Neutron-Induced Activation Cross Sections on Hafnium Isotopes from the Threshold to 20 MeV

        V. Semkova,N. Janeva,N. Koyumdjieva,R. Jaime Tornin,A. Moens,A. J. M. Plompen,K. Volev 한국물리학회 2011 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.59 No.23

Results of new cross section measurements are presented for the following neutron-induced reactions: ^(178)Hf(n,α)^(175)Yb, ^(180)Hf(n,α)^(177)Yb, ^(177)Hf(n,p)^(177)Lu^g, ^(178)Hf(n,x)^(177)Lu^g, ^(180)Hf(n,p)^(180)Lu, ^(180)Hf(n,n'α)^(180)Hf^m, ^(174)Hf(n,2n) ^(173)Hf, ^(176)Hf(n,2n)^(175)Hf, and ^(177)Hf(n,3n)^(175)Hf obtained with the activation technique. The irradiations were carried out at the 7-MV Van de Graaff accelerator at IRMM, Geel. Quasi monoenergetic neutrons with energies between 14.8 and 20.5 MeV were produced via the ^3H(d,n)^4He reaction at E_d = 1, 1.4, 2, 3, and 4 MeV. The ^3H(p,n)^3He reaction was employed for the production of neutrons in the 2 - 3 MeV energy range. Both natural and enriched samples were used to facilitate correction for interference between reactions leading to the same product. The radioactivity of the samples was determined by standard γ-ray spectrometry using HPGe detector. The current measurements are compared with the data from other authors and Evaluated Nuclear Data Files. Cross sections for three of the studied reactions are reported for the first time.

Enhancing Performance of Dual-Gate FinFET with High-K Gate Dielectric Materials in 5 nm Technology: A Simulation Study

        M. V. Ganeswara Rao,N. Ramanjaneyulu,Balamurali Pydi,Umamaheshwar Soma,K. Rajesh Babu,Satti Harichandra Prasad 한국전기전자재료학회 2023 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.24 No.6

The rapid advancement in nanoscale devices demands innovative gate dielectric materials to replace traditional Silicon dioxide. This paper investigates the electrical behavior and performance of a dual-gate FinFET employing different high-K gate dielectric materials (Silicon dioxide, Hafnium oxide, Titanium oxide) through ATLAS 2D simulation in 5 nm technology. We analyze how these high-K gate dielectric materials influence the device, focusing on performance enhancement. The study highlights various key performance parameters (ION, IOFF, gm, gds, RON, TF, EV, V IL, V IH, NML, NMH) and reveals a significant performance improvement with HfO2 dielectric material in the proposed Dual-Gate FinFET. Achieving impressive performance parameters ( ION : 21.59 mA, IOFF : 21 µA, Maximum net Electric field: 1221290 V/cm, g m(max) : 0.05187 S, gds(max) : 0.03462 S, RON(max) : 25.93 kΩ , TFmax: 5.02, G ainmax : 90.233, EVmax : 67.532 V, V IL : 0.21 V, V IH : 0.4 V, NML : 198 V, NMH : 600 V), this paper provides valuable insights for designing high-performance devices with HfO2 dielectric material.

Measurement of the higher-order anisotropic flow coefficients for identified hadrons in Au + Au collisions atsNN=200GeV

        Adare, A.,Afanasiev, S.,Aidala, C.,Ajitanand, N. N.,Akiba, Y.,Al-Bataineh, H.,Alexander, J.,Aoki, K.,Aramaki, Y.,Atomssa, E. T.,Averbeck, R.,Awes, T. C.,Azmoun, B.,Babintsev, V.,Bai, M.,Baksay, G.,Bak American Physical Society 2016 Physical Review C Vol.93 No.5

<P>Measurements of the anisotropic flow coefficients v(2){Psi(2)}, v(3){Psi(3)}, v(4){Psi(4)}, and v(4){Psi(2)} for identified particles (pi(+/-), K-+/-, and p + (p) over bar) at midrapidity, obtained relative to the event planes Psi(m) at forward rapidities in Au + Au collisions at root s(NN) = 200 GeV, are presented as a function of collision centrality and particle transverse momenta p(T). The v(n) coefficients show characteristic patterns consistent with hydrodynamical expansion of the matter produced in the collisions. For each harmonic n, a modified valence quark-number N-q scaling [plotting v(n){Psi(m)}/(N-q)(n/2) versus transverse kinetic energies (KET)/N-q] is observed to yield a single curve for all the measured particle species for a broad range of KET. A simultaneous blast-wave model fit to the observed v(n){Psi(m)}(p(T)) coefficients and published particle spectra identifies radial flow anisotropies rho(n){Psi(m)} and spatial eccentricities s(n){Psi(m)} at freeze-out. These are generally smaller than the initial-state participant-plane geometric eccentricities epsilon(n){Psi(PP)(m)} as also observed in the final eccentricity from quantum interferometry measurements with respect to the event plane.</P>

Flexible thermoelectric module based on zinc oxide thin film grown via SILAR

        Klochko N.P.,Klepikova K.S.,Khrypunova I.V.,Zhadan D.O.,Petrushenko S.I.,Kopach V.R.,Dukarov S.V.,Sukhov V.M.,Kirichenko M.V.,Khrypunova A.L. 한국물리학회 2021 Current Applied Physics Vol.21 No.-

In this work, we used the low temperature solution growth Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) for a deposition of the nanostructured undoped and indium doped (ZnO and ZnO:In) thin films on flexible polyimide (PI) substrates for their use as cheap non-toxic thermoelectric materials in the flexible thermoelectric modules of planar type to power up portable and wearable electronics and miniature devices. The use of a zincate solution in the SILAR method allows to obtain ZnO:In film, which after post-growth annealing at 300 ◦C has low resistivity ρ ≈ 0.02 Ω m, and high Seebeck coefficient 147 μV/K and thermoelectric power factor ~1 μW K 2 m 1 at near-room temperatures. As evidence of the operability of the manufactured films as the basis of the TE device, we have designed and tested experimental lightweight thin-film thermoelectric module. This TE module is able to produce specific output power 0.8 μW/m2 at ΔT = 50 K.

      • Genome-wide transcriptome analysis of expression in rice seedling roots in response to supplemental nitrogen

        Chandran, A.K.N.,Priatama, R.A.,Kumar, V.,Xuan, Y.,Je, B.I.,Kim, C.M.,Jung, K.H.,Han, C.d. G. Fischer 2016 Journal of plant physiology Vol.200 No.-

<P>Nitrogen (N) is the most important macronutrient for plant growth and grain yields. For rice crops, nitrate and ammonium are the major N sources. To explore the genomic responses to ammonium supplements in rice roots, we used 17-day-old seedlings grown in the absence of external N that were then exposed to 0.5 mM (NH4)(2)SO4 for 3 h. Transcriptomic profiles were examined by microarray experiments. In all, 634 genes were up-regulated at least two-fold by the N-supplement when compared with expression in roots from untreated control plants. Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis revealed that those upregulated genes are associated with 23 GO terms. Among them, metabolic processes for diverse amino acids (i.e., aspartate, threonine, tryptophan, glutamine, L-phenylalanine, and thiamin) as well as nitrogen compounds are highly over-represented, demonstrating that our selected genes are suitable for studying the N-response in roots. This enrichment analysis also indicated that nitrogen is closely linked to diverse transporter activities by primary metabolites, including proteins (amino acids), lipids, and carbohydrates, and is associated with carbohydrate catabolism and cell wall organization. Integration of results from omics analysis of metabolic pathways and transcriptome data using the MapMan tool suggested that the TCA cycle and pathway for mitochondrial electron transport are co-regulated when rice roots are exposed to ammonium. We also investigated the expression of N-responsive marker genes by performing a comparative analysis with root samples from plants grown under different NH4+ treatments. The diverse responses to such treatment provide useful insight into the global changes related to the shift from an N-deficiency to an enhanced N-supply in rice, a model crop plant. Measurements of directed, elliptic, and triangular flow in Cu + Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV

        Adare, A.,Aidala, C.,Ajitanand, N. N.,Akiba, Y.,Akimoto, R.,Alexander, J.,Alfred, M.,Aoki, K.,Apadula, N.,Asano, H.,Atomssa, E. T.,Awes, T. C.,Azmoun, B.,Babintsev, V.,Bai, M.,Bai, X.,Bandara, N. S.,B American Physical Society 2016 Physical Review C Vol.94 No.5

<P>Measurements of anisotropic flow Fourier coefficients (upsilon(n)) for inclusive charged particles and identified hadrons pi(+/-), K-+/-, p, and (p) over bar produced at midrapidity in Cu + Au collisions at root s(NN) = 200 GeV are presented. The data were collected in 2012 by the PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC). The particle azimuthal distributions with respect to different-order symmetry planes psi(n), for n = 1, 2, and 3 are studied as a function of transverse momentum p(T) over a broad range of collision centralities. Mass ordering, as expected from hydrodynamic flow, is observed for all three harmonics. The charged-particle results are compared with hydrodynamical and transport model calculations. We also compare these Cu + Au results with those in Cu + Cu and Au + Au collisions at the same root s(NN) and find that the upsilon(2) and upsilon(3), as a function of transverse momentum, follow a common scaling with 1/(epsilon N-n(part)1/3).</P>

      • Microstructure and piezoelectric properties of (Na0.5K0.5)NbO3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics with V2O5 addition

        Seo, I.-T.,Park, H.-Y.,Dung, N.V.,Choi, M.-K.,Nahm, S.,Lee, H.-G.,Choi, B.-H. IEEE 2009 and Frequency Control Vol.56 No.11

<P>Various amounts of Nb2O5 in the (Na0.5K0.5) NbO3 (NKN) ceramic were replaced by V2O5 to decrease its sintering temperature to below 950°C. A small V2O5 content resulted in a dense microstructure with an increased grain size for the specimen sintered at 900°C due to the presence of a liquid phase. When V2O5 was added to the NKN ceramics, their orthorhombic-to-tetragonal transition temperature increased from 178°C to around 200°C. However, their Curie temperature decreased from 402°C to around 330°C. The kp, ε3 T/ε0, and Qm values increased with V2O5 addition, probably due to the increased density and poling state, which was identified by the phase angle. The specimen with x = 0.05, sintered at 900°C for 8 h, exhibited the following piezoelectric properties: kp = 0.32, ε3 T/ε0 = 245, d33 = 120 (pC/N), and Qm = 232.</P>

      • Matricide and Creativity: The Case of Two Hungarian Cousin-Writers from the Perspective of Contemporary Psychobiography

Zoltán Kőváry 대한사고개발학회 2013 The International Journal of Creativity & Problem Vol.23 No.1

In the history of human sciences we find a special type of creator who is somehow trapped between the worlds of the arts and the sciences. This condition leads to special ways of self-actualization, like in the cases of Plato, Leonardo, Nietzsche or Freud. In the history of Hungarian human sciences and modern arts one of the most exciting representatives of the “Renaissance man” was Géza Csáth (original name József Brenner), a talented psychiatrist trying to use psychoanalysis for the first time in treating paranoid schizophrenia, and also a triple artist (writer, musician and painter) best known for his short stories. While living the life of a “doppelgänger” and doing a “wild analysis” with his psychotic patient, he became a morphine addict and, at the age of 32, murdered his wife and committed suicide. I use here the method of “multiple case psychobiography” to compare the life and works of Csáth with those of his cousine and friend Dezső Kosztolányi, one of the most outstanding writers of the time in Hungary. By analysing their personalities, their choices in life and characteristics for short stories about matricide we can take a look at the personal roots of their creativity and the goals and discontents of being such a complex personality as Géza Csáth certainly was.

Influence of structural transition on the electronic structures and physical properties of the Ni2MnGa alloy films

        K. W. Kim,J. Y. Rhee,N. N. Lee,Y. P. Lee,Y. V. Kudryavtsev 한국물리학회 2004 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.44 No.32

Ordered and disordered Ni2MnGa alloy lms were prepared by ash evaporation onto substrates maintained at 720 K and 150 K, respectively. The results show that the ordered lms behave in nearly the same way as the bulk Ni2MnGa ferromagnetic shape-memory alloy, including the martensitic transformation at 200 K, while the disordered lms exhibit characteristics of amorphous alloys. It was also found that the disordering in Ni2MnGa alloy lms did not change to any appreciable magnetic ordering down to 4 K. Annealing of the disordered lms restores the ordered structure with an almost full recovery of the magnetic, magneto-optical and transport properties of the ordered Ni2MnGa alloy lms. It was also understood, for the rst time, how the structural ordering in the lms in uences the physical properties, including the surprising loss of ferromagnetism in the disordered lms, as a result of performing electronic-structure calculations.

        ( N. Mal Reddy ),( H. K. Basavaraja ),( N. Suresh Kumar ),( P. G. Joge ),( G. V. Kalpana ),( S. B. Dandin ),( R. K. Datta ) 한국잠사학회 2007 International Journal of Industrial Entomology Vol.8 No.2

The breeding work was initiated by utilizing two Japanese hybrids namely C135×N134 and N137×C146 along with two evolved Indian breeds, J14 and A24. The breed CSR16 which is characterized with marked larvae and white dumbbell cocoons was evolved from the Japanese hybrid C135×N134 by crossing with J14, while the breed CSR17 which is characterized with plain larvae and white oval cocoons was evolved from the Japanese hybrid N137×C146 by crossing with A24. The hybrid of these evolved breeds i.e., CSR16×CSR17 has shown superior over control hybrid KA×NB4D2 and on par with the ruling hybrid of CSR2×CSR4. The hybrid CSR16×CSR17 was authorized during 1999 by Central Silk Board, Bangalore, Government of India for commercial exploitation during favourable months based on national level race authorization test.
