A Proposal for a Personal Branding Support Service in Social Media Times
Kawano, Yoshihiro,Obu, Yuka World Association for Triple Helix and Future Stra 2013 Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia Vol.12 No.2
Social media such as Twitter and Facebook have become popular. In the age of social media, many people have become more active online. For example, about half of all global active Internet users are on Facebook (Perry 2012). Personal branding is a very important strategy to build on an individual's strengths, and this kind of branding is expected to contribute to self-actualization. Therefore, the presence of mentors who advise users to discover their own strong points for self-actualization is necessary. In this paper, we propose a personal branding support service, Mentors, which connects mentors and mentees. The core concept is: "Everyone has the face of both a mentor and mentee." The key function is sharing stages of self-analysis in human life design: Determining value, creating a mission, and forming a strategy. From this function, a good match between a mentor and mentee can be found. The program aims to improve human life by understanding the client's strengths and using social media effectively. Future work includes launching Mentors and evaluating its service.

Objective: To identify key factors for predicting positive cone margin and appropriate conelength. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the margin status of patients who received conizationwith high grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, along with other factors such as patientage, parity, preoperative cytology, size of disease, type of transformation zone, and conelength from patient records. Cut-off value of cone length was analyzed in women youngerthan 40 years old because we design conization with minimum length especially forwomen who wish for future pregnancy. Cut-off value of cone length was defined as lengthcorresponds to estimated probability of positive cone margin equal to 0.1 by logisticregression analysis with variables selected by stepwise methods. Results: Among 300 patients, 75 patients had positive cone margin. Multivariable analysisrevealed that squamous cell carcinoma at preoperative cytology (p=0.001), 2 or morequadrant disease (p=0.011), and shorter cone length (p<0.001) were risk factors for positivecone margin. Stepwise methods identified cone length and size of lesion as importantvariables. With this condition, cut-off value of cone length was estimated as 15 mm in singlequadrant disease and 20 mm in 2 or more quadrant disease, respectively. Conclusion: We identified the independent risk factors of positive cone margin and identifiedthe cut-off value of cone length to avoid positive cone margin in women younger than 40years old. Conization should be performed not only according to colposcopic findingsincluding type of transformation zone but size of disease and cone length.

Tin(II) sulfide (SnS) films are one of the most promising absorber materials for high efficiency solar cells without using rare metals. In this work, SnS films were deposited by the thermal evaporation on glass substrates under the variation of growth temperatures of 100-250 ℃. It was revealed that the SnS thin film prepared under the temperature of 100 ℃ had relatively small crystal grains. On the other hand, the denser and larger crystal grains of the SnS films were obtained with the constant compositions, when the growth temperature increased to 225 ℃. With the temperature of higher than 225 ℃, the SnS began to be re-evaporated from the films. The highest Hall mobility of the films was obtained under the temperature of 200 ℃. Ultimately, the results suggested that the optimized growth temperature of SnS by the evaporation is 200 ℃, giving rise to compact and large crystal grains and the highest Hall mobility, thereby contributing to the 2.53%-efficient SnS thin-film solar cell.
Applications of the Hauser-Feshbach Theory to Advanced Nuclear Sciences
T. Kawano,P. Talou,M. B. Chadwick,S. Holloway,P. Moller,T. Watanabe 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.59 No.23
Unique applications of the Hauser-Feshbach (HF) statistical theory in the nuclear science field, as well as the HF model code development at LANL are discussed. Our applied field in which HF is applicable is not necessarily limited to the particle-induced reactions. We combine the HF model with a theory of β-decay to calculate the β-delayed neutron and γ-ray emissions. These calculations can be performed for each β-decay precursor to estimate aggregate neutron and γ-ray energy release at fission. Another relatively new example at LANL is the ability to compute HF predictions with a Monte Carlo technique (MCHF), which gives all the correlated information.
A Safe Surgical Procedure for Old Distractive Flexion Injuries of the Subaxial Cervical Spine
Osamu Kawano,Takeshi Maeda,Eiji Mori,Itaru Yugue,Takayoshi Ueta,Keiichiro Shiba 대한척추외과학회 2017 Asian Spine Journal Vol.11 No.6
Study Design: Retrospective review. Purpose: To describe a safe and effective surgical procedure for old distractive flexion (DF) injuries of the subaxial cervical spine. Overview of Literature: Surgical treatment is required in old cases when a progression of the kyphotic deformity and/or persistent neck pain and/or the appearance of new neurological symptoms are observed. Since surgical treatment is more complicated and dangerous in old cases than in acute distractive-flexion cases, the indications for surgery and the selection of the surgical procedure must be carefully conducted. Methods: To identify a safe and effective surgical procedure, the procedure selected, reason(s) for its selection, and associated neurological complications were investigated in 13 patients with old cervical DF injuries. Results: No neurological complications were observed in nine patients (DF stage 2 or 3) who underwent the anterior-posterior-anterior (A-P-A) method and two patients (DF stage 1) who underwent the posterior method. It was initially planned that two patients (DF stage 2) who underwent the P-A method would be treated using the Posterior method alone; however, anterior discectomy was added to the procedure after the development of a severe spinal cord disorder. Conclusions: The A-P-A method (anterior discectomy, posterior release and/or partial facetectomy, reduction and instrumentation, anterior bone grafting) is considered to be a suitable surgical procedure for old cervical DF injuries.
