Differences in composition of on‐year, off‐year and new leaves in Phyllostachys pubescens (moso bamboo) forests will affect the resistance of Pantana phyllostachysae larvae and the parasitic ability of Beauveria bassiana. Pantana phyllostachysae fed on mixed leaves of on‐year, off‐year and new bamboo leaves. The activities of acetylcholine esterase (AChE) and glutathione S‐transferase (GSTs) in P. phyllostachysae larvae fed on mixed leaves were significantly higher, greatly reducing the pathogenicity of B. bassiana to P. phyllostachysae larvae compared with the treatments of off‐year and new bamboo leaves. The phenoloxidase (PO) activity in P. phyllostachysae larvae feeding on mixed leaves varied within three days after parasitization by B. bassiana, which indicated higher and less changeable PO activity compared with treatments of off‐year and new bamboo leaves. Inclusion of new leaves differed greatly due to its growth, in which, both AChE and GSTs activities were higher than the off‐year leaf treatment, leading to a lower pathogenicity of B. bassiana to P. phyllostachysae larvae feeding on new leaves compared with off‐year leaves. On the contrary, the pathogenicity of B. bassiana to P. phyllostachysae larvae feeding on on‐year leaves was lower than other treatments. AChE and GSTs activities in P. phyllostachysae larvae were lower and PO activity was less changeable, which might be related to the disadvantage of the larval surface structure to B. bassiana infection in the on‐year leaf treatment.

This paper aims to identify the priorities of the factors for determining the competitiveness of the Airport Economic Zone. To evaluate the relative importance of the factors, the AHP(analytical hierarchy process) based on expert surveys is used. The four decision factors that make up the Airport Economic Zone competitiveness analysis model were set to ‘Factor conditions’, ‘Demand conditions’, ‘The related and supportive companies’, ‘Management strategies and competition systems’. 'Human·Physical resources' and 'Logistics·Transportation infrastructure' were selected as sub-components of the ‘Factor conditions’, and 'Business demand' and 'Tourism·Logistics demand' were selected as sub-components of the ‘Demand conditions’. 'Core Industry Development Level' and 'Support facility status' were selected as sub-components of ‘The related and supportive companies’, and 'Management strategies' and 'Competitiveness in the hinterland' were selected as sub-components of ‘Management strategies and competition systems’. The competitiveness analysis model derived from this study is applicable to other Airport Economic Zones. Therefore, it is believed that implementing a comparative analysis with other Airport Economic Zone based on the analysis model presented in this study could lead to additional implications for the competitive determinants of the Airport Economic Zone.

Nanotechnology is a rapidly growing field and numerous products containing engineered nanomaterials are already in the market. With the increasing use of engineered nanomaterials, it is expected to increase the exposures to nanomaterials in the workplace. However, the researches on the exposure assessment of nanomaterials to humans and the environment are just a beginning step, as the nanotechnology industries are expanding. Questionnaire surveys conducted by various organizations reveal that many nanotechnology companies are searching for information on exposure measurement for the protection of workers who handle nanomaterials. We analyze the trends of researches on the occupational exposure measurement of engineered nanomaterials and investigate the methodologies of exposure assessment recommended by the related working groups. This work is expected to fill the gaps in knowledge on the exposure assessment of nanomaterials.

Silver nanoplates (AgNPs) were used as a colorimetric indicator of pH-induced conformational changes in the protein, cytochorme c (cyt c). Cyt c was covalently bound to the surface of AgNPs, and UV-vis spectroscopy was used to identify changes in the optical properties of the resulting cyt c-AgNP conjugates in colloidal solution over pH, with values ranging from 3.1 to 10.6. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results indicated that the morphological changes in cyt c-AgNP conjugates were dependent on pH. Moreover, pH-induced conformational changes in cyt c could be detected by visual inspection of the color changes in cyt c-AgNPs, which occurred as a result of the coupling effect of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) by aggregated AgNPs.

We experimentally demonstrate that a bulk-structured Bi2Te3 topological insulator (TI) film deposited on a side-polished fiber can act as an effective Q-switch for a 1.89-mu m laser. Our bulk-structured Bi2Te3 TI film with a thickness of similar to 31 mu m, was prepared using a mechanical exfoliation method, and the fabricated film was transferred onto a side-polished SNI2000 fiber to form a fiberized saturable absorber based on evanescent field interaction. By incorporating the saturable absorber into a thulium (Tm)-holmium (Ho) co-doped fiber-based ring cavity, it is shown that Q-switched pulses with a minimum temporal width of similar to 1.71 mu s can readily be produced at a vvavelength of 1.89 mu m. The output pulse repetition rate was tunable from similar to 11.54 nJ at a pump power of 250 mW. The output performance of our laser is completed to that of the depending on the pump power. The maximum output pulse energy was,--111.54 nJ at a pump power of 250 The output performance of our laser is compared to that of the 1.98- mu m Q-switched fiber laser based on a nanosheet-based Bi2Te3 TI demonstrated previously by Luo et al.
