In the present study, we investigated possible mechanism for the triggered global CaH wave from local Ca2+ wave in atrial myocytes under shear stress. Shear stress was applied onto single cells isolated from rat atria and two-dimensional confocal Ca2+ imaging was performed to measure Ca2+ signal. Shear stress of 16 dyn/cm2 induced local Ca2+ wave, which was followed by a rapid transverse global Ca2+ wave inhibition of Na + -ci+ exchange using KB-R7943 suppressed the occurrence of rapid transverse wave ob served under shear stress, but not the shear-induced local wave. in the presence of this chemical local wave was developed to global wave under shear stress which results in slower time to peak of peripheral and central CaH transients. As the preceding local Ca"+ wave signal was higher, the latency of the occurrence of transverse global wave was shorter, suggesting Ca2+ dependence of transverse Ca2+ wave. The results sug-gest that shear stress may activate Na+ -Ca2+ exchange via local CaZ+ wave, triggering the rapid global Ca2+ wave
스마트 안테나에서 블라인드 기법을 이용한 Two Dimensional RAKE 수신기

Smart antennas technique is the scheme that focuses the signal on the desired user using array antennas. Therefore, the scheme can dramatically improve performances in conventional mobile communication systems. The scheme is the newest technique for beamforming. Its specific function combines antenna arrays with digital signal processing techniques that can control signal direction. Now, the scheme is known as the future generation core technique in communication provider communities. In this paper, we propose two dimensional rake receiver based on blind schemes in smart antennas and then compare the performance of the proposed scheme with that of the conventional scheme. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional scheme.

Due to the advances in the computer network and communication technology, computers are populaurizing in every sector in our society and these computers are connected by networks such as the Internet. Although this environment facilitates people to share information and resources, it also provides hacker with posibility to steal valuable information and damage computer systems and networks belonging to other people. To remedy this problem, we develop many tools which capture network packets and analyze and/store them, but the problem with these tools is that it is difficult to add or change their functionality and connect them to other security tools, In this paper we explain a general purpose packet capturing tool which not only captures and analyzes/blocks packets. but can be connected to other security tools easily. We explain the architecture and the packet filtering specification language for this tool.

Background and objectives : A disparity between clinical and urodynamic findings is commonly found and its application to the clinical management of neurogenic bladder is pratically as well embrassing as it reading. We investigated urodynamic study for the diagnosis and management of neurogenic bladder. Materials and methods : From July 1997 to June 2001, total of 83 patients of neurogenic bladder were evaluated by urodynamic study. Results : urodynamically, there were 20 cases(24%) showing detrusor hyperreflexia with detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia(DESD), 12 cases(15%) detrusor areflexia with low compliance. A disparity between the clinical and urodynamic assessment was noted in 26 cases(31%), clinically severe symptom with complication was particularily common in detrusor hyperreflexia with DESD, detrusor areflexia with low compliance and catheter indwelling patients. Conclusion : In neurogenic bladder, clinically symptom with complication was particularly common in detrusor hyperreflexia with DESD, detrusor areflexia with low compliance and catheter indwelling patients.
전립선대비증 평가에서 이행대 용적지수와 증상점수 및 요류속도와의 상관관계

Purpose : otal prostate volume has been known to be poorly correlated with other parameters used to assess benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH), including international prostatic symptom score(IPSS), peak flow rate(Qmax). This study was aimed to investigate the possible correlation between transition zone index(TZI), IPSS and Qmax in patients with clinical benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH). Materials and methods : From September 1999 to December 2000, A total of 95patients with clinical BPH were evaluated total prostate volume(TV), transition zone volume(TZV), TZI, IPSS and Qmax. TZI was determined as the ratio between transition zone volume(TZV) and total prostate volume(TV). Results : The relationships between IPSS and TV, TZV, and TZI were not statistically significant. A statistically significant relationship was observed between TZV, TZI and Qmax and between TV, TZV, TZI and age. Conclusion : These results suggest that TZV, TZI may not be a useful method to assess symptom severity in BPH patients but may be limited clinical parameters.
TiO₂(Rutile)-H₂O 현탁용액의 유동성질에 미치는 농도 및 온도효과

TiO₂- water 현탁계의 유동성질을 계의 농도와 온도의 변화에 따라 Couette 형회전 점도계를 이용하여 측정하였으며 Ree-Eyring flow equation으로부터 유도된 dilatant flow equation에 적용하여 고찰하였다. Rutile-water 현탁계는 30%wt 이상의 고농도에서는 thixotropy를 나타내고 25%wt 이하의 농도에서는 dilatancy를 나타내었으며 유동에 대한 활성화 에너지는 약 14Kcal/mol정도였다. 본연구에서는 유동성질간의 전이를 한 물질 내에서 구조의 형성과 파괴가 경쟁적으로 일어난다는 견지에서 고찰하였다. Rheological properties of Rutile-water suspension with various conditions of particle concentrations and temperatures. The rheologicl properties were measured using Couette type rotational viscometer. And we calculated flow parameters with applied to BKHR flow equation. Rutile-water suspension shows dilatancy at lower concentration relatively (at below 28%wt.) but at higher concentration(above 30%wt.) thixotropic flow was observed. And the activation energy for flow was about 14Kcal/mol. In this paper we studied this transition in the view point of competitive rate process between structure formation and deformation in the same material.
