Arteriovenous fistula of uterus is a very rare cause of massive uterine bleeding. However, it is important to make a rapid and precise diagnosis when it does occur, because life-threatening massive vaginal bleeding may occasionally be a symptom of this disease. Uterine curettage or surgical trauma can cause vascular abnormalities, including pseudoaneurysms, acquired ateriovenous malformations, ateriovenous fistulas, and rupture of vessels. The diagnosis is made by angiography, and gray scale ultrasonography, color and duplex doppler ultrasonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging is helpful. Ultrasonography is the most commonly performed initial imaging examination for evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding. Color and duplex Doppler US is an appropriate modality for the detection and diagnosis of uterine ateriovenous malformations and for follow-up after embolization. Transcatheter embolization has replaced hysterectomy as the treatment of choice in women wish to retain thier fertility. A case of arteriovenous malformation of the uterus which was diagnosed by ultrasonography. So reported this case with a brief review of the literature.

<▼1><P>Pt(<SMALL>II</SMALL>) complexes catalyse the visible light-driven trifluoromethylation of alkenes and heteroarenes with improved quantum yields, due to strict adherence to an oxidative quenching pathway.</P></▼1><▼2><P>The incorporation of a trifluoromethyl group into an existing scaffold can provide an effective strategy for designing new drugs and agrochemicals. Among the numerous approaches to trifluoromethylation, radical trifluoromethylation mediated by visible light-driven photoredox catalysis has gathered significant interest as it offers unique opportunities for circumventing the drawbacks encountered in conventional methods. A limited understanding of the mechanism and molecular parameters that control the catalytic actions has hampered the full utilization of photoredox catalysis reactions. To address this challenge, we evaluated and investigated the photoredox catalytic trifluoromethylation reaction using a series of cyclometalated Pt(<SMALL>II</SMALL>) complexes with systematically varied ligand structures. The Pt(<SMALL>II</SMALL>) complexes were capable of catalyzing the trifluoromethylation of non-prefunctionalized alkenes and heteroarenes in the presence of CF<SUB>3</SUB>I under visible light irradiation. The high excited-state redox potentials of the complexes permitted oxidative quenching during the cycle, whereas reductive quenching was forbidden. Spectroscopic measurements, including time-resolved photoluminescence and laser flash photolysis, were performed to identify the catalytic intermediates and directly monitor their conversions. The mechanistic studies provide compelling evidence that the catalytic cycle selects the oxidative quenching pathway. We also found that electron transfer during each step of the cycle strictly adhered to the Marcus normal region behaviors. The results are fully supported by additional experiments, including photoinduced ESR spectroscopy, spectroelectrochemical measurements, and quantum chemical calculations based on time-dependent density functional theory. Finally, quantum yields exceeding 100% strongly suggest that radical propagation significantly contributes to the catalytic trifluoromethylation reaction. These findings establish molecular strategies for designing trifluoromethyl sources and catalysts in an effort to enhance catalysis performance.</P></▼2>
도선사의 관점에서 본 울산항 도선구의 통항 현황 분석에 관한 연구

울산항 도선구는 부산항과 더불어 우리나라 도선구 중 도선사가 승선하는 선박이 가장 많은 지역이며, 항로 배치가 단순한 편이지만 항로 주위에 부두가 인접하여 해상교통흐름의 혼잡도가 높은 항만이다. 울산항을 이용하는 선박은 아침저녁 시각대에 집중하여 밀집되어 있고, 지형적으로 길이가 긴 항로와 항로 부근에 인접한 부두, 정박지 등으로 인하여 여러 곳에서의 선박간 교차로 위험이 상존하는 해역이다. 이에 이 해역을 이용하고 있는 도선사의 관점으로 울산항 도선구 현황 및 통항선박의 위험요인에 대하여 조사ㆍ분석하였다. 또한 선박운항자의 조선 부담감을 정량화한 환경스트레스 모델을 이용하여 어느 해역에 조선 부담감이 존재하는지를 제시하여 도선사들이 어느 정도의 위험을 안고 도선을 수행하고 있는지 조사분석을 통하여 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 본 연구를 통하여 대상해역을 통항하는 선박들이 지정항법을 따를 수 없는 원인 분석이 가능하게 되어 향후 대상해역 통항 안전 개선방안 마련이 가능할 것으로 판단한다. Ulsan pilotage is one of the most busy pilots boarding among the korean pilotages. The route layout of ulsan port is simple but the complex degree of marine traffic flow is high because there are many navigating ships from/to piers and anchorages nearby route. So, this paper is surveyed and analysised the navigating dangerous factors as to navigation danger elements in/near the route, the proper distance between piers at the ulsan waterways. And this research assures the same place where shiphandling bunder is occurred to compare the danger sense of pilot with environment stress to represented the mariner’s shiphandling stress quantitatively at the ulsan route.

In 1962, a case of "generalized skeletal dysplasia with multiple anomalies" was reported by Taybi as a new clinical syndrome. The most characteristic features of the syndrome seemed to be hearing loss, cleft palate and peculiar digital anomalies, so, the syndrome designated as otopalatodigital syndrome by Dudding, et al. Recently, The authors have experienced a case OPD syndrome who visited Yeungnam University Hospital with the chief complaint of hypernasality, and underwent pharyngoplasty for correction of VPI. We present here a new case and review the literature on the subject.

. As public awareness of the various warning signs of malignancy increases, so does the concern evoked by the self identified finding of mass in the head and neck area. Not all the palpable masses are always significantly abnormal, but any nontender mass especially to the adult is significant enough to warrent further full investigation and follow up, the object of which should be to derermine the possibility of malignancy and urgency of treatment. Approach to the diagnosis of the neck mass is so important in that it affects decision regarding further evaluation would lead to the determination of the most efficacious mode of therapy, eventually to the good prognosis. So, it should be emphasized that approach to the diagnosis of neck mass should be planned, systematic and thorough, this begins with the taking careful history following prtformance of comprete examination of the head and neck especially to the nasopharynx,tongue base, pyriform sinus,palathne tonsil and larynx. Then a number of laboratory and radiologic studies are available,following triple endoscopy under general anesthsia and blind biopsy if needed. The most important rule to keep is that any biopsy procedures should be delayed to the last modality of effort to the diagnosis and if it should be done, under the plan of radical neck dissection.

<P>A two-terminal perpendicular spin-transfer torque (p-STT) based neuron with a 100 × 100 nm device size was fabricated with a p-STT magnetic tunneling junction (MTJ) spin valve. It performed well in the integrate-and-fire event of the input voltage pulse (spike) cycles, which originate from the imperfect structure of the MgO tunneling barrier in a p-STT MTJ spin valve (i.e. a nano-scale poly-grain size distribution of the MgO tunneling barrier). In particular, the integrate-and-fire cycles rapidly increase as the input voltage pulse (spike) amplitude, width, and external assistant perpendicular magnetic field decrease.</P>
