      • Effects of alkaline earth elements as sintering additives for SiC

        알칼리 토금속 원소가 Al 기반 소결 첨가제보다 중성자 조사조건에서 더 안정하기 때문에 원자력 분야 적용을 탄화규소 소결조제로서의 알칼리 토금속 원소에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 일성분계 (Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba) 및 이성분계 (Mg-Ca, Mg-Sr, Mg-Ba) 알칼리 토금속과 알칼리 토금속 - 희토류 복합 첨가제를 이용하여 β-탄화규소의 소결 경향을 조사하였으며, 균일한 소결조제의 분포를 위하여 질산염을 용해하여 첨가하였다. 본 연구는 Gibbs 자유에너지를 이용한 열역학적 시뮬레이션과, 이를 실험적으로 증명하는 2개의 범주로 나눌 수 있다. 열역학적 계산을 바탕으로 예측된 바와 같이, 모든 알칼리 토금속과 희토류 원소들은 고온의 소결조건에서 탄화규소를 분해하지 않고, 산화물로 상전이가 일어났다. 또한, 1700°C 미만의 온도에서 탄화규소 입자 표면에 존재하는 SiO2와 반응하여 액상을 형성하였으며, 이처럼 생성된 액상은 소결조제로 작용하였다. 1성분 또는 2성분 알칼리 토금속 소결조제는 탄화규소를 분해하지 않았지만, 최고 밀도가 77%로 나타나 원자력 분야에 적용하기에는 낮은 밀도를 보여주었다. 결과적으로 알칼리 토금속을 단독으로 소결조제로 사용할 경우에는 탄화규소 소결조제로서 효율적이지 않다는 결론에 도달하였다. 하지만, 알칼리 토금속과 희토류 원소의 조합을 소결조제로 사용할 경우에는 생성된 액상의 균일한 분포로 인하여 95% 이상으로 탄화규소의 밀도를 증가시켰다. 특히 Sc-nitrate가 첨가된 경우에는 98% 이상의 밀도와 27.5 GPa 의 경도를 보여주었으며, 이는 β-SiC에서 α-SiC로의 상변화가 억제되었기 때문으로 판단된다. 특히, Mg-Sc 이원계 시스템은 젖음성 실험결과 상대적으로 낮은 젖음각도를 보여주어 효율적인 소결조제로 작용할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 결론적으로 기존의 중성자 조사분위기에서 불안정한 Al-기반 소결조제를 대체할 수 있는 알칼리 토금속과 희토류 원소의 조합을 새로운 탄화규소 소결조제로 제안하였다. Intensive research has been conducted to check the feasibility of alkaline-earth elements as the sintering additive for SiC for nuclear applications because alkaline-earth elements are more stable than Al-based sintering additives. One component (Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba) and binary (Mg-Ca, Mg-Sr, Mg-Ba) alkaline earth systems, and alkaline-rare earth additive systems were examined as sintering additives using their nitrate form for the densification of β-SiC. This work can be divided into 2 categories, such as the determination of Gibbs formation free energies by thermodynamic approach at a typical sintering temperature as well as the verification of simulation by experimental observations. As expected by thermodynamic calculation, all nitrates transformed to corresponding oxide during sintering at 1750°C without decomposing SiC. The additives formed eutectic liquid by the reaction with SiO2 on SiC particles at temperatures below 1700°C, which acted as liquid phase sintering additives. Although one component and binary systems of alkaline earth additive systems did not decompose to SiC, density was not sufficient for nuclear applications, showing the highest density of 77%. Therefore, it can be concluded that alkaline earth systems when used alone are ineffective sintering additives for SiC. On the other hand, a novel alkaline earth - rare earth combination enhanced the density to > 95% due to the homogenous distribution of the liquid phase, which could replace the conventional Al-based additives. In particular, Sc-nitrate additive resulted in the density greater than 98% and hardness of 27.5 GPa showing fine uniaxial grain morphology as a result of lowest β- to α-SiC transformation. Furthermore, the wettability tests revealed that the Mg-Sc additive system had a good wettability on SiC, resulting in a relatively higher density.

      • Simulations of monasticism : the temple stay program and the re-branding of Korean Buddhist temples

        The introduction of the temple stay program in 2002 has brought with it fascinating changes in the functions and images of Korean Buddhist temples. Some of the temples, which were originally built in order to provide the serene accommodation that is necessary for the practice of monks, have transformed into purposely-branded tourist camps. They have actively begun to organize and administer hybrid workshops, which offer a variety of "authentic" traditional experiences, which were designed specifically for tourists. The objective of this thesis is not only to examine the uniqueness of this new temple program in historical as well as global perspectives, but also to investigate the distinctive ways in which it is branded. It will discuss the fascinating process in which the Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Chogye order of Korean Buddhism jointly re-brand and package this unique program as a prominent tourist attraction for twenty-first century Korea. It will argue that temple life is re-invented, re-organized and marketed according to the expectations, imaginations and needs of the various costumers, both foreign and local tourists, thus offering a customized imitation of Buddhist monks' lives. But that is not all. By allowing the temple stay schedule to be modeled on tourist images of monastic life, the program is actually transforming temples into simulations of themselves, producing an imagined simulacrum of Buddhist monasticism, in which temples run the risk of actually becoming temple stays

      • 소비자 접촉욕구에 따른 인스타그램 증강현실 기반 가상 피팅 페이스 필터가 소비자의 구매의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 심상과 심리적 소유권의 매개변수 효과 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the AR based try-on face filter on Instagram on a consumers’ purchase intention with a particular focus on the role of consumer’s need for touch. With the rise of using social media platforms, Instagram has become a popular platforms for brands to engage with consumers and promote their products. The integration of augmented reality technology into Instagram story face filters allows Instagram users to virtually try on products, providing a sensory and interactive experience with touchable screen before making purchase. An experiment using the manipulation of touchable face filter and non-touchable face filter was conducted with 185 participants aged between 20 to 39-year-old. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical analysis, this research examines how AR based try on face filters on Instagram influences consumer purchase intention, specifically moderated by their need for touch. The study also explores the role of mediations such as mental imagery and perceived psychological ownership towards purchasing products through touchable face filters. The findings highlight that mental imagery and perceived psychological ownership mediated the relationship between AR based try on face filters and consumer’s purchase intention. In addition, the moderating effect of the need for touch was highest when consumers had a high or average level of need for touch in relation to the face filter and mental imagery when using touchable face filters. Furthermore, using the SPSS PROCESS macro, we found that when consumers had a high or average level of need for touch, indirect effect of AR based try on filters on consumer’s purchase intention through mental imagery and perceived psychological ownership is moderated by need for touch. This research have practical implications for marketers and brand utilizing AR based virtual try on face filters on Instagram. By leveraging the sensory and interactive aspects of these filters, brands can create more engaging and immersive shopping experience, satisfying consumer’s need for touch, and ultimately influencing their purchase intention.
