Research on instIuction 따e centered on understanding and improving the process of instIuction that informs designers on how to develop effective, efficient, and atσactive instnIction. InstnIctional activities for the disabilities require more attention than for normal students. Major issues in designing instnIction for educating the disabilities should be focused on how to process information to existing cognitive structures and how to provide processing aids in comprehension and problem solving within the limit of cognitive load. Discussion was made on the definition of the different types of memory storage, the processing limitations, encoding and reσieval information of short-term memory and long-term memory. Early information processing models focused on the concept of storage, the transfer of information among storages and limitations of channel capacity. The model describes how information is encoded, retained and retrieved in memory. According to the model, human memory is sustained over time and consists of two stages, encoding and reσieval. Application of the research results on the cognitive information processing and representation of the knowledge were presented. In addition, several issues of cognitive information processing for computer programs for the disabilities are discussed. Issues discussed are feedback, learning style, learner control, simulation, multimedia, and motivation
Microwave Hyperthermic Lipolysis Using External RF Antenna
Joosung Hwang,Tae-Hee Woo,Sangbok Park,Changyul Cheon 대한전기학회 2012 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.7 No.5
In this paper, we propose a microwave hyperthermic lipolysis method to reduce subcutaneous fat without skin burn using external RF antenna. Since skin is closer to the antenna and has higher conductivity compared to the fat beneath, the temperature of the skin rises higher than that of the fat when the external antenna illuminates EM energy into a body, which may cause skin burn. In order to avoid the damages on skin, a skin cooling system is employed to the external antenna. The operating frequency is set at 5.8 GHz which is one of the ISM bands, to concentrate EM power efficiently on fat and not to heat up the muscle behind the fat. The operation time and RF power level has been determined based on experimental results with pork. The feasibility of the proposed method was shown by applying the method to the rat.
A marginal payoff symmetric solution and its applications to a land corn production economy
Joosung Lee 한국계량경제학회 2008 한국계량경제학회 학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.-
We introduce axioms related to marginal payoff symmetry that reflects the possibility of mutual agreement, and characterized a new solution with efficiency, symmetry, additivity, and scale dummy; scale dummy is related to the externality of scale. In this paper, we mainly apply the solution to a land corn production economy. For the economy with a linear production function, it leads to a sustainable economy, while alternatives such as the Shapley value fail the property. Assuming a concave production function, interestingly, the solution can explain a paradox, that is, already employed workers block additional employment if the wage is high at a certain level, even though the landlord wants to increase the scale. Thus, we can find a unique employment point, which is agreeable among all the already participating agents.

The complex roles of flagella in the pathogenesis of Campylobacter jejuni, a major cause of worldwide foodborne diarrheal disease, are important. Compared with the wild-type, an insertional mutation of the flgA gene (cj0769c) demonstrated significant decrease in the biofilm formation of C. jejuni NCTC11168 on major food contact surfaces, such as polystyrene, stainless steel, and borosilicate glass. The flgA mutant was completely devoid of flagella and non-motile whereas the wild-type displayed the full-length flagella and motility. In addition, the biofilm formation of the wild-type was inversely dependent on the viscosity of the media. These results support that flagellar-mediated motility plays a significant role in the biofilm formation of C. jejuni NCTC11168. Moreover, our adhesion assay suggests that it plays an important role during biofilm maturation after initial attachment. Furthermore, C. jejuni NCTC11168 wild-type formed biofilm with a net-like structure of extracellular fiber-like material, but such a structure was significantly reduced in the biofilm of the flgA mutant. It supports that the extracellular fiber-like material may play a significant role in the biofilm formation of C. jejuni. This study demonstrated that flgA is essential for flagellar biosynthesis and motility, and plays a significant role in the biofilm formation of C. jejuni NCTC11168.

Societal concerns associated with aviation industry’s carbon-intensive nature and impending peak oil has become more pronounced over the last decade. With a potential to address both of these issues, the use of biofuels in aviation stands as the most promising pathway towards achieving sustainable air transport system. Significant progress continues to be made in overcoming technological and economic challenges of using 2nd generation biofuels in air transport industry. However, a truly sustainable and effective market deployment of aviation biofuels requires an extensive collaboration between feedstock providers, biofuel producers, governments, airlines, and the public. Thus, we deploy a multi-level perspective (MLP) framework to analyze these interactions on a micro- (niches), meso- (regime), and macro- (landscape) level. In particular, the framework captures the significance of international nature of air transport industry and the inter-industry dependencies of biofuel supply-chain. The results of this study highlight the barriers, drivers, and strategies for advancing social acceptance and establishment of sustainable aviation biofuel market.
MEASURING THE FISCAL BURDEN OF FINACIAL RESTRUCTURING
JOOSUNG JUN AND JINWOO HWANG 한국재정학회(구 한국재정·공공경제학회) 2001 공공경제 Vol.6 No.2
THIS PAPER PRESEINTS ESTIMATES OF THE ACTUAL FISCAL ASSOCIATED WITH FINANCIAL SECTOR RESTRUCTURING IN KOREA, CALCULATED ON AN ANNUAL CASH-FLOW BASIS. THE FISCAL COSTS OF FINANCIAL RESTRUCTURING PRIMARILY CONSIST OF THE ANNUAL INTERST PAYMENTS ON THE NET DEBT AND THE REALIZED LOSSES FROM THE SALE OF COLLATERAL, SHARES, AND ASSETS OF RESTRUCTURED FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS. ACCORDING TO OUR RESULTS, THE TOTAL FISCAL COSTS OF RESOLVING THE NON-PERFORMING ASSETS, WHICH SHOULD BE REFLECTED IN THE BUDGET OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS, MAY REACH SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 79 TRILLION WON AND 110 TRILLION WON, WHICH AMOUNT TO 15.4% AND 21.4% OF THE CURRENT GDP. FISCAL COSTS OF THOSE MAGNITUDES ADVERSELY AFFECT THE FISCAL BALANCE AND THE DEBT POSITION. WHILE THE GOVERNMENT DEBT IN KOREA IS LIKELY TO BE SUSTAINABLE AS LONG AS HIGH TO MODERATE ECONOMIC GROWTH CONTINUES, GREATER RESTRUCTURING FUND LOSSES AND AN ECONOMIC SLOWDOWN COULD WORSEN SUSTAINABILITY.
