In a revision of four Eurydema speices recorded in Far East Asia, we confirm only two species, one of which consists of two subspecies: E. dominulus (Scopoli 1763) [=E. pulchra (Westwood 1837), syn. nov.], E. gebleri gebleri Kolenati 1846, and E. gebleri rugosa Motschulsky 1861 [stat. nov.]. In order to prove the above taxonomic changes, we compared three major characters; (1) the color patterns, (2) the mitochondrial COI (DNA barcoding) and (3) cross– breeding fertility (inter–specific copulation). Two subspecies, E. g. rugosa and E. g. gebleri, preserve their own unique coloration patterns, confirmed by the intra–subspecific copulation and breeding. Interestingly, the 1st progeny from the inter–subspecific copulation of E. g. rugosa♂ X E. g. gebleri♀ (or E. g. gebleri♂ X E. g. rugosa♀) take the coloration patterns inherited from E. g. gebleri.

Only two species of Eurydema occur in Korea and Japan: E. dominulus (Scopoli, 1763) [= E. pulchra (Westwood, 1837), syn. n.] and E. gebleri Kolenati, 1846 [= E. rugosa Motschulsky, 1861, syn. n.]. In order to prove the above taxonomical change, we focused on three major works (1)morphology, (2)molecular identification and (3)biological experiment (inter-specific copulation, confirmation of fertilization and interbreeding). All the results of these three major works support to confirm new taxonomical change amongst these four species. The inter-specific copulation occurs (E. pulchra_male X E. gebleri_female) in nature, but the eggs from inter-specific copulation are confirmed not to be fertilized as a result of the biological experiment. A new identification key to species occurring in Korea and Japan is presented for the all stages (from eggs to adult).
A new record of the infraorder Dipsocoromorpha (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) from South Korea
정성훈,이승환,Izyaslav M. Kerzhner 한국응용곤충학회 2011 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.14 No.2
The infraorder Dipsocoromorpha is recorded for the first time from South Korea based on specimens of Ceratocombus plebejus Poppius. Descriptions, measurements, and photographs of the species are provided.
Additions and corrections to the list of Korean Heteroptera
Lee, C.E.,Miyamoto, S.,Kerzhner, I.M. 韓國自然史博物學會 1994 生物과 自然 Vol.24 No.1-2
The paper contains additions and corrections to the list of Korean Heteroptera (Lee et Kwon, 1991). Of the species considered, 35 are new to Korea and 63 to Korea south of the DMZ; 16 species are excluded from the list as junior synonyms or misidentifications. The following new synonymies are established. MIRIDAE: Deraeocoris pulchellus (Reuter, 1906), stat. n. (D. punctulatus var. pulchellus)= D. punctulatus var. poppiusi (Reuter, 1906) = D. onphoriensis Josifov, 1992; Orthotylus salicis Jakovlev, 1983 =O. kymgangsanicus Josifov, 1987; Pilophorus erraticus Linnavuori, 1962 = P. alni Josifov, 1987. REDUVIDAE: Oncocephalus as similis Reuter, 1882 = O. misellus Dispons, 1968; O. simillimus Reuter, 1888 = O. confusus Hsiao, 1977. LYGAEIDAE: Tropidothorax sinensis (Reuter, 1888), stat. n. (T. cruciger var. sinensis) = T. belogolowi (Jakovlev, 1889). Keys are given for Far Eastern species of Oncocephalus and Tropidothorax.
