        The specificity of induction of cellulose-and xylan-degrading enzymes in Aspergillus nidulans was investigated using various cellulosic and hemicellulosic substrates as carbon sources. Even though A. nidulans was stimulated in growth when the organism was grown on glucose and other readily metabolizable substrates, the biosynthesis of cellulase and xylanase complexes was not clearly correlated with the growth. The most potent inducers for cellulase and xylanase complexes were carboxymethylcellulose for endoglucanase, cellobiose for β-glucosidase, and xylan for endoxylanase and β-xylosidase. The mixtures of these inducers, however, were much more effective not only for the enhancement of the biosynthesis of all cellulase and xylanase complexes but also for the balanced production of these enzyme components than individual inducers. These substrate synergisms suggest that the biosynthes is of cellulase and xylanase complexes in A. nidulans is regulated in coordination at the level of induction.

      • Adsorption and Activity of Carboxymetylcellulase on Clay Minerals

        Most of abiontic soil carboxymethylcellulase (CMCase) actiivities were located in clay and silt frac- tions, but CMCase holding capacity of clay fraction was by far greater than that of silt fraction, The adsorption of CMCase on kaolinite was found to be pH dependent and maximum adsorption occurred at or below the isoelectric point (pI) of this enzyme. Adsorption of CMCase on clay minerals appeared to result in a severe loss of activity. A competition between CMCase and substrate for binding to clay minerals was an obstacle for rapid enzymatic biodegradation of substrate. CMCase adsorbed on clay tion to the surface area and cation- exchange capacity of clays.         Wireless Digital Stethoscope Diagnosis System using Heart Rate

        환자의 흉부에서 들리는 심음은 아날로그청진기를 이용하여 들을 수 있었다. 그러나 심음은 듣는 의사에 따라 다르게 진단한다. 그러므로 오랜 경험과 노하우를 가진 의사들만이 주관적인 판단으로 환자의 이상 유 무를 판단할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 심음의 심박수를 분석하여 환자의 상태를 진단 할 수 있는 무선디지털 청진 진단시스템에 대해 자세하게 서술한다. 그리고, 이 시스템을 통해 진단되는 심음에 대한 레벨교차율(LCR)과 질병의 관계를 보여준다. 또한, 심박수와 질병에 대해 새로운 개념의 진단시스템 환경을 제시하고 심박수의 레벨교차율은 질병에 따라 중요한 차이를 보여준다. Heart sounds of patient’s chest could be heard using an analog stethoscope. However, auscultation of a heart sound can be diagnosed differently by each doctor hearing it. Therefore the condition of each patient is determined by the subjective comments based on the hearing ability of a physician who has years of experience. In this paper, through analysis of heart sound and heart rate of the patient’s condition, we will define minutely how to diagnose the condition of patient using a wireless digital stethoscope diagnostic system. And it is possible to perform an objective medical diagnosis by applying LCR (Level Crossing Rate) and to show the relationship of a disease using this system

        Animal Diagnosis System Using Wireless Digital Stethoscope

        동물 의료는 병의 정도나 치료의 필요성에 관계없이 보호자의 의향이 앞서는 어려운 의료행위이다. 특히, 동물 치료 중 심장 질환은 필요한 치료법의 결정이나 치료 효과의 확인에 대해서 동물 환자로부터 직접적인 답을 얻기가 어렵다. 그래서 동물 환자의 경우, 심장질환은 증상의 악화로 급변하거나 돌연사 등의 응급사태를 예측하고 그것에 대처하는 것은 거의 불가능하다. 심장 및 몸 안의 질환을 확인하는 1차 진단 방법은 청진이다. CT나 X-ray, 초음파 등의 최첨단 영상장비들을 이용하여 정확하게 측정할 수 있지만 장비가 비싸고, 이를 활용할 수 있는 전문인력이 요구되는 등 경제성으로 인해 2차 진단장비로 활용되어질 뿐 1차 진단을 위한 가장 좋은 진단도구로 여전히 청진기가 이용되어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 수의사가 귀에 대지 않고 청진음을 분석하고 무선으로 어디서나 진단 할 수 있는 무선디지털 진단시스템에 대해 자세하게 서술하고, 이 시스템을 통해 진단되는 청진음에 대한 레벨교차율(LCR)과 에너지레벨을 통해 질병의 관계에 대해 새로운 개념의 진단시스템 환경을 제시한다. Medical treatment for animals is very difficult as the opinions of pets" masters take priority over treatment regardless of the seriousness of pets" disease or the needs of medical treatment. In case that a pet has heart disease, especially, it is difficult to get the direct answer from the pet"s master on the decision or confirmation of treatment. For those reasons, it is almost impossible to predict and treat the pet before an emergency like the heart failure or an unexpected death happens. Using stethoscope can be the first diagnosis method to check the heart or any kinds of disease inside the body. High-tech equipments like CT, X-ray or Ultrasound can be used, but they can only be used as a second choice of diagnosis method since it requires professional skills and its high price. That"s why stethoscope is still the best diagnostic tool when one makes the first diagnosis. In this study, we give a detailed account of digital diagnosis system in which veterinarians can analyze the sound from stethoscope without bringing it to their ears and make a diagnosis wherever they are. And we suggest a new concept of diagnosis system surrounding, which shows the relativeness of disease through Level Crossing Rate(LCR) and energy level from the stethoscope sound made in this system.

        예방진단기술을 이용한 지능형 GIS 감시시스템에 관한 연구

        본 논문에서, 가스절연개폐장치(GIS)의 정상상태와 비정상상태에 대해 예방진단기술을 이용하여 자세하게 서술하였다. 이 기술은 지능형 GIS 감시시스템에 의해 저장된 GIS의 데이터의 분석과 진단에 근거한다. GIS음의 파형은 방전과 자체내의 코로나 방전음에 의해 발생되는 것으로 잡음과 비슷하다. 그러므로, 본 논문에서, GIS음의 정상 상태와 비정상 상태로 분류하는데, 정상과 비정상 상태를 레벨교차율(LCR)과 스펙트로그램 에너지비율로 이용하여 구분하였다. In this study, we give a detailed account of normal and abnormal state of GIS(Gas Insulated Switch-gear) using the preventive diagnostic technology. And it is based on the analysis and diagnosis for storing data of GIS by intelligent GIS monitoring system. The wave shape of GIS sound is similar to noise and is systematically generated by discharge and its corona sound. Therefore, in this paper, to classify normal and abnormal GIS sound. We could discriminate between normal and abnormal case using level crossing rate(LCR) and spectrogram energy rate.

      • 비발효성 그람음성 간균의 임상적의의

        Nonfermentative gram negative bacilli isolated, from the various clinical specimens were studied from the period Septetmber, 1983 to August, 1985 at the Korea University-Guro Hospital. 1) Among the total 5052 bacteria isolated Enterobacteriaceae, gram-positive cocci and nonfermentative gram negative bacilli were 2,811(55.6%), 1,290(25.5%), 913(18.1%) respectively. 2) Distribution of nonfermentative gram negative bacterial genus were Pseudomonas(8.1%), Acinetobacter(20.0%), Alcaligenes(17.7%), Achromobacter(2.2%), Flavobacterium(1.6%) etc in decreasing order of frequency. Distribution of nonfermentative gram negative bacterial species were Pseudomonas aeruginosa(50.9%), Alcaligenes species(17.7%), Acinetobacter calcoaceticus var antitratus(15.2%) etc in decreasing order of frequency. 3) The most frequently isolated nonfermentative gram negative bailli in sputum, urine, pus, bile, throat, ear discharge and chest tube were Pseudomonas aeruginosa. However, Alcaligenes species were most frequently isolated nonfermentative gram negative bacilli in blood and vaginal swabs. 4) Generally, nonfermentative gram negative bacilli revealed resistant patterns against gram-negative antimicrobial agents.

        교액성 장폐쇄가 동반된 산모에서 전신마취중에 발생한 흡인성 폐렴

        Pulmonary aspiration of gastric contents is the main cause of anesthesia-related maternal deaths. We experienced a case of pulmonary aspiration during induction of general anesthesia for an emergency cesarean section. The parturient was admitted for severe abdominal pain and abnormal fetal movement. She had no remarkable past medical history except for an appendectomy, 3 years earlier. The massive pulmonary aspiration of acid-liquid, malodorous feculent, gastric contents occurred accidently. Immediate endotracheal intubation and suction were followed. The strangulation ileus of the small bowel resulting from the pressure of the enlarged uterus on intestinal adhesions was detected after cesarean delivery and severe pulmonary edema developed during the perioperative period. Intensive care including mechanical ventilation with positive end-expiratory pressure, frequent suction, antibiotic therapy and other measures was attempted. At the 50th day after the operation the patient was discharged fortunately without any meaningful pulmonary sequelae. In conclusion, we should be aware of the possibility of mechanical ileus and pulmonary aspiration in parturients with past abdominal operation histories during anesthesia for cesarean section.         하지수술환자에서 지주막하차단에 미치는 척추경막외 병용마취의 효과

        Background : Combined spinal epidural anesthesia(CSE) often produces a more extensive spinal block than expected. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of CSE on subarachnoid block in patients undergoing lower extremity surgery. Methods : Thirty-three patients who undergone lower extremity surgeries were randomly allocated to three groups of 11 patients each. Using needle through needle technique, all patients received a subarachnoid injection of hyperbaric 0.5% bupivacaine 1.6∼2.0 ml through a 25G Whitacre spinal needle. Group 1 received no extradural injection for 25min, but group 2 and 3 received extradural saline 10 ml and bupivacaine 10 ml 5min after the subarachnoid injection, respectively. Levels of sensory and motor block were assessed at 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, and 25 min after subarachnoid injection. Results : The median values of maximum sensory block level were T7 in all groups. Levels of sensory blockade and the time to onset of maximum sensory blockade were similar among the three groups There was no significant difference in the degree of motor block among three groups. Conclusions : This study suggests that extradural saline 10 ml or 0.5% bupivacaine 10 ml which injected 5min after subarachnoid injection does not significantly influence the level of subarachnoid block in lower extremity surgical patients. However, further study is required to declare the safety or optimal dose of extradural injection during CSE. (Korean J Anesthesiol 1997; 33: 686∼691)

        지속적 경막외마취하의 복식자궁절제술후 발생한 편측 하지 마비

        Continuous epidural analgesia has been used widely for treatment of acute abdominal postoperative pain. Neurologic complications related to epidural analgesia occur infrequently but may be caused by various chemical, mechanical, ischemic or idiopathic factors. We report a case of abdominal hysterectomy in which unilateral lower extremity paralysis occurred after continuous epidural analgesia.
