      • Internal force monitoring design of long span bridges based on ultimate bearing capacity ratios of structural components

        In order to provide a novel strategy for long-span bridge health monitoring system design, this paper proposes a novel ultimate bearing capacity ratios based bridge internal force monitoring design method. The bridge ultimate bearing capacity analysis theories are briefly described. Then, based on the ultimate bearing capacity of the structural component, the component ultimate bearing capacity ratio, the uniformity of ultimate bearing capacity ratio, and the reference of component ultimate bearing capacity ratio are defined. Based on the defined indices, the high bearing components can then be found, and the internal force monitoring system can be designed. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the bridge health monitoring system design of the second highway bridge of Wuhu Yangtze river. Through the ultimate bearing capacity analysis of the bridge in eight load conditions, the high bearing components are found based on the proposed method. The bridge internal force monitoring system is then preliminary designed. The results show that the proposed method can provide quantitative criteria for sensors layout. The monitoring components based on the proposed method are consistent with the actual failure process of the bridge, and can reduce the monitoring of low bearing components. For the second highway bridge of Wuhu Yangtze river, only 59 components are designed to be monitored their internal forces. Therefore, the bridge internal force monitoring system based on the ultimate bearing capacity ratio can decrease the number of monitored components and the cost of the whole monitoring system.

        LncRNA Gm2044 highly expresses in spermatocyte and inhibits Utf1 translation by interacting with Utf1 mRNA

        Spermatogenesis is a process which includes the following phases: spermatogonial stem cell proliferation and differentiation, spermatogonia, spermatocyte, spermatid and mature sperm. Spermatogenic failure is the important factor resulting in male infertility. Recent studies showed that long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) have been found to be involved in the regulation of male reproduction. However, lncRNA associated with spermatogenesis and their mechanisms of action are unclear. The aim of this study is to explore the role and molecular mechanism of lncRNA in spermatogenesis. LncRNA microarray of germ cells and bioinformatic analysis showed lncRNA Gm2044 may play potential roles in spermatogenesis. The expression level of RNA and protein were analyzed by RT-qPCR and western blotting, respectively. The interaction of lncRNA with mRNA was detected by RNA pull down and cellular proliferation was measured using CCK-8 reagent. Testis-enriched lncRNA Gm2044 is abundant in mouse spermatocytes. Gm2044 can suppress the translation of adjacent spermatogenesisrelated gene Utf1 by interacting with Utf1 mRNA. Furthermore, the proliferation of mouse spermatogonia GC-1 cell line and spermatocyte GC-2 cell line was inhibited by Gm2044. CONCLUSION: LncRNA Gm2044 was identified to inhibit Utf1 mRNA translation and play important roles in spermatogenesis.

        영화 오프닝 타이틀 심상적 정체성의 유지 및 가변성 연구 - 〈미션 임파서블〉 시리즈 오프닝 타이틀을 중심으로

        문화 콘텐츠의 발전과 시장 수요의 급속한 발전에 따라 긴 타임라인에서 수많은 영화가 명확한 성격을 유지하지 못하거나, 단조롭고 지루한 영화 이미지로 인해 시리즈로 확장되는 과정에서 좌절을 겪고 있다. 따라서 어떠한 방식으로 시리즈 영화의 정체성을 유지하며 각 작품의 특징에 맞게 가변성을 추가하는지가 가장 핵심적인 문제로 떠오르게 되었다. 본 논문은 기호학 이론을 통한 영화의 주제를 포괄하는 내부 관점과 영화의 청각적 이미지를 전달하는 외부 관점의 두 부분으로 나누고, 시리즈 영화 〈미션 임파서블〉 1 ~ 6편의 작품에 대한 사례 분석을 통해 오프닝 타이틀 속의 표현 특징을 파악하여 심상적으로 영화 정체성을 유지하는 방법을 밝혀냈다. 분석한 결과는 시리즈 영화 오프닝 타이틀은 시청각적 디자인의 결과물로써 심상적 정체성의 유지하기에 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 판단했다. 첫째, 오프닝 타이틀에 표현된 기호는 시리즈 영화의 내부적 주제의 일관성 유지에 가장 큰 도움을 주었다. 둘째, 시리즈 내의 각 오프닝 타이틀 속 시청각 요소의 표현 방식은 심상적 정체성 유지를 위해 일관성 원칙을 따르면서도 재미있는 변화를 추구해야한다. 셋째, 영화의 심상적 정체성을 성공적으로 유지하는 열쇠는 시대 변화가 영화에 미치는 영향을 잘 따르는 것이다. With the rapid development of cultural content and market demand, many films struggle to maintain a clear identity over an extended timeline or face frustration in their expansion into series due to monotonous and dull visual imagery. Consequently, the central issue that arises is how to maintain the identity of a film series while introducing variability tailored to the characteristics of each installment. This paper divides the analysis into two parts: an internal perspective that encompasses the themes of the films through semiotic theory and an external perspective that conveys the visual imagery of the films. Through a case study analysis of the opening titles in the <Mission: Impossible> film series (Series 1-6), this paper reveals how the expressive features within the opening titles contribute to maintaining the imagery identity of the films. The results of the analysis suggest that opening titles in a film series play a crucial role in maintaining imagery identity as a product of visual design. Firstly, the symbols represented in the opening titles greatly assist in preserving internal thematic consistency within the film series. Secondly, the representation of visual elements in each opening title within the series should follow consistency principles while also pursuing engaging variations to maintain imagery identity. Lastly, the key to successfully preserving a films imagery identity lies in effectively adapting to the influence of societal changes on the films.

      • Prognostic Values of VEGF and Endostatin with Malignant Pleural Effusions in Patients with Lung Cancer

        Aims: Angiogenesis is important in malignant pleural effusion (MPE) formation and it is regulated by a number of pro- and anti-angiogenic cytokines. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of angiogenic factor vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiogenesis inhibitor endostatin in lung cancer patients with MPE, and investigate the relationship between these two kinds of agent. Methods: Using enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay, the concentrations of VEGF and endostatin were measured in pleural effusions (PE) and serum from a total of 70 lung cancer patients with MPE and 20 patients with tuberculosis. Results: Compared to patients with tuberculosis, the levels of VEGF and endostatin in both PE and serum were significantly higher in patients with lung cancer. There were statistically significant correlations between VEGF levels in PE and serum (r=0.696, p<0.001), endostatin levels in PE and serum (r=0.310, p=0.022), and VEGF and endostatin levels in PE (r=0.287, p=0.019). Cox multivariate analysis revealed that elevated pleural VEGF and endostatin levels and serum endostatin level were independent predictors of shorter overall survival. Conclusion: Both pro- and anti-angiogenic factors are likely contributors to PE formation. Our results suggest that the levels of VEGF and endostatin in PE, together with endostatin in serum, may be potential prognostic parameters for lung cancer patients with MPE.

        A real-time sorting algorithm for in-beam PET of heavy-ion cancer therapy device

        A real-time digital time-stamp sorting algorithm used in the In-Beam positron emission tomography (In-Beam PET) is presented. The algorithm is operated in the field programmable gate array (FPGA) and a small amount of registers, MUX and memory cells are used. It is developed for sorting the data of annihilation event from front-end circuits, so as to identify the coincidence events efficiently in a large amount of data. In the In-Beam PET, each annihilation event is detected by the detector array and digitized by the analog to digital converter (ADC) in Data Acquisition Unit (DAQU), with a resolution of 14 bits and sampling rate of 50 MS/s. Test and preliminary operation have been implemented, it can perform a sorting operation under the event count rate up to 1 MHz per channel, and support four channels in total, count rate up to 4 MHz. The performance of this algorithm has been verified by pulse generator and <sup>22</sup>Na radiation source, which can sort the events with chaotic order into chronological order completely. The application of this algorithm provides not only an efficient solution for selection of coincidence events, but also a design of electronic circuit with a small-scale structure.

        Calculation of Vibrational Relaxation Times in Multi-component Excitable Gases

        In the research field of acoustic propagation in excitable gases, one of the most critical parametersis the vibrational relaxation time, which determines the frequency of the acoustic dispersion stepor the absorption maximum. In this paper, the vibrational relaxation equations given by Tanczos[J. Chem. Phys. 25, 439 (1956)] have been applied to calculate the vibrational multi-relaxationtimes in multi-component gases. The eigenvalues of the energy-transition-rate matrix are provento be the reciprocals of the multi-relaxation times. Comparisons demonstrate that our relaxationfrequencies calculated for various gas compositions, including carbon dioxide, methane, chlorine,nitrogen, and oxygen, agree with the experimental data.

        Characteristics of Refractive Index Profiles at Different Temperatures in LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ Waveguide Formed by 350 keV Light Ions

        Both LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ samples were implanted with 350 keV H^+ and He^+ ions at different doses ranging from 1×10^(16) to of 5×10^(16) ions/㎠. Single and multi-energy implantations were performed at room temperature. Mono-mode or a few modes in both LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ waveguides were observed. The effect of temperature on the refractive index profiles of LiNbO₃ and KTiOPO₄ waveguids was studied. The temperature covered from room temperature, 200℃, 194.5 K (dry ice) and 77K (liquid nitrogen). Different mechanisms are needed to interpret the observed behavior. A n_e increased mono-mode LiNbO₃ waveguide was formed by multi-energy keV He^+ ions.

        Analysis of the bacterial communities of four predatory natural enemies collected from a Northern China Bt cotton field

        Predatory natural enemies are major insect species in cotton field ecosystems. Microbes that live inside these insects play essential roles in vital host activities, however, the microbiota of these insects have not been well characterized. In this study, we used Illumina 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing to investigate microbial diversity of the natural enemies Chrysoperla sinica, Harmonia axyridis, Propylaea japonica and Orius similis from a cotton field in northern China. The microbial diversity of C. sinica was low and its dominant bacterial community were Rickettsia (87.78%) and Wolbachia (6.29%). The microbial community of O. similis was more diverse than that of C. sinica. The microbial diversity of H. axyridis and P. japonica was higher, and they had similar dominant phyla, which included Firmicutes, Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes. Their common dominant bacterial community were Romboutsia, Escherichia-Shigella, Bacteroides, Terrisporobacter, Enterobacter, Lactobacillus, Fusobacterium, Actinobacillus, Sphaerochaeta, Bacteroidales_S24-7_group and Cyanobacteria. This study also forms the basis for further study on the microbiota of natural enemies from different habitats.

        Orthogonal Analysis and Optimization of a K4-Rating Auto-Lifting Anti-Ram Bollard System

        The anti-ram bollard system (ABS) is installed around the perimeter of buildings and infrastructures to prevent the penetration of unauthorized vehicles and reduce the blast and debris caused by the vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED). Comparing with the fixed anti-ram bollard system (FABS), the auto-lifting anti-ram bollard system (AABS) has the advantage to be set down automatically to allow authorized vehicles passing on. In this paper, a configuration of K4-rating AABS is proposed and a finite-element model is developed to simulate its performance. Differences between vehicle model and real vehicle, effects of boundary conditions are both taken into account. The effectiveness and accuracy of the numerical simulation are validated through predicting the results of relevant experiments. Based on the verified numerical model, 32 groups of numerical experiments of K4-rating AABS are investigated using an orthogonal array L32 (48 ×81). The order and significant levels of nine affecting factors are identified on the basis of the range analysis and variance analysis, respectively. It shows that gaps between substructure and outer sleeve, wall thickness of substructure, wall thickness of steel tube, diameter of steel tube and thickness of stiffening ribs have significant influences on the behavior of AABS. The optimal design is proposed according to the orthogonal analysis.
