        시장의 장소성과 노점상에 관한 연구

        Cheonggyecheon(stream) restoration project in 2003-2004 caused numerous social and physical changes in the inner city of Seoul. One of the drastic changes was the improvement of the physical condition of Hwanghak-dong market. This triggered the mobilization of Hwanghak-dong market's street-vendors, as they were moved to Dongdaemun stadium. The municipal government and the street-vendors have made a new flea market in that old sports stadium. This study intends to trace the structural change of Hwanghak-dong market and to find the street-vendors' efforts of making place identity of their new flea market in Dongdaemun stadium. Hwanghak-dong market was, at first, a spontaneously generated local convenience market dealing with vegetables, fruits, and oil until the end of Japanese colonial times. However, the new wholesale market, Seongdong market, of grains and vegetables was installed near Hwanghak-dong market and antique dealers, junk shop dealers and street-vendors crowded into Hwanghak-dong market. Thanks to these changes, Hwanghak-dong market had the nickname, a ‘bric-a-brac market' or a ‘general secondhand article market' until 1960's. In the late 1960's, there were big changes - covering up Cheonggyecheon (stream) and building an elevated highway - near the market. Because of this change, the place identity of Hwanghak-dong market was slowly changed to that of an antique market. 1970-80's saw Hwanghak-dong market's concretized image as a antique market or a ‘demon' market. Late 1990's onward, most of the antique shops moved to Janganpyeong market and the remnants were mainly normal secondary article shops. So people said “Except foods and people, there aren't any brand new things in this market”. Street-vendors also swarmed this market and they became the symbol of the market. However, in 2003, there was an announcement of the restoration of Cheonggyecheon(stream) and accordingly the municipal government promoted the migration of street-vendors to the un-used Dongdaemun stadium. Conflicts between the shoppers and street-vendors in Hwanghak-dong market came up to the surface at this point. The shoppers tried to reconstruct their prosperity by getting rid of street-vendors. However, the street-vendors didn't want to move to Dongdaemun stadium and tried to consolidate the relationship between the shoppers and street-vendors and reinforce the market value as most famous market of secondhand items. Anyway, most of the street-vendors moved to the stadium. After the migration, street-vendors have intended to make new place image of the stadium as brand new ‘flea market' by arranging vendors' shops more innovatively in the stadium. They have installed semi-permanent facilities, for example, electric powers, watering and sewage, and ceiling tent, and these facilities enable them to be more hygienic and weatherproof. By adding a hygiene and an order to their physical environment, the street-vendors try to establish new place identity - variety in items and exotic experiences.

        노인들의 생활체육 참여 욕구에 대한 노인체육지도자 역할모형 구축

        This study has the purpose of providing a differentiated program accommodating the participational desire of physical activities in elderlies, and effective teaching methods, member management, improvement of drawbacks of teachers, expert teacher distribution, and additionally, the basic data for the smooth performance of the role as a teacher and measure for the initiation of physical activities in elderlies, by constructing a role template of teachers based on the participational desire of physical activities in elderlies. To achieve this purpose, the opinions of an elderly physical activity expert (university `elderly physical activity` department professor, researcher in its laboratory, administrative management employee, and site leader) on participational desire of elderlies in physical activities (reliance on teacher, HSP value, intention of continued participation, intention of conversion) was collected. 35 aspects based on the role of the teacher was acquired through similar delphi analyses, with the ultimate extraction of 27 aspects passing through an editing process of synthesis and separations. Further collection of subjective opinions have been executed from physical activity teachers, comparing with prior perceptions in which common positive opinions were seen, resulting in a more practical analysis of the role of an elderly physical activity teacher, leading to the construction of its template, giving the following conclusions. Firstly, the elderly physical activity teacher must induce motivation within the participating elderly. Secondly, the planning and preparation of classes must be thoroughly conducted. Thirdly, the teacher must induce recognition of the effect of exercise by the participating elderly. Fourthly, a sense of professionalism must be attained. Lastly, the teacher must induce recognition of the necessity of exercise by the participating elderly. Further concurrence of the role of the teacher included systematic process, providing of various information, understanding of the elderly, composition of class atmosphere, program development/distribution, maintenance of friendliness, responsibility, personalized teaching, goal proposal, providing of opportunities, and grasp of individual nature. On the other hand, an insufficient awareness of the role of a teacher was seen relating to member management.

        A Statistical Analysis of Postoperative Deaths in the Hospital

        Introduction: Anesthesia deaths are rare, while deaths due to surgical or other risk factors are more frequent. The goal of this analysis is to evaluate risk factors associated with postoperative mortality. METHODS: We have analyzed 34,200 surgical patients between 1990 and 1996 through records of anesthesia. The following informations were recorded; age of patients, physical status, site of operation, time of death, primary cause of death. RESULTS: The results are as follows; 1) Of 34,200 surgical patients, 119 died in the hospital. 2) The postoperative mortality rose progressively with age and was highest above 70 years. 3) Within 48 hours, the mortality was 36.1% of total deaths, declined progressively thereafter. The patients who had head operations exceeded 45% of deaths during this period. Eight days after the operation the mortality rate was 34.2% of total deaths and the patients who had an elective operation of the abdomen were 60.8%. 4) 34.2% patients of the total deaths had brain damages. Of these, 79.5% showed physical status V and had an emergency head operation and 47.5% were 50~60 years of age. 17.5% and 13.2% of deaths were due to sepsis and respiratory insufficiency and 48.6% of these two categories were physical status II, III and had an elective operation and 55.5% were above 60 years. CONCLUSION: The postoperative mortality was highest in the patients who had an emergency head operation and primary cause of death was brain damage. The patients of above 60 years, had a physical status II, III, had an elective abdominal operation were succeptable to sepsis and respiratory insufficieny.

        In Vitro Assessment of the Cytotoxicity of Cuticle Remover Cosmetics

        목적: 네일 케어에서 사용되는 큐티클 리무버 화장품에 대한 안전성 평가는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 시판되고 있는 네일 전문 화 장품 중 샵에서 가장 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 3개의 큐티클 리무버를 선정하여 세포독성에 대한 화장품 안전성을 평가하고자 하 였다. 방법: 큐티클 리무버 화장품의 유해성평가는 피부관련 배양세포뿐 아니라 조갑기질세포를 이용하여 세포독성을 평가하였다. 따라서 인체 조갑기질 일부를 조갑 수술을 통해 채취하여 조갑기질세포를 배양하였다. 배양된 조갑기질세포, 인체피부섬유아세포, 인체각질형성세포에 큐티클 리무버 화장품을 농도별 (0.5 μg/mL, 1.0 μg/mL, 1.75 μg/mL, 2.5 μg/mL, 10 μg/mL, 20 μg/mL, 25 μg/mL)로 희석하여 MTT assay를 수행하였다. 결과: 조갑기질세포, 인체피부섬유아세포, 인체각질형성세포에 큐티클 리무버 화 장품을 농도별로 처치하였을 때 세포 생존율이 농도의존적으로 나타났다. Blue cross와 Zero cleanser 10 μg/mL 농도에서 조갑기 질세포와 인체피부섬유아세포, 인체각질형성세포가 거의 사멸하였다. Flower vita 제품은 조갑기질세포, 인체각질형성세포, 인체 피부섬유아세포 모두 0.5-20 μg/mL 농도까지 70% 이상으로 나타나, 가장 높은 세포 생존율을 보였다. 결론: 결과적으로 Flower vita 제품이 조갑기질세포, HS68, HaCaT 세포 모두 세포독성이 가장 낮아 선정된 세 개의 제품 중 세포독성에 대한 안전성이 가장 우수함을 확인하였다. 또한 조갑기질세포의 배양을 통한 세포독성 측정법은 조갑의 손상을 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 유용한 방법 일 것으로 사료된다. Purpose: Information regarding the hazards of cuticle removers is scarce, and product safety reports are also insufficient. This study aimed to assess the safety of cuticle remover cosmetics. Methods: This study evaluated the safety of the top three commercially sold cuticle removers, Blue cross, Zero cleanser, and Flower vita, which are all widely used in nail care. Human nail matrix cells were isolated and cultured in a defined medium. The toxic effect of cuticle removers on the cultured human nail matrix cells, HS68, and HaCaT, were identified via MTT-assay. The cuticle remover cosmetics were diluted to the following concentrations: 0.5, 1.0, 1.75, 2.5, 10, 20, and 25 μg/mL. Results: All three cuticle removers showed significant cytotoxicity to the human nail matrix, HS68, and HaCaT cells in a dose-dependent manner. The viability of cells treated with 10 μg/mL of Blue Cross and Zero cleanser was below 10%. Conversely, Flower Vita treatment at concentrations of 0.5-20 μg/ mL did not affect the viability (above 70%) of the nail matrix cells, HS68, and HaCaT. Conclusions: Among the cuticle removers tested, Flower Vita showed the lowest cytotoxic effect in the nail matrix, HS68, and HaCaT cells, proving its safety. This study supports that nail matrix cells are developing as an evaluation method for nail damage.

        This study observes 「Yuelun」 of Xun zi and Lushichunqiu and explored the significance they have on infant music education. Research regarding infant music education is mostly focused on actual contents so there is not a lot of philosophical observation into it. As 「Yuelun」 of Xun zi and Lushichunqiu deal with the independent side of music, they allow the observation of Eastern musical theory and studying this has significance. At this, the significance of infant music education found in 「Yuelun」 of Xun zi and Lushichunqiu is as follows. Infant music education must be enjoyable and it must be done in harmony with nature as its base. Also, infant music education must allow participants to mix together and it must be conducted with good music. Like this, observations of two pieces of literature which offer various ideas about music broaden the philosophical prospects of music as they offer many implications for infant music education.

        Most surveillance systems of urban transit are based on CCTV(Closed Circuit Television). However, there is limitation that the passive monitoring system using CCTV in urban transit surveillance system to monitor massive environment applies thousands of cameras and it depends on operator's instinctive judgement whether it happens an accident or disaster. Urban transit operation corporations try to introduce the intelligent technology to overcome these problems as mentioned above. The intelligent system can be organized various ways and made configuration for purpose and function. In this paper, we describe the configuration problems of the existing surveillance system and propose the proper intelligent system configuration for urban transit. We expect that the proposed configurations are very helpful to introduce the intelligent technology for urban transit surveillance system.

        Fish Myogenic Regulatory Protein LUC7L: Characterization and Expression Analysis in Korean Rose Bitterling (Rhodeus uyekii)

        Serine-arginine-rich nuclear protein LUC7L plays an important role in the regulation of myogenesis in mice. In the present study, we isolated and characterized the Korean rose bitterling Rhodeus uyekii Luc7l cDNA, designated RuLuc7l. The RuLuc7l cDNA is 1,688 bp long and encodes a 364-amino-acid polypeptide containing serine/arginine-rich region at the C-terminus. The deduced RuLuc7l protein has high amino acid identity (71-97%) with those of other species including human. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that RuLUC7L clustered with fish LUC7L proteins. The expression of RuLuc7l mRNA was high in the brain, kidney, and stomach of Korean rose bitterling. Expression of the RuLuc7l mRNA was detected from 1 day post-fertilization (dpf) and moderately increased until 21 dpf during the early development. Further investigations are required to elucidate the functional role of RuLUC7L in myogenesis in R. uyekii.
