        The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of health education program in Choongju rural area which had conducted by Public Health Doctor during winter in 1994 and 1995. We used two step sampling method for a household survey. First, six were selected from 12 Myuns, which were stratified by the level of health education activity. Second, we applied convenient sample method. Of the 307 respondents, most of them knew Health-subcenter's existence in their region. However, only 149 persons(45%) visited it during last year. They visited Health-subcenter because it was easy to travel and convenient. Some of them thought that Health-subcenter had very poorly equipped and supplied. About 32∼34% of respondents participated the health education program for hypertension and diabetes mellitus which was done last winter, and 59∼70% of participants of the program answered that it was very, moderately helpful. 82∼83% of participants recognized complications of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and 18∼20% of them did not know that medications of hypertension and diabetes mellitus should be continued one's whole life. The respondents want to receive health educations for cancer, arthritis, viral hepatitis and AIDS in orders. Many of rural residents utilize Health-subcenters because health clinics in Choongju rural area are very few.

      • 초음파 현미경의 음향 렌즈 설계에 관한 연구

        The design of piezoelectric layer and acoustic lens for scanning acoustic microscope is described. Acoustic lens utilizes the principle of optical lens, but it is the concave type in contrast with the optical lens. Mainly, the materials of acoustic lens are composed of ZnO which operates the longitudinal mode and has a large electromechanical coupling constant with the piezoelectric transducer and A1_20_3 which is very hard and whose difference of acoustic velocity is large about the acoustic lens rod. The segment of entire circle(O) must be generally 50˚ which is larger than Rayleigh's critical angle. If θ_max is 50˚ K is 53.33 or 15.74. Thus, according to the frequency of piezoelectric transducer, the radius of top electrode is obtained by formula (4.16). Peizoelectric transducer must be the thickness mode of circular plate, and piezoelectric layer is between λ / 4 and λ/2. And with the frequency of half wavelength of f_o = ω_o/2π = v_o/21_o and the acoustic velocity of v_0, the thickness of 1_0, the thickness of transducer is taken.

      • 조기위암의 임상적 연구

        1989년 9월부터 1993년 7월까지 인제대학교 의과대학 상계백병원에서 실시한 위내시경 소견이 조기위암이며 내시경 직시하 생검결과 선암으로 판명되어, 근치적 위절제술을 시행받은 23명의 환자에서 임상적 특징을 알아보고, 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. The incidence and mortality rate of stomach cancer ranks well ahead of all malignancies in Korea. The prognosis is excellent in early gastric cancer of which the overall 5 years survival rate of 85∼95% is comparative with that of advanced gastric cancer of 15∼49%. So early detection with very sensitive mordality of gastroscope and surgery is the only premise to decrease the mortality rate of gastric cancer. This report deals with the clinical aspects of 23 cases of early gastric cancer, which were confirmed with histopathologic examination of resected stomach during the 4 years from September 1989 to July 1993 at Sanggye Paik hospital, Seoul, Korea. Out of 23 cases of early gastric cancer, 14 cases were male, 9 cases were female, and the male to female ratio was 1.6 : 1. The most common type of early gastric cancer was talc type(43.5%), IIc and its combined type comprised most of them(87.0%). The most prevalent sloe of lesion was gastric angle(43.5%) and the most common direction was lesser curvature(73.9%) 19 cases of 23(78.3%) were between 1∼3cm in size, and there was no statistical significance between the size of the lesion and lymph node metastasis. Of the 9 cases with mucosal lesion, there were 2 cases with lymph node metastasis(22.2%), but 7cases(50.0% ) of 14 cases with submucosal lesion presented lymph node metastasis. Diagnostic accuracy of endoscopy on detection of early gastric cancer was 17 cases(73.9%) of total 23 cases in our study. As with other report, histopathulogic examination of resected stomach revealed adenocarcinoma, tubular type as the most common type. Frequent complaint of patients with early gastric cancer was epigastric pain(65.2%), and duration of the symptom was less than 12 months in 17 cases(73.1%) of 23 patients with early gastric cancer.

      • 國民學校 兒童들의 運動傷害 調査 : focussed on 4 districts in Kangweon province 江原道內 4個地域을 中心으로

        To suggest the basic data for a precautionary measures against sports injuries and safety educaion in Elementary school boys and girls, 1,149 boys and 1,111 girls(Total 2,260 answerers) who are 4th, 5th, 6th grade of Elementary school residing 4 districts((city, farm, fishing, and mining village) in Gang-weon province were answered on the questionair which is contents, 21 numbers of questions from Oct. 3, 1982. to Nov.3, 1982. The conclusions from gained results by analyzed data are as follows: 1. The most favorite sports Boys, Baseball and soccer Girls: Running and lope jumping Especially, boys residing in city area answered that the most favorite sports is baseball, and boys residing in the other districts answered that it is soccer. 2. The time required for carry out sports. About 85% of tatal answerer carry out sports 30min. to 1 hour per day. 3. Causes of sports injuries. Taking no notice of boys and girls carelessness and insufficiency of practice on the skill is the most. The next order, foul and a dangerous place in boys and fitness difficency in girls. 4. Situation injuries. When fall down a body toward the front was the most. During mining and collision against the other body were next order. 5. Injuried places and the weather. Out-door ground was most, the weather when injuried was clear. On the other hand, over 80% of total answere injuried season were summer and fall. 6. Sports events which caused sports injuries. Boys: Mainly soccer and baseball Girls: Running and lope jumping 7. Injuried part of the body was represented following order: ①The knee ②The ankle ③Hand and the charecteristic special features of injuries were sprain and laceration in addition, its symptom was acute form of decease. 8. treatment after injuried Boys and girls care at their home but 3.9% among total answeres who were injuried, and duration of curing was and day to 30 days. 9. A trend of experience on sports injury. 84% among total answerers in boys, and 75% among total answerers in girls. Thus it shows the experience ratis are more in boys than in girls.

      • 초음파 센서를 이용한 물체 인식에 관한 연구

        The object recognition using the ultrasonic resonator is reconstructed computationally on a CRT. The recognition information is obtained sequentially by the scanning the transmitter-receider unit in twodimension by the fan-beam method. The system consists of the scanning transmitter-receiver unit, step motor for position control, computing part and display unit including a CRT. The distance between sensor and object was measured quickly in each sampling point. The resolution of disk shape of 25cm diameter and the square shape of 25cm x 25cm were 77%, 61% each. The object recognition using the ultrasonic wave was carried out in air.

      • 한국인 제2형 당뇨병 환자의 골격근에서 인슐린 신호전달체계의 결함

        연구배경: 제2형 당뇨병에서 나타나는 인슐린 저항성은 간, 지방, 근육 같은 말초조직에서 인슐린의 작용이 떨어지는 것을 말한다. 제2형 당뇨병의 발생기전에 인슐린 저항성과 인슐린 분비능 저하가 같이 관여함은 잘 알려진 사실이다. 인슐린의 세포내에서의 저항성을 규명하기 위한 인슐린의 세포내 신호전달체계에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으며 몇몇 연구에서 인슐린 저항성을 가진 골격근육에서 IRS와 관련된 PI3-kinase의 활성감소와 Akt kinase의 활성감소를 보고하고 있으나 아직까지 명확하게 그 기작이 설명되어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 정상성인, 제2형 당뇨병 환자를 대상으로 경구당부하검사 및 인슐린 클램프검사를 시행하고 인슐린 클램프 검사시 대상인의 근육을 채취하여 인슐린 신호전달 체계(IR-β, IRS, Akt(PKB, Rac) kinase, GSK-3)를 연구하였다. 방법: 연구대상자는 한국인으로서 경구당부하검사상 정상인 및 당뇨병 환자 각각 11명, 9명을 대상으로 하였으며, 정상인은 건강인으로 과거력상 당대사에 영향을 줄 질환이 없고, 현재 당대사에 영향을 줄 약물 복용 및 다른 소견이 없는 경구당부하검사상 정성 내당능을 보이는 대상자로 하였다. 당뇨병환자는 모두 제2형 당뇨병 환자로 이환기간이 만 5년 이내인 경우로 하고, 인슐린으로 치료하는 대상자는 제외하도록 하였다. 대상자의 연령, 체질량지수, 체지방량, 공복시 총콜레스테롤, 중성지방, 고밀도지단백 콜레스테롤 및 HbA1c, 인슐린, C-peptide를 측정하였고, "HOMA model"을 이용하여 베타세포의 기능와 인슐린저항성 정도를 평가하였다. 정상혈당클램프 검사(euhlycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp test)를 시행하고 인슐린 투입 전과 인슐린 투입 30분후, 두차례에 걸쳐 대퇴부 근육생검을 실시한후 western 법으로 IR-β, IRS, Akt kinase, GSK-3의 인산화량을 측정하였다. 결과: 정상인 11명과 당뇨병 환자 9명을 대상으로 하였으며 대상자의 평균 연령, 평균 체질량지수, 체지방량, 허리/엉덩이 둘레의 비(waist hip ratio; WHR)는 두 군간에 차이가 없었다. 평균 공복혈당은 정상군 98.0±0.3㎎/dL, 당뇨병군 208.1±16.5㎎/dL(p<0.05), HbA1c는 정상군 5.4±0.5%, 당뇨병군 9.2±0.6%(p<0.05)였다. "HOMA model"을 이용한 베타세포의 기능과 인슐린저항성은 정상군 56.4±8.5%, 1.4±0.2, 당뇨병군 72.2±52.3%(p<0.01), 10.2±6.3(p<0.01)였으며 정상혈당클램프 검사상 포도당 이용률은 정상군 8.2±0.6㎎/㎏/min, 당뇨병군 3.7±1.1㎎/㎏/min(p<0.01)로 정상군과 당뇨병군간에 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. Western blot법으로 IR-β, IRS, Akt kinase, GSK-3의 인산화량을 인슐린 투입전과 인슐린 투입 30분후 측정하였을 때 IR-β에서는 정상군이 103.9±2.3에서 241.3±18.6, 당뇨군이 108.9±2.2에서 198.7±6.3으로 증가하였다(p=NS). 이는 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 통계적인 차이가 없었다. IRS에서는 정상군이 111.6±7.3에서 295.6±17.2, 당뇨군이 114.5±6.1에서 222.0±23.2로 증가하였으며(p<0.05), 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 약 24% 감소하였다. Akt kinase에서는 103.4±6.0에서 416.8±29.5로 증가하였으며(p<0.01), 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 약 43% 감소하였다. GSK-3에서는 정상군이 107.7±6.7에서 595.7±28.1, 당뇨군이 104.3±4.8에서 443.3±12.9로 증가하였으며(p<0.01), 인슐린 투입후 당뇨병군이 정상군과 비교하여 인산화량의 증가정도가 약 25% 감소하였다. 결론: 제2형 당뇨병 환자에서 정상인과 비교하여 인슐린 자극후 IR-β는 인산화량의 증가정도가 큰 차이가 없었으나, IRS, Akt kinase, GSK-3에서는 인산화량의 증가 정도가 감소되는 것으로 보아 상위 인슐린 신호전단체계부터 결함이 있는 것으로 생각된다. Background: The glucose uptake rate is the limiting step in glucose utilization and storage. The failure of insulin to stimulate glucose uptake in muscle appears to be a primary defect of insulin resistance. This study was undertaken to examine the effect of physiological hyperinsulinemia on the phosphorylation of the insulin receptor (IR-β), insulin receptor substrate (IRS), Akt kinase and GSK-3 in isolated skeletal muscle, in people with type 2 diabetes(n=9) and control subjects(n=11). Methods: 75g OGTT and euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp test were done. And vastus lateralis muscle was obtained before and 30 min into the euglycemic clamp. Western blots were performed for tyrosine phosphroylation of insulin receptor substrate (IRS) and phosphorylation of the insulin receptor(IR-β), Akt and GSK-3. Result: There were no statistical differences in the mean age, BMI and body fat between the control subjects and diabetic patients. The fasting blood sugar and HbA_1c in controls and diabetic patients were 98.0±0.3 and 208.1±16.5ng/dl, and 5.4±0.5 and 9.2±0.6%, and 1.4±0.2 in the control subjects, and 72.2±52.3%(p<0.01) and 10.2±6.3(p<0.01) in the diabetic patients, respectively. The insulin resistance from the euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp test were 8.2±0.6㎎/㎏/min and 3.7±1.1ng/㎏/min in the control subjects and in the diabetic patients, respectively(p<0.01). Compared with the normal controls, insulin-stimulated IR phosphorylation was no different to that in the diabetic patients. However, insulin-stimulated IRS phosphorylation, insulin-stimulated Akt phosphorylation and insulin-stimulated GSK-3 phosphorylation were reduced in the diabetic patients compared with the normal controls by 24, 43 and 25%, respectively(p<0.05). Conclusion: In Korean type 2 diabetic patients, the insulin resistance may be due to the impairment of the upstream insulin signal molecular network. Further studies will focus on determining whether these signaling defects are the cause of the development of insulin resistance, or secondary to the altered metabolic state, associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (J Kor Soc Endocrinol 17:685∼697, 2002).

        DBD 반응기에서 플라즈마 방전형태에 따른 PFC_(s) 가스의 분해 특성

        Perfluorocompounds(PFC_(s)), such as tetrafluoromethane (CF₄) and hexafluoroethane (C₂F_(6)), have been widely used as plasma etching and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) gases for semiconductor manufacturing processes. Since these PFC_(s) are known to cause a greenhouse effect intensively, there has been a growing interest in reducing PFC_(s) emissions. Among various CF₄ decomposing techniques, a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) is considered as one of a promising candidate because it has been successfully used for generating ozone (O₃) and decomposing nitrogen oxide (NO). Firstly, optimal concentration of oxygen for CF₄ decomposition was found to figure out how many primary and secondary reactions are associated with DBD process. Secondary, to find effective discharge method for CF₄ decomposition, a streamer and a glow mode in DBD are experimentally compared, which includes (ⅰ) coaxialcylinder DBD, (ⅱ) DBD reactor packed with glass beads. and (ⅲ) a glow mode operation with a helium gas. The test results showed that optimal concentration of oxygen was ranged 500 ppm~1% for treating 500 ppm of CF₄ and helium glow discharge was the most efficient one to decompose CF₄.

        This study has aimed for wide spreading of CALS in Construction Industry. The PMIS produce original information of construction project linked to CALS. So, this study have investigated present state of PMIS in construction industry, and reviewed the interface to construction CALS. And, key issues of adopting PMIS & CALS to whole construction and its related industry have been found. Additionally, it has also found improvement issues of construction system and political supports for PMIS adoption.

        This paper propose a designing technique for crack controlling the early-aged reinforced concrete rahmen bridges based on measured temperature history, strength revelation model and shrinkage model. The temperature histories at the slabs and the hunches of the four early-aged reinforced concrete rahmen bridges are recorded by field measurement; base on them, the decent temperature loads are determined in terms of the curing time. It is proposed the analytical algorithm which can be applicable to the general finite elements analysis including effect of elastic modulus and temperature change by the curing time. Developed analytical algorithm is applied to the rahmen bridge and computed stress are compared to the field-measured stresses
