Background: Gordonia species were recently found to cause human infection. Most Gordonia bronchialis infections are associated with sternal wounds and foreign bodies. Case presentation: Here, we present a case of a cutaneous firm nodule caused by G. bronchialis on an immunocompetent patient’s lower extremity after receiving acupuncture. Conclusion: Our present case indicates spontaneous cutaneous infection of G. bronchialis can develop even in a healthy patient. With the popularity of complementary and alternative medicine, physicians should be aware that G. bronchialis infection can be associated with oriental medicine similar to mycobacterial infection. Recognizing the diverse clinical features of newly emerging Gordonia species will facilitate appropriate diagnosis and management of future patients.

Lymphomatoid contact dermatitis is a subset of cutaneous pseudolymphoma that clinically and histopathologically resembles both allergic contact dermatitis and cutaneous lymphoma. A variety of allergens have been described since the first description of this entity in 1976. Typically lymphomatoid contact dermatitis is related to T cell hyperplasia. We herein describe a case of cutaneous B-cell lymphoid contact dermatitis caused by hair dye. This case demonstrates that lymphomatoid contact dermatitis can present with various clinical features and emphasizes that thorough history-taking and examination is important for the diagnosis.

In this paper, we prove that for C1 generically, if ev-ery hyperbolic periodic point in a chain component is uniformly far away from being nonhyperbolic, and it is C1-robustly average shadowable, then the chain component is hyperbolic.

Objective: To report our experience with intraprocedural rupture (IPR) of intracranial aneurysms during endovascular treatment and evaluate alterations in vital signs as independent prognostic factors to predict the outcomes of IPR.Methods: Between January 2008 and August 2021, 34 patients (8 ruptured and 26 unruptured) were confirmed to have IPR based on our dataset with 3178 endovascular coiling procedures. The patients who underwent additional surgeries related to IPR were classified as the OP group (n=9), while those who did not receive additional surgeries were classified as the non-OP group (n=25). Vital signs were recorded during the procedure by anesthesiologists and analyzed.Results: Of the 34 patients included in this study, eight initially presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage due to a ruptured aneurysm. The clinical outcomes at discharge were significantly different between the two groups (p=0.046). In the OP group, five patients showed favorable outcomes at discharge, while four showed unfavorable outcomes. In the non-OP group, 23 patients showed favorable outcomes at discharge while two patients showed unfavorable outcomes. Maximal (MAX) systolic blood pressure (SBP) (odds ratio [OR] 1.520, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.084-2.110; p=0.037) and higher differential value MAX-median blood pressure (MBP) (OR 1.322, 95% CI 1.029-1.607; p=0.044) remained independent risk factors for poor prognosis after IPR on multivariate logistic regression analysis.Conclusions: The MAX SBP and the difference between the maximal and baseline values of MBP are key factors in predicting the prognosis of patients after IPR, as well as providing useful information for predicting the outcome. Further research is required to confirm the relationship between naive pressure and prognosis.

Diets influence lifespan and reproduction in insects, but little is known how temperature modulates the impacts of diet on these two key fitness components. Here we examined the interactive effects of temperature and nutrient balance on lifespan and egg production rate in Drosophila melanogaster. Newly emerged adult D. melanogaster were allowed to feed ad libitum on one of eight chemically defined diets differing in P:C ratio (1:16, 1:8, 1:4, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 4:1, or 8:1) under one of six ambient temperatures (13, 18, 23, 28, 31, or 33℃). For both males and females, lifespan was longest for D. melanogaster fed on P:C 1:16 diet at 13℃ and shortened as both temperature and P:C ratio increased. As indicated by a significant temperature-by-diet interaction for lifespan, the diet effects on lifespan were more pronounced at lower temperatures than at higher temperatures. Egg production rate was maximized on P:C 4:1 diet at 28℃.
