has been omitted for 64 endometrial cancer patients who met low risk criteria to omit lymphadenectomy using our scoring system (LNM score) and no lymphaticfailure has been observed. Other two models also produced comparable results. Two randomizedphase III trials to evaluate survival benefit of lymphadenectomy are ongoing for endometrialcancer. JCOG1412 compares pelvic lymphadenectomy alone with pelvic and para-aorticlymphadenectomy to evaluate the therapeutic role of para-aortic lymphadenectomy for patients atrisk of LNM. For quality assurance of lymphadenectomy, we defined several regulations, includinglower limit of the number of resected nodes, and submission of photos of dissected area toevaluate thoroughness of lymphadenectomy in the protocol. The latest monitoring report showedthat the quality of lymphadenectomy has been well-controlled in JCOG1412. Conclusion: Our strategy seems reasonable to omit lymphadenectomy and could begeneralized in clinical practice. JCOG1412 is a high-quality lymphadenectomy trial in terms ofthe quality of surgical procedures, which would draw the bona-fide conclusions regarding thetherapeutic role of lymphadenectomy for endometrial cancer.
Analysis of Driver's Head Movement by Motion Sickness Model
Hiroyuki Konno,Satoru Fujisawa,Katsuya Imaizumi,Takahiro Wada,Norimasa Kamiji,Shun’ichi Doi 대한인간공학회 2010 대한인간공학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2010 No.5
Driver receives the acceleration and the rotational stimulations when negotiating with a curve. In such a situation, the driver controls his/her posture such as the head and the body appropriately. Beside, it is pointed out that the head movement of the passenger is opposite to the driver. Moreover, by the fact that the driver does not get carsickness comparing with the passenger, it is suggested that the driver's head movement may be related to the decrease of carsickness and improvement of the ride comfort. Therefore, we build the mathematical model of the motion sickness and investigated the relationship between the head movement and the motion sickness incidence. In addition, we simulate motion sickness incidence using driver’s head movements measured in the experiments with a real car. From the result, it is shown that the head tilt movement of the drivers has an effect to decrease the motion sickness.
