      • Genetic Analysis of Apoplastic Proteins in Barley Crosses

        Antifreeze proteins (AFPs) accumulate in the leaves of barley during cold acclimation, where they may inhibit ice recrystallization and produce freezing resistance of the plant. Four parental diallel crosses of the barley varieties were used to determine the heritability of AFPs and the relationship between the accumulation level of AFPs and freezing resistance. The concentration of apoplastic proteins in the cold-acclimated leaves was increased in the mean by four-fold over as compared with that of nonacclimated. The diallel cross analyses revealed that the gene of Sacheon 6 was dominant and those of Reno and Dongbori 1 were recessive. The AFPs had high narrow-sense heritabilities. The general combining ability effects of Reno and Dongbori 1 were much higher than the other parents. The bands of 32-kD for GLP, 35-& 28-kD for CLP and 25-, 22- & 16-kD for TLP were observed in the apoplastic extracts from cold-acclimated plants, but there were no clear differences between the parents and Fl hybrids. The concentrations of AFPs were significantly correlated with the degree of freezing resistance, indicating that the concentration of AFPs in the plant is the very important factor for freezing resistance.

      • 토양으로부터 分離한 Bacteriophage의 특성

        환경 미생물 분야와 산업미생물 분야 및 분자생물학 분야에서 주목을 받고 있고, 많은 연구가 된 새로운 E. coli의 bacteriophage를 토양으로 부터 분리해서, 그 물리적인 특성과 핵산을 밝혀내, phage상호간의 관련성을 검토하여 보았다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 토양으로 부터 분리한 phage는 숙주균에 따라 SJ-1, SJ-2, SJ-3, SJ-4, SJ-5, SJ-6, SJ-7이라 명명하였다. SJ phage들은 높은 숙주특이성을 나타내 phage SJ-2, SJ一7은 단일종 숙주균에만 감염이 되었고, SJ-1, SJ-3, SJ-4, SJ-5, SJ-6은 다중독성을 나타내었다. 2. 7종류의 SJ-phage는 본 실험조건하에서는 모두 virulent phage임이 밝혀졌다. 모든 용균반의 형태는 중앙이 투명한 둥근 모양이었으며 주변에 무리가 있는 것과 없는것 두가지 형태를 나타냈다. 용균반의 크기는 1-5mm이었으며, SJ-5phage의 용균반이 5mm로서 가장 컸고 SJ-7 phage가 가장 적었다. 숙주균은 OD_600 0.3-0.5상태에서 가장 감염되기가 좋았다. 그리고 상층배지의 한천 농도와 양은 0.5%와 3ml이 가장 좋은 조건이었다. 3. 일단 증식 실험의 결과를 보면 SJ-phage는 잠복기가 15-50분이었고 평균 phage방출수는 190-250이었다. SJ-6과 SJ-7이 잠복기가 15분으로 가장 짧았고 SJ-4가 50분으로 가장 길었다. 평균 방출수는 SJ-3과 SJ-5가 250정도로 많았으며 SJ-1과 SJ-2는 약 190정도였다. 4. SJ-phage는 PD buffer에서 안정하였고, magnesium ion 5×10^-3M의 첨가는 phage에게 큰 안정성을 주었다. SJ-phage는 pH6과 pH9사이에서 안정하였으며 그 pH는 숙주균의 최적 pH였다. SJ-phage의 온도 불활성화는 40 ℃이상에서 불활성화되기 시작하여 60 ℃이상에서는 완전히 불활성화 되었다. 자외선 조사에 의한 불활성화에서 SJ-phage는 120초 이후에 완전히 불활성화 되었다. All phages used in this experiment were isolated from soil of the surburbs of Chun-Nam, and they designated as phage SJ-1, SJ-2, SJ-3, SJ-4, SJ-5, SJ-6, SJ-7. The hosts were JM105, JM109, K802, LE392, MC1000, MV1184 and PSM CC, respectively. These phages were virulent under the experimental conditions. They produced plaques with dear and round without halo. The size of plaques was 1-5mm in diameter. SJ-phages were stable in 5×10^-3M Mg^2+. Thermostability experiments indicated that SJ-phages were stable at 37℃. Optimal pH of the phages were 6-9. Exposure of the phages to U.V. for 120 seconds resulted in complete inactivation. In one-step growth experiments, the latent period at 37 ℃ was about 15-50 min and the average burst see was 190-250. Agarose gel electrophoresis of the phage DNA showed single band of high molecular weight from SJ-1 to SJ-7 phages

      • 엔로플록사신 액제의 닭 호흡기 및 소화기 감염증에 대한 예방 및 치료효과

        We evaluated the efficacy of the liquid form of enrofloxacin against poultry respiratory and digestive infections, the major problems in the poultry industry, from diverse diagnosis viewpoints. Results obtained through this study were as follows: 1. The liquid form of enrofloxacin showed good acceptability to poultry owing to no abhorrence to the drug by chickens, which indicated its suitability for mixing in drinking water. 2. The application of the enrofloxacin formulation improved the productivity of the chicken farm to a great extent by lowering the death toll of chicken raised in the farm. 3. The use of the drug shortened the days to the market, and increased the body weight at the time of marketing. 4. Preventive and therapeutic effects of the liquid enrofloxacin were observed higher than ampicillin, a major antibiotic used in poultry farming. From above results, the liquid form of enrofloxacin would find its use for the prevention and treatment of digestive and respiratory infections, let alone the growth promotion and feed efficiency, especially in the chicken farming practice.

      • 엔로플록사신 액제의 닭유래 병원세균에 대한 시험관내 항균효과 시험

        In this study the antimicrobial spectrum and sensitivity of a liquid formulation of enrofloxacin against the major six pathogenic bacteria isolated from the diseased poultry in Korea were evaluated in comparison with ciprfloxacin (CFX), gentamicin (GM) and penicillin (PC). A liquid form of enrofloxacin, a test material and ciprofloxacin showed at least 83% antibacterial activity against all of six test pathogenic microorganisms at the fixed concentration of 10 ㎍/㎖. Gentamicin and penicillin revealed much lower antibacterial activity at the same condition. We evaluated the liquid form of enrofloxacin as having widespread antibacterial spectrum against poultry infections. The liquid form of enrofloxacin showed potent antibacterial activity, with the MIC range being 0.12∼2 ㎍/㎖ against Gram positives, 0.06∼2 ㎍/㎖ against Gram negatives and 0.5∼2 ㎍/㎖ against Mycoplasma spp. These values were equivalent to or somewhat higher than those of ciprofloxacin, but much lower than those of gentamicn and penicillin. This new liquid form of enrofloxacin would find its way in application of mixing with drinking water for the prevention and treatment of diverse infections in chickens.

      • 남·여 중학생의 신체적 자기효능감에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate physical self-efficacy of middle school students. The subjects of this study were 386 second grade middle school students in Pusan. The 386 students were composed of these categories; 95 students in an academical bottom group who were the order of seats out 90% of the whole, the 63 20%BF who had over 20% body fat, the 130 general students who were except for academical top group students, academical bottom group students, and obese students. The method of measurement used was the Physical Self-Efficacy Scale. The data was used by One-way, Two-way ANOVA, and Duncan's Multiple Range as statistical method. The level of significance of all hypotheses tested was p<.05 and the results were as follows: 1. The physical self-efficacy of the top range students was higher than that of the bottom range students with physical ability and physical self-presentation confidence within physical self-efficacy was higher than of low range students. 2. The physical self-efficacy of the boy students was higher than that of the girl students. 3. The physical self-efficacy of the general students was higher than that of 20%BF students. 4. The physical self-efficacy of the academical top group students was higher than that of the academical bottom group students.

        사인별 평균수명 손실량 변화에 관한 연구

        The major purpose of this study is to analyse trends of life expectancy which were lost by cause of death. Data used in Cause-Elimination Model are 'Cause of Death Statistics from 1983 to 1997 published by National Statistical Office of Korea. The major findings may be summarized as follows: (1) The theoretical limit to life expectancy by Cause-Elimination Model is 78.65 in 1983 and 89.72 in 1997 for male, and 85.23 in 1983 and 89.89 in 1997 for female. (2) The effect on life expectancy at birth of eliminating Malignant Neoplasms is 5.06 years for male and 2.63 years for female in 1997. Eliminating the External Causes of Death increase life expectancy at birth by 3.52 years for male and 1.38 years for female in 1997.

        아베 프레보의 작품에 나타난 말르브랑슈의 영향

        L'organe sexuel fe´minin est longtemps conside´re´ comme non repre´sentable. Freud, lui-me^me dans son e´ssai sur "La Te^te de la Me´duse" en a fourni une explication psycho-mythologique: tout comme la te^te de Me´duse qui aveugle l'homme, le sexe fe´minin provoque la castration symbolique, en produisant une peur inconsciente. Deux romanciers contemporains de Freud l'ont de´crit dans leurs romans: Emile Zola et Marcel Proust. Au premier abord, leur description se differe l'une de l'autre: si Zola y voit une be^te freudienne, Proust trouve un apaisement cosmique. Qu'est-ce que cela signifie? Dans Nana d'Emile Zola, le sexe fe´minin est repre´sente´ comme une machine monstreuse qui font ravage dans l'univers de ses romans. Onretrouve donc la me^me force de destruction que Freud a symbolize´ par la te^te de la Me´duse. Son pouvoir, pourtant, ne se limite pas au niveau individual mais s'e´tend jusqu'a` celui de la collectivite´ sociale montrant la peur quasi neurologique de la socie´te´ essentiellement patriachale. Dans La Prisonnie`re de Proust, le sexe d'Albertine, compare´ a` l'horizon cre´pusculaire est de´pourvu non seulement de sexualite´ mais aussi de toute e´nergie, de sorte qu'en le regardant le narrateur sent une paix immense. Pourtant cette impression s´ave`re fausse. Car elle exprime, elle aussi, la peur de la Me´duse. De´crire l'organe sexuel comme faisant partie de la nature, c'est de´sexualiser Albertine, la nature e´tant asexuelle par de´finition. Proust ne fait que rejoinder a` la tradition de la Vierge-Me`re qui est le revers du me`daillon de la Me´duse. Malgre´ les apparences, les descriptions du sexe fe´minin de ces deux romanciers ne sont-elles pas fonde´es sur la me^me peur de la sexualite´ fe´minine? La dichotomie traditionnelle de pure/impure y trouve ses expressions typiques.

        볏짚버섯속(Agrocybe) 보존균주의 여름철 인공재배시 재배 및 형태적 특성

        국립원예특작과학원 버섯과에 보존하고 있는 볏짚버섯속(Agrocybe) 30균주에 대하여 버섯발생 실험을 실시하고, 자실체의 형태적 특성을 조사하였다. 볏짚버섯속 균주중 톱밥배지를 사용한 병재배에서 자실체가 발생된 것은 19균주 이었다. 이중 ASI 19007 등 13균주(I ; A. chaxingu)와, ASI 19003 등 5균주(II; A. cylindracea), ASI 19008(III; Agrocybe sp.)로 그룹 지어졌는데, ASI 19008은 균배양기간, 버섯발생기간 등 재배적 특성과 자실체의 형태적 특징이 다른 2그룹과 차이가 많았다. 또한 재배 계절에 따라 재배적 특성이 다르게 나타났는데 봄, 가을, 겨울에는 ASI 19003 균주가, 여름에는 ASI 19007 균주가 수량이 많고 품질도 좋았다. 따라서 본 연구결과는 계절에 알맞은 품종의 선택을 통하여 볏짚버섯속균의 연중 안정생산이 가능하여 농가소득 증대에 기여할 것으로 본다. Thirty strains of genus Agrocybe which had been kept in National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, were tested for the formation of fruiting body. Nineteen strains of collected genus Agrocybe were formed fruiting body at bottle culture of sawdust medium. Five strains (including ASI 19003) and thirteen strains (including ASI 19007) could be grouped as A. cylindracea and A. chaxingu . Although ASI 19008 showed the formation of fruiting body, morphological characteristics were significantly different from the two groups. Cultural period of ASI 19003 strain at sawdust substrates was 29 days and ASI 19007 train was 30 days in liquid spawn inoculation. The yield and quality of ASI 19003 strain was excellent in the spring, fall, and winter, whereas ASI 19007 strain was excellent in the summer. Accordingly, these cultivar might be contribute to farmers' income by stable year-round production if using the season-oriented strain.

        Individual income tax takes a leading part of tax system in developed country. It applies to a recognized measure of ability to pay. As a direct tax, it can take account of the taxpayer's needs as indicated by the number of his dependents and other personal circumstances, it is adaptable to progressive rates. In practice, individual income taxes of many countries depart from the ideal in important respects. Individual income tax of Korea was designed as developed countries in a basic structure. But it has done function poorly because it played an important role of economic development and tax system changed from direct system to indirect system. This study attempts to provide several matter for the improvement of individual income tax reform. First, the korea tax statutes do not attempt a general definition of income. They rely mainly on the enumeration of items to be included, excluded or deducted. However, the statutory listing is not exhaustive. So, many important items that qualify as realized income are committed from the tax base in Korea. Second, the fundamental problem in the tax treatment of the family is that no tax system can simultaneously achieve increasing marginal tax burdens unchanged upon with equal incomes. Present law takes family tax with individual filing. Under progressive rates, it is not ability to pay. Third, deductions in Korea code include premium, medical expense and educational fee and earned income deduction. Personal exemptions include self, spouse and impediment exemption. However, These are constant before tax code revision. Deductions are need to choose standard or itemized. Fourth, the present law characterized by highly progressive bracket rates up 55 percent which, because of deficient of taxable income, are not reflected in a corresponding set of average or effective rates.
