Covariant Light-Front Approach for s-wave and p-wave Mesons
Chun-Khiang Chua 한국물리학회 2004 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.45 No.2
We study the decay constants and form factors of the ground-state s-wave and low-lying p-wave mesons within a covariant light-front approach. Numerical results of the B ! D transition form factors, where D denotes generically a p-wave charmed meson, are compared with other model calculations. Predictions on the decay rates for B ! D, D, D s D() by using these decay constants and form factors are in agreement with the experimental data. The universal Isgur-Wise functions, ; 1=2; 3=2 are obtained and are used to test the Bjorken and Uraltsev sum rules.

Deregulations and market practices in power industry have brought great challenges to the system planning area. In particular, they introduce a variety of uncertainties to system planning. New techniques are required to cope with such uncertainties. As a promising approach, probabilistic methods are attracting more and more attentions by system planners. In small signal stability analysis, generation control parameters play an important role in determining the stability margin. The objective of this paper is to investigate power system state matrix sensitivity characteristics with respect to system parameter uncertainties with analytical and numerical approaches and to identify those parameters have great impact on system eigenvalues, therefore, the system stability properties. Those identified parameter variations need to be investigated with priority. The results can be used to help Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) and Independent System Operators (ISOs) perform planning studies under the open access environment.

Orally disintegrating tablet (ODT) is a userfriendly and convenient dosage form. The study aimed toinvestigate the effect of polymers and wheat starch on thetablet properties of lyophilized ODT, with dapoxetine asmodel drug. Three polymers (hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, carbopol 934P and Eudragit EPO) and wheat starchwere used as matrix forming materials in preparation oflyophilized ODT. The polymeric dispersion was casted intoa mould and kept in a freezer at -20 C for 4 h beforefreeze dried for 12 h. It was found that increasing in HPMCand Carbopol 934P concentrations produced tablets withhigher hardness and longer disintegration time. In contrast,Eudragit EPO was unable to form tablet with sufficienthardness at various concentrations. Moreover, HPMCseems to have a stronger effect on tablet hardness comparedto Carbopol 934P at the same concentration level. ODT of less friable was obtained. Wheat starch acted asbinder which strengthen the hardness of ODTs and prolongedthe disintegration time. ODT comprising of HPMCand wheat starch at ratio of 2:1 was found to be optimumbased upon the tablet properties. The optimum formulationwas palatable and 80 % of the drug was released within30 min in the dissolution study.

A mycoparasite, Scytalidium parasiticum sp. nov., isolated from the basidiomata of Ganoderma boninense causing basal stem rot of oil palm in Johor, Malaysia, is described and illustrated. It is distinct from other Scytalidium species in having smaller asci and ascospores (teleomorphic stage), longer arthroconidia (anamorphic stage), hyaline to yellowish chlamydospores, and producing a fluorescent pigment. The phylogenetic position of S. parasiticum was determined by sequence analyses of the internal transcribed spacers and the small-subunit ribosomal RNA gene regions. A key to identify Scytalidium species with teleomorphic stage is provided.
