Both LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ samples were implanted with 350 keV H^+ and He^+ ions at different doses ranging from 1×10^(16) to of 5×10^(16) ions/㎠. Single and multi-energy implantations were performed at room temperature. Mono-mode or a few modes in both LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ waveguides were observed. The effect of temperature on the refractive index profiles of LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ waveguids was studied. The temperature covered from room temperature, 200℃, 194.5 K (dry ice) and 77K (liquid nitrogen). Different mechanisms are needed to interpret the observed behavior. A n_e increased mono-mode LiNbO₃ waveguide was formed by multi-energy keV He^+ ions.

A novel gene, designated mgt-6, containing four splicing variants, was isolated from a gene trap clone library of C3H/10T1/ 2 cells transfected with retroviral promoterless gene-trap vector, ROSAFARY. The transcript variants were differentially expressed in murine tissues and cell lines and differentially responded to diverse stimuli including TGF-β1 and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitors. The mgt-6 gene encoded a protein of 37 or 11 amino acid residuals with cytoplasmic distribution. However, when C3H/10T1/2 cells were treated with 5-azacytidine, the protein translocated into cell nucleus as indicated by fused LacZ or C-terminally tagged EGFP. Our preliminary results suggest that further study on the role of mgt-6 gene in cell transformation and differentiation may be of significance. [BMB reports 2010; 43(12): 789-794]
Depth Distributions of Bi+ Ions Implanted into Ni, Si and SiO₂, Films

Ni, Si and SiO₂ films were implanted by 350 keV Bi^+ ions at room temperature with fluences of 1×10^(16) and 2×10^(16) ions/㎤. The depth distributions of implanted Bi^+ ions in Ni, Si and SiO₂ films were by investigated by Rutherford backscattering. The results show that the depth distributions of implanted Bi^+ ions into Ni, Si and SiO₂ films have obeyed nearly Gaussian distributions. The maximum difference between experimental and calculated values is less than 18 % for mean projected range. Experimental range straggling deviated significantly from calculated value. The possible reasons are discussed.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a life-threatening disorder worldwide. Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) was shown to display a high level in the plasma of patients with AAA; however, its detailed functions underlying AAA pathogenesis are unclear. An in vitro AAA model was established in human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells (HASMCs) by angiotensin II (Ang-II) stimulation. Cell counting kit-8, wound healing, and Transwell assays were utilized for measuring cell proliferation and migration. RT-qPCR was used for detecting mRNA expression of FGF21 and activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4). Western blotting was utilized for assessing protein levels of FGF21, ATF4, and markers for the contractile phenotype of HASMCs. ChIP and luciferase reporter assays were implemented for identifying the binding relation between AFT4 and FGF21 promoters. FGF21 and ATF4 were both upregulated in Ang-II-treated HASMCs. Knocking down FGF21 attenuated Ang-IIinduced proliferation, migration, and phenotype switch of HASMCs. ATF4 activated FGF21 transcription by binding to its promoter. FGF21 overexpression reversed AFT4 silencing-mediated inhibition of cell proliferation, migration, and phenotype switch. ATF4 transcriptionally upregulates FGF21 to promote the proliferation, migration, and phenotype switch of Ang-II-treated HASMCs.

인공지능 클러스터 시뮬레이션 시스템은 애니메이션과 게임에서 이미 널리 사용되고 있다. 이 문서에서는 클러스터 애니메이션을 간략하게 소개하고 인공지능 클러스터 애니메이션의 기술 및 예술적 표현을 연구한다. 인공지능은 인간의 사고를 완전히 대체할 방법이 없다. 인공지능은 인간이 가진 주체의식을 갖추지 못하며, 그 높은 학습능력은 예술의 진정한 의미를 이해할 수 있다는 것을 증명하지 못하기 때문이다. 따라서 애니메이션의 발전에는 인공지능 클러스터 시뮬레이션 시스템의 기술이 필요하며 예술가의 창의적 사고도 필요하다. 기술과 예술의 결합만이 시대와 함께 발전하는 애니메이션 예술 작품을 만들 수 있다. Artificial intelligence cluster simulation system is currently widely applied in animation and games. This paper is going to give a brief introduction to cluster animation and demonstrate its technical development and potential inspiration for artists and audiences. Given that artificial intelligence does not have the subject consciousness as humans do, it fails to replace the mindset of human beings completely and its deep learning ability does not mean that it could comprehend the essence of art. Therefore, the development of animation demands not only the technology of artificial intelligence cluster simulation system but also the creative thinking of artists. In other works.

Salmonellosis is a highly contagious bacterial disease that threatens both human and poultry health. Tests that can detect Salmonella in the field are urgently required to facilitate disease control and for epidemiological investigations. Here, we combined loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) with a chromatographic lateral flow dipstick (LFD) to rapidly and accurately detect Salmonella. LAMP primers were designed to target the Salmonella invA gene. LAMP conditions were optimized by adjusting the ratio of inner to outer primers, MgSO<sub>4</sub> concentration, dNTP mix concentration, amplification temperature, and amplification time. We evaluated the specificity of our novel LAMP-LFD method using six Salmonella species and six related non-Salmonella strains. All six of the Salmonella strains, but none of the non-Salmonella strains, were amplified. LAMP-LFD was sensitive enough to detect concentrations of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Pullorum genomic DNA as low as 89 fg/μl, which is 1,000 times more sensitive than conventional PCR. When artificially contaminated feed samples were analyzed, LAMP-LFD was also more sensitive than PCR. Finally, LAMP-LFD gave no false positives across 350 chicken anal swabs. Therefore, our novel LAMP-LFD assay was highly sensitive, specific, convenient, and fast, making it a valuable tool for the early diagnosis and monitoring of Salmonella infection in chickens.

유목이란 농업 자원이 극도로 부족한 환경에 적응하기 위한 수단의 하나이지만, 자급자족할 수가 없기 때문에 다른 생계활동에 종사함으로써 생존에 필요한 물자를 얻는다. 흉노부락의 유목은 광대한 몽고초원에서 이루어졌다. 이곳에서의 유목 생계는 매우 비슷하였다. 초원에는 아무런 지리적 장애물이 없었기 때문에 만약 서로 약탈해서 자원부족을 해결하려고 한다면 피차 쓰러질 때까지 싸우는 수밖에 없었다. 따라서 초기 초원유목부족들은 집결해서 '국가’를 형성하고, 대내적으로는 초원을 분배하여 부락 간의 평화와 안정을 유지하였으며, 대외적으로는 경제 영역을 중국, 서역, 鳥桓, 丁令 등지까지 확장했다. 국가의 역량으로 무역노선을 보호하였고, 무력으로 정주 취락에게서 징세를 하였으며, 전쟁과 약탈을 통해 외부 자원을 얻었다. 西羌이 유목을 했던 곳은 河湟지역인데, 이곳의 환경은 몽고초원과 크게 다르다. 하황지구는 본래 유라시아 초원과 화북평원과 격리되어 있고, 그 내부는 높은 산과 계곡으로 작은 구역으로 분할되어 있다. 서강 부락은 대외적으로 먼 곳에서 생활 자원을 얻기 어려웠지만, 산과 계곡의 자원을 잘 이용해 생존에 크게 문제는 없었다. 이곳에서의 유목과 기타 자원은 산과 계곡에서 얻어야 했으므로 서로 약탈이 끊이지 않았다. 따라서 부락간의 정치적 결합이 어려웠다. 오환과 선비가 활동했던 西遼河지역과 대흥안령 남쪽 지역은 환경상 삼림에서 초원까지 다양하다. 삼림초원 지구에서 유목하였던 부족은 주변의 흉노와 화하 등 항상 다른 경제형태의 부족과 접촉하였는데 이 때문에 부락연맹을 결성하여 대내적으로는 부락간의 자원충돌을 줄이고 대외적으로는 무역과 약탈을 해나갔다. 오환과 선비는 서강에 비해 정치의 중앙화를 갖출 수 있었기 때문에 대외적으로 자원을 확장해 나가는 목표를 이룰 수 있었다. 진한시대부터 위진시대까지 약 500년간 화하제국의 자원 경계선 바깥에 놓여 있던 북방 유목민들은 각기 자발적으로 전문화된 유목 경제를 발전시켰으며 그에 맞추어 사회조직이 발전하였다. 그러나 華夏의 자원봉쇄 혹은 확장 시에 흉노는 국가로서, 오환과 선비는 부락연맹으로서, 서강은 부락 및 단기간의 부락연맹으로서 각각 화하제국과 대응하였다. 이후 청말까지 1500년간 세 종류의 화하 북방 경계지역의 상황은 계속 이어졌다.

In this study, CuS/SiO2 composite modified aerogel was prepared by the incorporation of hollow spherical CuS into methyltrimethoxysilane-based SiO2 sol and modification with hexadeca-fluorodecyltriethoxysilane via acid-base catalyzed sol–gel reaction and drying under ambient pressure. The CuS/SiO2 composite modified aerogel was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometry, scanning electron microscope (SEM), nitrogen gas adsorption and desorption and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The effects of CuS and fluorosilane concentration on density and porosity of aerogel, oleophobic and photocatalytic properties were evaluated. The results showed that structure and physical properties of aerogel had some effect by introducing CuS and fluorosilane, and the CuS/SiO2 composite modified aerogel with density of 0.146 g/cm3 and specific surface area of 241 m2/g achieved super-oleophobicity with oil contact angle of 152.8fl and sliding angle of 10fl, and good photocatalytic properties for methylene blue.
