      • Inquiring Prescriptions Using Geographic Information System (GIS)

Osman, Asim Seedahmed Ali,Kalil, Eman Galaleldin Ahmed International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2021 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.21 No.12

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is considered to be one of the most important technologies provided by the Internet in our era. GIS enables institutions and individuals to plan and make decisions in many fields. GIS assists in accessing new and updated information on planning process. GIS also enables determining distances such as length, width, area on a map, and allows analyzing and processing a large amount of data for the search of geographical characteristics of locations. This paper explains the concept of dispensing prescription through the specific code of drug on an electronic system using GIS technology. The proposed methodology aims to inform patients of all the prescriptions dispensed and to help individuals inquiring about prescription at the nearest pharmacy through GIS technology. This proposed methodology is considered significant in some cases, as the patient does not know price, specifications and pharmacy location where the drug required is available, thus increasing the time and effort cost that is spent searching for the prescription.

      • Structural monitoring and identification of civil infrastructure in the United States

        Nagarajaiah, Satish,Erazo, Kalil Techno-Press 2016 Structural monitoring and maintenance Vol.3 No.1

Monitoring the performance and estimating the remaining useful life of aging civil infrastructure in the United States has been identified as a major objective in the civil engineering community. Structural health monitoring has emerged as a central tool to fulfill this objective. This paper presents a review of the major structural monitoring programs that have been recently implemented in the United States, focusing on the integrity and performance assessment of large-scale structural systems. Applications where response data from a monitoring program have been used to detect and correct structural deficiencies are highlighted. These applications include (but are not limited to): i) Post-earthquake damage assessment of buildings and bridges; ii) Monitoring of cables vibration in cable-stayed bridges; iii) Evaluation of the effectiveness of technologies for retrofit and seismic protection, such as base isolation systems; and iv) Structural damage assessment of bridges after impact loads resulting from ship collisions. These and many other applications show that a structural health monitoring program is a powerful tool for structural damage and condition assessment, that can be used as part of a comprehensive decision-making process about possible actions that can be undertaken in a large-scale civil infrastructure system after potentially damaging events.

      • Designing a Remote Electronic Irrigation and Soil Fertility Managing System Using Mobile and Soil Moisture Measuring Sensor

Asim Seedahmed Ali, Osman,Eman Galaleldin Ahmed, Kalil International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.12

Electronic measuring devices have an important role in agricultural projects and in various fields. Electronic measuring devices play a vital role in controlling and saving soil information. They are designed to measure the temperature, acidity and moisture of the soil. In this paper, a new methodology to manage irrigation and soil fertility using an electronic system is proposed. This is designed to operate the electronic irrigation and adds inorganic fertilizers automatically. This paper also explains the concept of remote management and control of agricultural projects using electronic soil measurement devices. The proposed methodology is aimed at managing the electronic irrigation process, reading the moisture percentage, elements of soil and controlling the addition of inorganic fertilizers. The system also helps in sending alert messages to the user when an error occurs in measuring the percentage of soil moisture specified for crop and a warning message when change happens to the fertility of soil as many workers find difficulty in daily checking of soil and operating agricultural machines such as irrigation machine and soil fertilizing machine, especially in large projects.

        Andréia Mitidieri,Maria Beatriz Gurian,Ana Paula Silva,Kalil Tawasha,Omero Poli-Neto,Antônio Nogueira,Francisco Reis,Júlio Rosa-e-Silva 대한약침학회 2015 Journal of pharmacopuncture Vol.18 No.4

Objectives: This study used semiology based on traditionalChinese medicine (TCM) to investigate vital energy(Qi) behavior in women with abdominal myofascialpain syndrome (AMPS). Methods: Fifty women diagnosed with chronic pelvicpain (CPP) secondary to AMPS were evaluated by usinga questionnaire based on the theories of “yin-yang,”“zang-fu”, and “five elements”. We assessed the followingaspects of the illness: symptomatology; specific locationof myofascial trigger points (MTrPs); onset, cause, durationand frequency of symptoms; and patient and familyhistory. The patients tongues, lips, skin colors, and tonesof speech were examined. Patients were questioned onvarious aspects related to breathing, sweating, sleepquality, emotions, and preferences related to color, food, flavors, and weather or seasons. Thirst, gastrointestinaldysfunction, excreta (feces and urine), menstrual cycle, the five senses, and characteristic pain symptoms relatedto headache, musculoskeletal pain, abdomen, andchest were also investigated. Results: Patients were between 22 and 56 years old,and most were married (78%), possessed a elementaryschool (66%), and had one or two children (76%). Themean body mass index and body fat were 26.86 kg/cm2(range: 17.7 — 39.0) and 32.4% (range: 10.7 — 45.7), respectively. A large majority of women (96%) exhibitedalterations in the kidney meridian, and 98% hadan altered gallbladder meridian. We observed majorchanges in the kidney and the gallbladder Qi meridiansin 76% and 62% of patients, respectively. Five of thetwelve meridians analyzed exhibited Qi patterns similarto pelvic innervation Qi and meridians, indicatingthat the paths of some of these meridians were directlyrelated to innervation of the pelvic floor and abdominalregion. Conclusion: The women in this study showed changesin the behavior of the energy meridians, and the pathsof some of the meridians were directly related to innervationof the pelvic floor and abdominal region.

Enhanced photo-Fenton assisted photocatalytic degradation of atenolol using a novel rGO embedded double Z-scheme nano-heterojunction: Mechanism, kinetics and toxicity studies

        M. Raaja Rajeshwari,Asad Syed,Ali H. Bahkali,Abdallah M. Elgorban,M. Kalil Rahiman,Rajender S. Varma,S. Sudheer Khan 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.115 No.-

In this work, rGO-based ternary dual Z-scheme heterojunction (rGO/CuFe2O4/CdS/Bi2S3 QDs) was formulatedfor the effective photo-Fenton assisted photocatalytic degradation of a b-blocker, atenolol. The catalystwas synthesised via a simple co-precipitation/hydrothermal method and was characterized usingXRD, XPS, FT-IR, SEM, TEM, PL, EIS, ESR, Raman and DRS. It exhibited about 76.5% degradation of atenololin 360 min under visible light irradiation with a rate constant of 0.004 min1 wherein the mechanism ofenhanced activity was attributed to the formation of OH, h+ and photo-Fenton reaction; a possible mechanismwas drafted. The intermediates were determined using GC–MS analysis delineating a plausibledegradation pathway, the mineralization of atenolol being confirmed by TOC analysis. The catalyst wasreusable and highly stable up to six cycles of degradation, as affirmed via XRD and XPS analysis. Further, the toxicity of the catalyst has been studied using the root cells of Allium cepa, and the degradedproduct and intermediates were assessed deploying ECOSAR software. Thus, the proposed work haspotential which can be implemented in future for the large-scale purification of wastewater.

HLA-C*17, DQB1*03:01, DQA1*01:03 and DQA1*05:05 Alleles Associated to Bullous Pemphigoid in Brazilian Population

( Azis Arruda Chagury ),( Luiz Ubirajara Sennes ),( Julio Miranda Gil ),( Jorge Kalil ),( Helcio Rodrigues ),( Claudia B. Rosales ),( Ivan Dieb Miziara ) 대한피부과학회 2018 Annals of Dermatology Vol.30 No.1

Background: Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is an autoimmune disease with bullous vesicles and an incidence of 0.2 to 1.4 per 100,000 inhabitants. Many studies have been published demonstrating the association of pemphigoid with HLA class II system alleles in different populations, however there are no data on the BP, one of the most heterogeneous in the world. Objective: To typify HLA alleles in Brazilians with Bullous pemphigoid. Methods: The study group included 17 Brazilian patients with a confirmed diagnosis of BP from a hospital in Sao Paulo city, southeast Brazil. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood using Qiagen kits and HLA A, B, C, DR and DQ typing was performed using polymerase chain reaction. The control group was composed of a database of 297 deceased donors from the city of Sao Paulo. The statistical significance level was adjusted using the Bonferroni correction depending on the phenotypic frequencies evaluated for HLA class I (A, B and C) and class II (DRB1, DQB1 and DQA1). Results: Our findings show that alleles HLA C*17, DQB1*03:01, DQA1*01:03 and DQA1*05:05 are associated with the onset of the disease in the Brazilian pop- lation, with relative risks of 8.31 (2.46 to 28.16), 3.76 (1.81 to 7.79), 3.57 (1.53 to 8.33), and 4.02 (1.87 to 8.64), respectively (p<0.005). Conclusion: Our data indicate that Brazilian patients with BP present the same genetic predisposition linked to HLA-DQB1*03:01 previously reported in Caucasian and Iranian individuals and our study introduces three new alleles (C*17, DQA1*01:03 and DQA1*05:05) involved in the pathophysiology of BP.
