      • 대장균 Superoxide dismutase에 대한 Paraquat의 호기적 활성저해

강주화,류옥림 효성여자대학교 가정대학 학도호국단 1986 家政大論集 Vol.5 No.-

Turbidometric growth of the Escherisia Coli was drastically inhibited in the presenceof 0.3M paraauat and their growth did not recovered within four hours of test. By the treatment the cells showed only a 30percent of survival when they were coltivated with shaking while they showed 60percent of survival with stationary cultivation. On contrast to it, the oxygen solubilized in the cultural medium was almost same as 30 to 35ppm in the both of shaking and stationary cultural syotem, Activity of superoxidedismutase of the shaking cultured cells was 52.0to 52.9percent against that of control,While activity of the enzyme in stationary cultured cells was 86.2 to 82.7percent.

블레이크의 가부장제 비판 : Focusing on The Book of Thel and Visions of Daughters of Albion 『텔 이야기』와『엘비언 딸들의 이상』를 중심으로

강옥선 신한영미어문학회 1999 새한영어영문학 Vol.41 No.-

This paper is to examine Blake's critique of patriarchy by analyzing woman-centered poems, specifically The Book of Thel and Visions of Daughters of Albion. Classic feminist literature often focuses on maternal type, one of the traditional roles limiting women's freedom in the patriarchal society. Blake's woman, Thel in The Book of Thel attempts to escape conventional feminine roles, particularly by rejecting the maternal role, in order to creat her own identify. Likewise, Oothoon's protestant voices in Visions of Daughters of Albion, redefine femininity by pronouncing her as an independent being. Blake was interested in the patriarchal relationship between man and woman in the late eighteenth century. Blake's women call the legitimacy of patriarchy into question by pursuing their own sense of self-worth. Throughout his life Blake objected to man's repression of woman's freedom. Blake's poetic strategy, including the image of garment, and nakedness, is excellent in the above poems. Blake hates in women what Oothoon calls "hypocrite modesty"(VDA 6:16), because it limits women's erotic potential. Oothoon's nudity is an index of the way she defines her relationship with regard to her potential identity in Visions of Daughters of Albion. Blake's women seem to reflect Wollstonecraft's revolutionary ideas for female education in A Vindication of the Rights of Women. Wollstonecraft protests the stereotypical idea which supports the maternal, sacrificial, role as a feminine blessing. Accordingly, Blake's women become Wollstonecraft's independent ones, exclaiming against the patriarchal ideology as an oppressive curb to mutual delight. Blake can be viewed as a prophet, for by examining women's freedom and identity in the late eighteenth century, he helped forge a new viewpoint for examining all women and their roles in any society. I believe that this feministic approach based on Blake's critique of patriarchal ideology may open a door to a wealth of riches for future Blake's studies.

        8~9세기 신라사회와 일반민의 동향

        강옥엽 이화사학연구소 2003 梨花史學硏究 Vol.0 No.30

In the eighth and ninth centuries after Shilla's unification of the Three Kingdoms, Shilla was facing with the various change of the steady economic development through the active foreign trade. On the other hand, the historical records, in 939 when Shilla closed her millenium's history and the Koryo Dynasty took over her history, were regarded as important ones in Korean history. Thus, this thesis was to find the features of the Shilla's political community by the changing international community and to examine the condition and status of the common people of Shilla through the features. In addition, this thesis was to analyze how the common people in the Shilla's community responded to the national and international complicated circumstances, and how the respondence appeared in the change of their consciousness. Through this analysis, it was found that the foreign exchange activated at that time affected the living conditions of the common people, and as the result appeared as a regulation of the prohibition order in the ninth year of King Meungduk's reign. The regulation of an order from the king showed that they had the social comfort enough to mix with the fashion of the day. Their lives were not different from those of the nobility at that time, even though their lives were separated from the political activities, considering the color of their clothes, the use and ornament of their individual carriage, their vessel in their house, and the size of their house. In addition, the common people were attracted from the thriving feature of Kyeong-ju which was affected from Chang-an (the capital of China), and they were impressed by the heterogeneous culture from the countries bordering on Western China. This fact is confirmed from the relics which were excavated from Anapjii (a reservoir), Muinsang (a warrior's statue) from Qaereung (a gave), and Hointoyong (a human figure) from Hwangsung-dong(a district). But these aspects of Shilla's culture depended on the political situation according to its ups and downs at that time. Therefore, the exclusive policy from the royal family and the inordinate regulation against the common people made us recognize the contemporary society as a luxurious and lavish one. This atmosphere resulted in the prohibition order in the ninth year of King Heungduk's reign. The development of the nation followed by the increase of the foreign trade was made to dwindle with expulsion of Jangbogo (Shilla's admiral) by the Shilla's government. Furthermore, the discriminatory policy of the royal government brought into the loss of the popular feeling and the dissolution of the Shilla's community. The common people had been interested in the international political situations, facing with the unusual culture through the foreign trade, and preferring the foreign products. Especially, this trends were influenced [affected] by the activities of Jangbogo's fleet of vessels on the coast. Even though there was a disparity in social standing among them, it gave impetus to the elevation of their own standard of living. On the other hand, although the uprising of the peasants during the reign of Queen Jinduk was seemingly caused by drought of the land and the demand for tan in Shilla, it was actually developed by the improvement of the public feelings by the foreign trade, as a result, this fact led them to the separation of political society and to the new society of Koryo.

        노예제 담론과 여성의 글쓰기

        강옥선,김봉광,이상우,홍옥숙 새한영어영문학회 2006 새한영어영문학 Vol.48 No.4

This study aims at examining the anti-slavery discourse written by the early 19th-century women writers. Based on their own moral sensibility and Christian belief of non-Anglican Church, these early romantic women writers strongly advocated abolitionism and were involved in anti- slavery activities, such as writing pamphlets and joining anti-slavery groups. However, their writings have been ignored for a long time, overpowered by 'major' male writers of Romanticism. Thus this study tries to shed light on these women writers and discuss their importance in the literary history. The study will discuss why the anti-slavery discourse was an important issue among the women writers. In the late 18th century, women were beginning to recognize their inferior social status and naturally identified themselves with the slaves. The French Revolution which emphasized equality of humankind had strong impact on them. Mary Wollstonecraft and Helen Maria Williams experienced the Revolution in France and put their experiences into the writing advocating the rights of women and the socially weak people. Based on their religious belief, Hannah More and Ann Yearsley wrote poems attacking the slave trade. Their naive attitude toward Christianity, which tacitly approved slavery in spite of its belief in the equality of human beings, may be problematic. Their poems are significant, however, as an official beginning of antislavery discourse by women. Women poets' attack upon the slavery and advocation of the oppressed is further developed by poets such as Anna Barbauld, Helen Maria Williams and Amelia Opie. On the other hand, Harriet Martineau wrote an anti-slavery novel "Demerara." As a popular pamphlet writer of the time, Martineau was influential in the antislavery movement of the United States. "Demerara," written as a part of John Stuart Mill's Illustrations of Political Economy contains a scientific and systematic criticism of slavery. "Demerara"puts the colonized West Indies into the foreground of the novel and enlists the reasons the slavery should be abolished. In addition to the touching story of the hardships of a slave family, she analyzes the disadvantages of slavery in terms of political economy. Romantic women writers' anti-slavery writing ranging from poems to novel contains a distinctive voice different from that of male writers. Recognizing their social status inferior to men's, these women writers sought to correct the discrimination against them. Their concern about the socially oppressed people can be understood in this context. Though silenced as a radical voice and ignored as minor writers for a long time, women writers of the 19th century should be reilluminated from the postcolonial viewpoint. They provide valuable assets to Romanticism as a newly found voice resisting the social ills and upholding the silent others in society.
