      • Phenothiazines의 광독성에 대한 in vitro 실험법에 따른 Ascorbic acid의 영향

        The effects of ascorbic acid a well-known as antioxidant agent, on the phototoxicity caused by phenothiazines were studied using three in vitro methods - MTT assay, the Candida test, and the RBC photohemolysis. The tested phenothiazines include Chlorpromazine, Promethazine, Perphenazine, Chlorprothixene, Trifluoperazine, and Thioridazine and UVA 1.5 J/㎠ were irradiated. In results, ascorbic acid was effective to reduce the phototoxicities and to decrease the production of toxic photoproducts in every method used.

        A few in vitro methods were developed to compare the result on the phototoxicity of phenothiazines. By the MTT assay, the Candida test, and the RBC photohemolysis, the phototoxicities of UVA and UVB irradiation were measured. This paper presents the comparisons of methods which are effective to measure the phototoxicities of the chemicals causing phototoxicity and photoallergy. The tested chemicals of phenothiazines include Chlorpromazine, Promethazine, Perphenazine, Chlorprothixene, Trifluoperazine, and Thioridazine. Each chemical represented variable results according to the test methods. MTT assay shows the most sensitive method.

        This Study, Effects of Quality Services, Customer Satisfaction, and the Switching Barrier on Customer Loyalty of Swimming Pools, aims to determine the relationships between (1) services rendered, (2) customer satisfaction, and (3) the switching barrier of public swimming pools in Daegu, Korea with resultant (4) customer loyalty using the regression analysis. To achieve this goal, the Study establishes a hypothetical model based on prior related research, The Systematic Stratified Cluster Random Sampling Method was used in evaluating the sampling data The results of the research conducted using the above-mentioned study methods and data analysis are as following: 1. The more a customer was aware of the services provided by swimming pools, the closer the reciprocal personal relationship and the higher switching costs. Both the reciprocal personal relationship and switching costs are sub-variables of the switching barrier, However, when customers were well-aware of the services being provided, the attractiveness of alternatives seemed to decrease, 2. The more customers were aware of the services provided by swimming pools, the more they felt satisfied with a pools services. 3. As the reciprocal personal relationship developed and the switching costs increased, the switching barrier appeared to increase, However, the attractiveness of alternatives turned out to have minimal or no influence on the switching barrier, 4. The more customers felt satisfied with the pool they were using, the greater the switching barrier became and thus less likely that the customer would change pools, 5. As the switching barrier increased, the customer loyalty to a pool also improved, 6. The service quality, sub-variables of the switching barrier, customer satisfaction, and the switching barrier had significant impacts on customer loyalty to the swimming pool he or she was using at the time, In summary, a customers awareness of exemplary user services of a swimming pool helps him or her to better understand the sub-variables of the switching barrier (except the attractiveness of alternatives) and results in greater customer satisfaction and loyalty of a truly quality-conscious, health facility, In turn, a better understanding by a customer of a pool facilities, services and customer-conscious ness contributes significantly to building the switching barrier and results In higher customer loyalty by the client, Therefore, owners and operators of swimming pools in Dae gu, Korea should focus on three key elements to customer satisfaction: (1) quality of user-services, (2) customer satisfaction, and (3) the switching barrier, Prioritizing pool operations around these three fundamentals will enable pools in the area to gain market share and improve customer loyalty, long term.

        Tetrahydroberberine-13-one was treated with ethylchloroformate to give the C_8-N bond cleaved product 1. On the treatment with Lawesson's reagent (LAS), chloroketone 2 derived from the hydrolysis of 1 afforded the thioketone 3. On the other hand, spirotype-chloroketone 4 was transformed to diaziridine 8 by a reduction, chlorination and aziridine introduction. Also, spirotype-chlorothioketone 6 was obtained from chloroketone 4.

        광독성 및 광알러지를 일으키는 물질인 phenothiazine계 약물중 chlorpromazine(CPZ), perphenazine(PPZ), trifluoperazine(TFZ), promethazine(PMZ)을 택하여 적혈구에서의 광용혈현상을 Kahn 등의 방법에 의해 UVB(UV irradiation RMX-3W, 1.5 J/㎠)을 조사하여 약물 농도별로 측정한 결과 CPZ, PPZ은 UVB 조사에 의해 약물농도에 따라 현저히 적혈구 용혈현상이 증가 되었으며 이는 ascorbic acid에 의해 유의성있게 감소되었고, 각 약물의 광독성 물질 생성 여부와 이에 의한 용혈독성을 조사해보니 CPZ, PMZ에서 관찰되었고 ascorbic acid에 의해 그 현상이 감소되었다. The purpose of this study is to examine the phototoxicity of four phenothiazine derivatives such as chlorpromazine, perphenazine, trifluorperazine and promethazine, and to investigate the effects of ascorbic acid on their phototoxicity by UVB irradiation. Effects of the test compounds on RBCs were monitored with a spectrophotometer by the method of Kahn et al. The extent of photohemolysis by tested phenothiazine derivatives were increased with their concentration and toxic photoproducts were formed by chlorpromazine and promethazine with preirradiated UVB. Photohemolysis postirradiated chlorpromazine and perphenazine and preirradiated promethazine were decreased with the use of ascorbic acid significantly.

        Sythesis of β-naphthol derivatives and their anti-tumor activity were investigated. Binaphthol 1 obtained from β-naphthol by oxidative C-C bond formation(phenoloxydation) was converted into its derivatives. Treatment of 1 with POCl_3 followed by aziridine introduction gave phosphoryl aziridine 3. Also, diaziridine 5 was obtained from 1 by chlorination and successive aziridine introdution. Typical chemical transformation of 1 to obtain ester-type afforded compound 7 and 8. Compound 5 was the most effective derivative of the tested compounds on their anti-tumor activity.

        Synthesis of gem-Dichlorocyclopropanes Using Liquid–Liquid Slug Flow

        By analyzing the causes of precipitation and clogging in continuous flow dichlorocyclopropanation, we established that the flow reaction can be performed only with T-junctions and microtubes. Unlike tertiary amines, when quaternary ammonium salts were used as PTCs, precipitation and clogging in microchannels did not occur, and an excellent yield of up to 99% was obtained after optimizing the reaction temperature, reactant concentration, and retention time. In the scale-up experiment, the reaction yields slightly decreased as the inner diameter (ID) of the microchannel was increased, but the calculated throughput increased from 2.41 g/h (ID: 1.5 mm) to 3.46 g/h (ID: 1.9 mm) and 5.13 g/h (ID: 2.4 mm)

        This paper proposes the method to predict the wind turbine power generation using logic-based fuzzy neural networks. To predict the wind turbine power generation neural networks, logic-based fuzzy neural networks, and fuzzy neural models have been considered. But the model considered in this paper can predict the wind turbine power generation with a less complex structure. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

        Starch nanoparticles resulting from combination of dry heating under mildly acidic conditions and homogenization

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>To modify starch granular structure, normal maize starch was subjected to dry heating with various amounts of 1.0M HCl (1.2, 1.4 or 1.6mL) and different treatment times (2, 4 or 8h). For all reaction conditions, at least 80% of the starch substance was recovered, and amylose and amylopectin B1 chains were preferentially cleaved. As acidic condition and/or treatment time increased, the treated granules were readily fragmented by homogenization. The treatment appeared to alter short-range crystalline structure (FT-IR), but long-range crystalline structure (XRD) remained intact. Homogenization for 60min fragmented the treated starch granules (subjected to reaction condition of 1.4mL/4h, 1.6mL/2h, and 1.6mL/4h) into nanoparticles consisting of individual platelet-like and spherical particles with diameters less than 100nm. However, the fragmentation caused obvious damage in the long-range crystalline structure of starch nanoparticles, while the short-range chain associations remained relatively intact.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Efficient process for preparation of starch nanoparticles is proposed. </LI> <LI> Dry heating under acidic conditions is an alternative strategy for hydrolyzing starch. </LI> <LI> The process can generate starch nanoparticles with diameters less than 100nm. </LI> <LI> The process can shorten treatment time and increase recovery of the particles. </LI> </UL> </P>
