Two new records of Phymatodes Mulsant (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) from Korea
Jongok Lim,Kyeong-mi Kim,Young-su Lee,Cheolhak Kim,Bong-woo Lee 한국응용곤충학회 2011 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2011 No.10
The genus Phymatodes Mulsant (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) distributes throughout the Holarctic region. Approximately 50 species have been recorded from the world, and four species have been recorded in Korea. In 2010 and 2011, we collected many grape twigs which were severely damaged by unknown larvae of longhorn beetles from Gyeonggi province. They were reared at indoor condition until their emergences in order to see which species inflicted damage on the grape vines. Two species of unknown longhorn beetles were collected. They were identified as Phymatodes jiangi Wang et Zheng and P. zemlinae Plavilstshikov et Anufriev that are new to Korea. The diagnosis and illustrations of P. jiangi and P. zemlinae are provided.

Larval stages of Callipogon relictus (Semenov) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae), a gigantic longhorn beetle designated as a natural monument of Korea, has never been studied as it is hardly discovered in nature. The DNA barcoding gene, mt-COI, was used to identify a dead larva found in the Gwangneung forest of the Korea National Arboretum. Based on the result, we provide the morphology of the immature stage, with the illustrations of diagnostic characteristics.

Odontepyris sp. nov., a new ectoparasitoid on the caterpillar of Telorta divergens (Butler, 1879) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), is recognized from Korea. After rearing the larvae on the host insect, adult females were obtained and described. Revising all known species of genus Odontepyris, a key to the species of the genus Odontepyris is presented for the Eastern Palearctic region.
Three new records of the subfamily Epyrinae Hymenoptera: Bethylidae) from Korea
Jongok LIM,Hyunjeong KWON,Jongwook LEE,Sanghyun KOH,Seunghwan LEE 한국응용곤충학회 2010 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2010 No.05
Three species, Allobethylus tomoae Terayama, Cephalonomia tarsalis (Ashmead), and Laelius yamatonis Terayama of the subfamily Epyrinae are recorded for the first time in Korea. Both sexes of A. tomoae Terayama, C. tarsalis (Ashmead) and female of L. yamatonis Terayama are briefly described with diagnostic morphological illustrations for each species based on the Korean specimens. Male of the genus Allobethylus is discovered for the first time from the word.
New Record of An Ectoparasitic Family Bothrideridae (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea) from Korea
Jongok Lim,Haeyong Oh,Sangwook Park,Sanghyun Koh,Yeongjin Jung,Sangchul Shin,Seunghwan Lee 한국응용곤충학회 2010 한국응용곤충학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2010 No.10
As an natural enemy against the Monochamus alternatus Hope and M. saltuarius Gebler (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae), the vector species of the pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Steiner & Buhrer), Dastarcus helophoroides (Fairmaire) (Coleoptera: Bothrideridae) is recognized for the first time in Korea. The family Bothrideridae is also reported for the first time in Korea. We provide the diagnosis, illustrations, biological information, and the host insects of D. helophoroides (Fairmaire).
Jongok Lim,박상욱,Sanghyun Koh,이승환,Hae-Yong Oh 한국응용곤충학회 2012 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.15 No.2
The ectoparasitic beetle, Dastarcus helophoroides (Fairmaire), was observed for the first time in Korea as a result of a study of the natural enemies of Monochamus alternatus Hope and M. saltuarius Gebler, the vector of the pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus (Steiner & Buhner)). Diagnostic illustrations are provided and the biology and host range of D. helophoroides (Fairmaire) are reviewed.
